The printer prints copies in a very light grey colour. I would like it to give a normal black print. It is the driver. If so where do I get an update for the driver. Or what else can it be.

I have just bought new colour printer and do not want to waste money printer all documents in colour!!Â
Rather than having to remember to go into options and force to B&W each time, can I set it to default?Â

I was trying to install Windows XP Pro, but for some reason the it wasn't showing another HDD to install Windows on. So I quit the install, and restarted my computer. Now all that happens is the normal grey screen appears (with no Apple logo), then it goes to a black screen and has the blinking cursor (Kinda like DOS).

the first image i absolutely cannot see, it is 100% pitch black.. the other bellow it shows up just fine. But the two left/lowest squares on the color table on the very bottom the page both appear the same shade of pitch black.
I can see light but not dark. I tried callibrating and adjusting brightness and contrast.
I just got a new mid 09 macbook pro no matter how I calibrate the screen. the dark/deep blue will always look like purple colour.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a 13" MBP 2.53GHz, and I absolutely love it. However, I have one issue. I am using an Apple display port to DVI adapter to run the MBP in clamshell mode with my Samsung 221BW monitor. On websites or programs with a dark grey background, the screen flickers. The resolution is set to 1680x1050 (native) and 60Hz.
Does anybody else have this problem? Any ideas as to fixing it?
When I start typing on my imac after a few letters it freezes and background goes dark grey.Need to click on last letter with cursor to get it out of grey.

I have a 28" inch display attached to newest version of Air. Works ok except when I have a full screen on plain dark grey background, then I see a waviness or flickering effect. Like the dark grey in Iphoto background. Other than this, the other colors seems ok. Pictures are fine, even when dark. Maybe there's a slight flickering with dark blue. Any explanations for this.
using mini display port to dvi. Tried with a friends dual link display, was a little different, but still unstable looking in dark grey when it fills the screen.
Could it be just what it takes to make this color, or the Hertz, which is 60. Other than this, no problem with the screen.
My menus in OS X 10.5.6 have changed from a blackish gray to a brownish bronze.Its not every application, but Spotify got it.It also affects some websites like the top menuat apple.com, this does show in Safari, and notin FireFox.This can be best described with a screen shot. Do you know how to change it back

So I've got my MBP that I've had for about 4 months, the thing is. It just recently started to have screen flickering issues. I'll be sitting doing w/e as usual and all of a sudden the display goes dark, almost black, for a second, then comes back up again. I have yet to find any trend in when this is happening, but it is definitely happening on battery as well as plugged in, but it seems to be getting worse.any one have any idea what this could be, something I can fix on my own, or should I take it in?

I went on to use it and the colour was a yellow/orange looking colour and it changes the way pictures and text look on the computer. Is there a way I can troubleshoot this problem or is it something to do with the monitor itself?

When I try and print an AppleWorks document, instead of the expected black text it comes out as pale grey.
When I do a print preview it is displayed as black, and when I create a PDF from the appleworks document it prints out perfectly.
So, i have this HP w2207 monitor that is amazing, but lately it has been randomly going black, then coming right back on as if nothing is wrong... its not trying to sleep or losing power because the indicator at the top is normal.
There is no regular interval, sometimes it will do it 2 or 3 times in a row, some days it won't do it at all.
Please help, this is super annoying!!!!

Does not power down, just screen goes black.Contacted support via phone, they had me shut down, unplug power cord, then plug in and start. I just got an HP Photosmart C4250 and it doesn't print with the black cartridge. Yes, it's cartridge is properly installed inside of the printer but I really have no idea what it could be.
Is there a change the cartridge that came with in the box with it might just be defective or what?
I think this is the correct forum to ask this. I have an HP Photosmart c3150 all-in-one printer that I am trying to get to work with my white g3 laptop (running system 10.4.11). I have downloaded the appropriate drivers and all however the printer won't print any black ink. It prints color fine, and it scans fine, it just won't print with the black ink cartridge. When printing text (all black) it goes through the motions of printing but he page is blank when it comes out. I can print in color, and it prints fine (but with the obvious lack of black tones). I also tried to print using a Canon pixma ip 1500 printer and the exact same thing happened. No black ink. Both printers have black full black ink cartridges.
