I have a HP Photosmart B110 printer/scanner and I'm running OSX 10.7 Lion, I have no dramas printing but the scanner is not recognised. If I go to System preferences> Print & Scan, it shows the printer but won't show the scanner!! I obviously want and need to use the scanner but am unable!
I am needing an AIO color laser that prints, copies, scans and faxes for my Tiger and soon to be Snow Leopard MacBook. Price is not an object (for the most part). I've been looking but have found anything that has a fax.
I got this printer/scanner when I got the Macbook not too long ago and I am finally getting around to setting it up on the new iMac. It worked perfectly fine on my old G5 iMac running Tiger but for some reason I can't get it to work right on the new Snow Leo. iMac.
I open the HP Device Manager and go to "scan picture". It opens up HP Scan Pro and the scanner starts going but then I get a message on the screen that says:
Quote:
Error
Sorry an unknown error has occured
I fiddled around with some of the preferences and it's saying that it can not communicate with the scanner (which is wrong because it tells it to start scanning and it prints fine).
All updates have been done to both the computer and the scanner software.
Has anyone else had this kind of problem with ANY of the HP peripherals? Need some help with this guys/gals.
after updating to Maverick osx 10.9.3 my hp photosmart scanner is not recognized with IMAC image capture. I have done all software upgrades and deleted the printer and reinstalled the printer which is on my wireless network.
how to get the scanner on a Canon MP800 scanner/printer to scan with Lion software. I've installed the Canon Version 3.0.4 driver but it still doesn't work.
Info: iMac (24-inch Early 2008), Mac OS X (10.7.4)
this may be sort of a noob question but I was hoping someone could help me out. I have an HP photosmart 8050 printer hooked up to my iMac via USB. The thing is my girlfriend uses my other 2 dell laptops mainly for school while I use my iMac for school. All of these computers are on the same network and are scattered around my house.
So being in school we need to print out a lot of documentation and wanted to just have the printer setup wirelessly. I have a modem w/ the wired/wireless router, and all my computers have internal wireless cards.
I have just installed OS X 10.6.8 Now my printer (HP psc 2410 Photosmart won't work. I went to HP site to get a new driver, but they have none for this OS. Now what do I do?
Info: iMac (20-inch Early 2008), Mac OS X (10.6.8)
I installed a new HP Officejet Pro8600. It all is synched, but will not print.I think I need to uninstall the existing HP Photosmart C4480, first. Then reinstall the newer HP Officejet.how to uninstall the existing printer.
I have OSX 10.6 installed and I currently have my broadband connected by Ethernet connection. Airport seems to connect to my wireless router even though this is plugged in. HPSETUP appears as a device in the WI-FI drop down, however to print I need to select this from the dropdown. Can my iMac's wifi connect to this by default rather than my broadband connection?
I have a HP Photosmart C4200 Series (C4280 to be exact). I have recently installed Snow Leopard (was using Leopard before) and this printer shows as supported in Snow Leopard. The problem I'm having, is that when I go to print a document from Microsoft Word (Office 2008) for Mac, all I get are blank pages. I printed something from Text Edit and it comes out fine, but files from Microsoft Word come out blank. Also, the "Test" pages come out fine as well.
I have been printing files for months and months now from Microsoft Word, but this is the first time I have tried in Snow Leopard.Does anyone know what is going on? I really need to print stuff since its for school.
I upgraded my PowerMac Dual G5 2 GHz from OS 10.4.11 to 10.5.8. Now the Mac can't see my SCSI scanner (Epson Exprerssion 836XL). It doesn't show up under the system profiler.
Before upgrading, I cloned my 10.4.11 installation. When I boot from the clone, I can use the scanner with no problems. So the hardware is working and connected properly.
What is there about the Leopard system I can do to help it recognize the scanner?
The problem has survived system restarts, including restarts after complete shutdown.
My HP C4680 scanner/printer used to work with my Mac. The printer still works fine, but after upgrading to Mac OS X 10.6.8 the scanner is no longer working. I receive a message - scanner not found.
Info: MacBook Pro (13-inch Mid 2010), Mac OS X (10.6.8)
The printer prints copies in a very light grey colour. I would like it to give a normal black print. It is the driver. If so where do I get an update for the driver. Or what else can it be.
I just upgraded to Snow Leopard (OS 10.6.1). I have an HP DeskJet F4280 All-In-One. It used to work great under 10.5.x, but now it will print fine but not scan.
If I launch HP Device Manager, and double-click Scan Picture, HP Scan Pro window opens, but I get the following error: Sorry, scanner could not be initialized (Scanner not found.).
If I press the hardware Scan button on the top of the unit itself, the power light blinks rapidly for about 10 seconds, then reverts to its normal state, and nothing else happens.
If I launch Image Capture 6.0(424) I get this error: No camera or scanner connected.
