Our 2011 iMac with SSD takes 2:15 (two minutes and fifteen seconds) to start up. Start up on a SSD should be faster. OS X version 10.7.4 and applications are on the SSD. Any suggestions for correcting this lack of speedy start up?

MacBook Taking An Excesses Of 20 Minutes To Start Up

Apr 14, 2012

My Macbook over the last month has been running slower than usual. I first started experiencing problems after I installed and uninstalled parallels. When I went to uninstall parallels I got an error during the installation, and I removed that files manually. My macbook started responding slower than usual and I repaired the disk permissions and that fixed the problem temporarily.I then downloaded MacKeeper and to clean my MacBook up and that seemed to fix the problem for the short term. Then the other night I shut down my MacBook and I just noticed my time machine backup was still running.Ever since then it has taken an excess of 10 minutes to start up if not longer. When I say start up I am refering from the white screen with the apple logo to the login menu. I have tried the reset PRAM, and I'm running out of ideas, the only thing I have left in my mind is to try and remove the battery and put it in again.

MacBook Pro :: When Start To Stream A Tv Show From ITunes Via Home Sharing It Will Play Just For Few Minutes?

Apr 9, 2012

I have a iMac as our main computer which has the main iTunes account. I have a ethernet connection off a Time Capsule/Air Play Wireless to that. I just got a Apple TV 2 and that has been working nearly seamlessly via a wireless connect from the Time Capsule The problem is with the Mac Book Pro (early 2011, 17", 2.2 ghz Intel Core i7, 8GB DDR3, AMD radeon HD 6750 1024 MB Graphics, all updated on all software)What my twist is that when I start to stream a tv show from iTunes via home sharing it will play for 5-20 min and then just stop and return to the main iTunes menu This occurs on TV Shows purchased from Apple, From DVD's I have ripped with HandBrake and Bit Torrents I have also ripped with HandBrake (Into Apple TV 2 format) I've read over and over the Apple suggested trouble shooting. The only non Apple product/software in the mix is Norton for Mac on the Mac Book and the iMac however I have turned off the Firewall on that as well as experimented with turning on and off the Mac Firewall I have a older router from my ISP however the Apple TV is working fine so I *think* that has been elminated

Software :: Word 2008 Crashing A Lot, During Start Up?

Oct 9, 2009

Every time I open a Word document, the application crashes during start up, right after you can see the document in the screen. Then the application Microsoft error reporting shows up (see below for the very last error report), I send the error, re- open the document and no problem from there...

Other facts:

- All documents are in Spanish as default language, Arial font
- The application was installed just a couple of weeks ago. Before that, I was using Office 2002 (or 2001?)
- I installed excel, power point and word only
- Most documents were originally created with the older version of Word

Intel Mac :: Newest Update May Have Caused Itunes To Start Crashing At Startup

Mar 8, 2012

Ok, my once a week auto Mac auto update just finished and now my itunes 10.6 will start then crash as soon as it opens. Error report as follows

Process:         iTunes [746]
Path:            /Applications/iTunes.app/Contents/MacOS/iTunes
Identifier:      com.apple.iTunes

[Code]....

If you want the rest of the multi page thread I will paste it.

I have tried restarting the machine and no dice. I thought of reinstalling itunes from apples site but each time I go there its says congrats on downloading it but will not download a single thing. On the problems downloading its only gives me answers to PC problems.

Do I really have to completely reinstall from my iMac install discs just to get itunes back ? I dont use time machine as I have a 1T hardrive in my imac and use most of it for itunes, even I cant afford a 1T stand alone hard drive just for backups.

OS X V10.7 Lion :: Why Have To Restart Wifi Every 3 Minutes
