MacBook :: Bluetooth Mouse - Error Connecting To Device
May 2, 2009Today my mouse ran out of batteries, so I went to get some new ones. I replaced them, the light on my mouse went on, and it seemed to be working. But, when I tried to move my clicker thing *on the computer* with my mouse, it didn't move. So, I looked at the bluetooth symbol on my computer, I'm on a MacBook, and it showed that my mouse wasn't connected. So I tried turning off the bluetooth, shutting off my mouse and turning it back on, taking out and putting the batteries back in the mouse, and none of these worked. So I went to "Browse Device" and my mouse was there, I clicked on it twice and it said "There was an error connecting to the device". I also deleted it from the bluetooth list, and I am now unable to get it back on the list!

I don't really care about the music because I have many iPods to use.
That got me to thinking though - can I simply drag files to my phone from my iMac?
If that works, then maybe I could use Automator to set up a schedule to backup some of my more important stuff, then I can take it with me.

Jan 18, 2010Just booted up a new 27" iMac and only have my Magic Mouse and wired keyboard connected. Went to the Bluetooth preferences and it shows "Apple Mouse" as connected. And then it shows another item 90-84-9j- etc. listed as not connected. The info about it reads as follows.

Jun 15, 2010i was wondering if there is a device that works as a usb hub, but connects to the computer wirelessly via bluetooth to your mac. i think this would be nice since i will have a station where my macbook pro will go every night when i buy it and i would like to simply open it and have it connect to the monitor, printer, speakers, etc. without plug in in a bunch of cables.

Jan 13, 2009I just bought an HP Photosmart C5580 printer without Bluetooth capabilities. Trying to connect it to my MacBook Pro OS X 10.5.6. When I try to set up the printer through the Bluetooth "Set up Bluetooth Device" function, I select "printer" under the list of options. Once I hit "continue", the Set Up Assistant automatically closes, and all that pops up is the Print & Fax System Preference Box. It lists the printer there, but won't allow me to do anything to actually connect the printer.
What should pop up is another box, asking me to select the printer. Under Bluetooth Preferences, it says that no devices are set up. However, it is clearly recognizing that the printer exists because when I look under "Browse Device" it is listed there. Yet it's clearly not connected since double clicking on the new listed printer only gives the message, "this device does not have the necessary services."

Mar 4, 2008I have a bluetooth mouse and keyboard that I want to share between a PC and MBP via a DVI/USB KVM switch. I think I can do this by plugging a USB Bluetooth dongle into the KVM's USB input.
If I use the MBP's built-in bluetooth then when I switch from one computer to the other via the KVM, the keyboard and mouse will stay paired with the MBP; but if I disable the built-in hardware then the dongle can provide the bluetooth capability and be switched between the computers.

May 22, 2010All time PC user and finally picked up my first Mac, a brand new 2010 2.4 MBP! Just wondering, being used to normal tap to click functions from PC machines im wondering. Do most of you MBP users use tap to click or actually use the click on the trackpad? I've noticed using the click is more accurate as far as responses, but isn't as efficient/fast as using tap to click. Can I get suggestions from you MBP users on what you guys use? I'm far in between the two so I want to know which one I probably should use so I basically "learn" to use it over time. Also, noticed when I activate tap to click and use dragging, when I start to drag a window, and find the place I want to leave it. I'll raise my finger like 1mm in the air and it still registers my finger there and will still move it. It wont unlock my finger from the drag lock unless I lift it more than 3mm off the trackpad.

OS X Mavericks :: Why Won't IMessage Or Facetime Log In And Activate On Macbook
Jun 29, 2014I just got my Macbook Air back from apple repair. I went to go facetime one of my friends and it told me to log into my Apple ID. I logged in with my info and chose my contact info (the number and email I use) and clicked next. As I waited for it to load, it did but went back to the screen where it has me log into facetime.
Also the same thing with iMessage where it will not activate my account. I have had no problems with iMessage and Facetime before on my Macbook till now.