Under System Preferences>Print & Fax>Scan a window opens that reads HP Deskjet F4200 series and I click on Scanner, but it says No scanner selected.
However, System Profiler lists Deskjet F4200 series under USB High-Speed Bus, and, as already mentioned, the printer works fine.
I've browsed the site for awhile now, but this is the first time I've had to post.
I recently tossed my old printer due to the scanner going bad, and picked up a new one. It's an Epson NX400. I've gone through the install disk, done what needs to be done, but I've got a problem.
Whenever I go to add it in the printer utility window, all I can do is highlight it. To clarify, it's showing up just fine under the 'Printer Name' section, and the 'Name' and 'Location' both fill in with the appropriate information when highlighted, but the 'Add' button doesn't become selectable.
It forces me to look through the 'Print Using' window, where the desired printer is nowhere to be found. This also happened when I tried hooking up an HP printer.
I've been scratching my head going through every support site I could find, but I'm giving up. Anyone familiar with a fix?
Esteemed List: I have an Epson Stylus CX6000 copier-printer-scanner. I have a newish Intel 2.13 GHz MacBook, OS 10.6.2 (Snow Leopard) with 2 GBs SDRAM and PhotoShop Elements 8. I migrated all my compatible software from a G4 12" PowerBook running OS 10.3.9, including the Epson software package - printer drivers, scanner, etc. - and the printer/copier works fine but neither Elements nor the laptop recognize the scanner software. The Epson site has a "complete" driver update for Snow Leopard that supposedly covers these issues. There is a warning that some parts of the drivers require OS 10.5, which this laptop never had. My question: is it safe to download and install these updated drivers? Do you have any suggestions?I do a fair amount of scanning work and need to access the Epson.
White 2.13 GHz Macbook, OS 10.6.2, 2 GBs SDRAM; Epson Stylus CX6000, Epson Scan 2.90 software; Epson Printer Utility and Epson Printer Utility 2.
Anyone care to offer a recommendation for a Mac-compatible all-in-one (printer/copier/scanner/ +/-fax)?
I am thinking about the Canon PIXMA MX860. My only concern about it is I currently have a (much) older Canon that uses Canon's MP Navigator 2.0 software and I find it somewhat clunky and buggy (and the included OCR is crappy).
Curious if anyone knows if the MX860 comes with better Mac software. Or if there are better alternatives to this all-in-one.
I need to find a good scanner / printer for an Intel MAC for my COO, laser if possible but not necessary. I'm more interested in something that has scanning software or can be used by Adobe Acrobat to scan PDF's etc. Something that won't need all kinds of third party to actually use the scanner.
I have an hp photosmart 4200 that is plugged into an airport base station.
One problem though... When I scan something I have to break out my laptop and plug it into the printer directly to get the scan. The printer, as far as I can tell won't send out the scan via the airport.
If I buy the new photosmart with wifi & Bluetooth and put it in the other room will it send my scans to my iMac in the other room?
Sounds like it should but I've yet to see that work.
I can print wireless but I can not scan wireless. Why? I am connected by wire from the canon 490 direct to my airport so why is it the scanner will not work? Can anyone explain ?
A few days ago I finally upgraded my iMac G4 (Flatpanel) from 10.4.9 to 10.4.11. I had not printed or scanned anything since then, but today I needed to do both, and they don't work. I think it has something to do with the upgrade because they were working just fine before that.
The printer is an Epson Stylus 777i
The Scanner is an Epson Perfection 640U
What could have changed, and how can I get my Mac and peripherals to work together again?
i have old dell desktop (without monitor), lexmark all in one printer (which does not support Mac OS), Samsung laser printer (which also does not support Mac OS), Windows Laptop and a NEW iMac with wireless broadband router.
Question is because the old printers are not compatible with new imac, I need some solution to print and scan.
My options are:
- Connect old printers to desktop PC tower and connect PC tower to router via ethernet and use printers via sharing.
- Connect printers to windows laptop as needed but this restricts the use.
- Get rid of the two printers and desktop tower (which is not needed for anything else) and buy a new wireless all in one printer which works over both mac and windows. I can get 30 for the old desktop at local trader but nothing for printers as they are deemed worthless.
So I purchased a brother MFC 290C so I could both print and fax.
I was able to hook it up to my airport extreme base station (the n version) and set up the printing function from multiple computers. So I am happy with that.
However I am unable to set up the network scanning function because I need 1 of 2 pieces of info:
Either the IP address for the printer OR the mDNS service name..
Now the printer is hooked in to the base station using the USB port. What is the easiest way to find its IP address? I am not allowed to enter anything for mDNS, I have to browse, and I can not see any choices when I browse for it.
Dell 3115cn Multifunction Printer..Does anyone have any information how to use the Dell 3115cn scanner on Mac OSX macbook pro? Or rather has Dell updated the driver permitting us to use the scan function via usb?
