Aug 8, 2007So I just got iLife 08 and I am upgrading from, I guess it's 06 (came on my mbp c2d) -anyway, I upgraded iweb, imovie and iphoto -
iphoto and iweb seem to have upgraded and it seems imovie did too BUT when I try and open imovie it keeps crashing...
I looked in the applications folder and see it made a "previous imovie" folder with my old one...
i try and open imovie 08 and it opens for a second, seems to try and load and shuts off...

Apr 3, 2009I made a short movie in iMovie 09. Into the project I imported a song from my iTunes. Then I wanted to fade the music because it lasted longer than the video. So I clicked on the little gear that brings up the clip trimmer. But rather than bring up the clip trimmer the software crashes. Again and again and again.

Apr 5, 2009Recently I deleted all of my iMovie Events (Events NOT Projects) Because it was using about 80GB+ of my HDD space. I deleted these from the finder, not from within iMovie.
Now whenever I launch iMovie it will try to load the events, nothing happens, then searches for iPhoto movies, then in the video preview window I see an image saying Source Missing.

Feb 26, 2010Anyone know if this is known problem? I have loads of my video imported directly into iPhoto (I have compact camera which takes photos and video). When in iMovie I click on 'iphoto Videos' in the 'event library pane' and after a lot of thinking iMovie crashes!

Jun 19, 2008I have been trying to add music to a movie in iMovie. However, when I click the music button, it just presses and releases, and no music list appears. It used to, but now it doesn't. So no way to add music.
Also, after doing the most basic things, such as creating one slide with just text, iMovie decides to crash, and the spinning colour wheel appears.
Both of these issues have only recently started happening. It is running on the latest 2.4GHz iMac with 3GB RAM, and only safari and messenger running in the background. It is very annoying, and I don't know how to resolve it.

Aug 26, 2010I'm wondering whether to go PC and Sony Vegas Home Studio or iMac and use iMovie but I'm not sure if iMovie can do what I want: I want to make a music video for a track I made, in Sony Vegas I can add a audio file to a track below the main video track and see it's waveform, then edit the video clips to match certain points in the track. Can iMovie do this? I've done a bit of searching on the net but can't find a answer. All I've seen the green background that gets added to clip window. Also is a Quadcore i5 OK for video work?

I have Leopard and I was working in iMovie on a project and when i finished i went to save it and then the color wheel came up for over 5 minutes and then it automatically shut down imovie! i lost the whole project that took me over 5 hours to do! i still have the DV files that i imported, but not the editing that i did! i havent used TIME MACHINE due to the fact that i dont have a external HD. Sep 21, 2009I have a project file that was created using iMovie 5 HD. In this project file were a large number of unused clips and also the final film, edited with transitions, backing music, end credits, etc.
However when I import this project file into iMovie 8 I cannot find the final edited film anywhere, just all the clips that were both used and unused within the project file.
How can I get the final film back without spending about a week re-editing everything?

Jan 16, 2010So i've recently gotten in the uploading to YouTube craze with my Flip Mino HD but i'm not too happy at the way i've been doing this and am hoping there is an easier way.
As of late i've been importing what i film into iMovie. In iMovie i'll edit the video to my liking. In iMovie i'll "export" to the media browser so it'll show up in GarageBand. Then i'll open GarageBand and edit my film further, dealing with sound; adding music. After that i'll export it as a .MOV to my desktop. Then i'll open iMovie again and import that .MOV file and from there in iMovie will have it upload to YouTube in its original HD format.

May 8, 2009So, I have all of my imovie projects backed up on my external harddrive, as well as the imovie program. I accidentally deleted all of the imovie projects and events from the imovie application on my laptop. When I try to re-import the imovie files into imovie, it doesn't recognize the files. I have tried to convert them with iSkySoft Video Converter. That converter program does not recognize the files either. I also tried burning the files onto a disc and then pulling them off the disc with the Handbrake program. This doesn't work either. I also tried importing the files into iMovie HD, which I have on my desktop, but to no avail. Are these files alll useless now? I'm at my wits end because I have spent literally months compiling footage for a documentary.

Apr 7, 2010I'm using a wireless Mighty Mouse with a Mac Mini (the newest model) and am running 10.6.3.
The scroll wheel can scroll up just fine, but scrolling down, it literally only scrolls down a fraction of a pixel (if that's even possible) per finger flickr/scroll.
I opened the Mouse panel from System Preferences and adjusted the Scroll setting, but no luck.
