OS X :: Airport Extreme Setup - Can't Find Wireless Device
Jan 1, 2010I bought an Airport Extreme and am trying to set it up. I installed Airport Utility and have my Airport turned on. The problem I'm having is that Airport Utility is saying it can't find any wireless devices. I have the Airport's Internet WAN port connected to my wall's ethernet port and the Airport's status light is solid green. What I want to do is get a wireless signal from the ethernet port on my wall. Everything in the set up guide and everything I find online has to do with setting the Airport up with a DSL or Cable Modem.

Jun 14, 2012iPod Touch connected via USB and does not appear in the iTunes list. In fact 'Device' is not listed at all. I know the USB port works so it isn't this or the cable. I would like to synch my daughters iPod with her music (which we have done many, many times in the past without issue) but the device does not appear and I cannot find a way for it to be 'found'.

May 22, 2012Lately I have been having trouble with the audio. The sound doesn't work on the Macbook, and it can't seem to find any devices!
I tried plugging in headphones, but nothing helped.Â
In the time leading up to this fault, the sound in the mini jack was very poor, and sounded really bad.
When I plug my TV to the computer, by HDMI, I works fine. Even with sound. Oh, and I can't adjust the sound - it simply tells me that there is no device.

I want to get this thing on my home network without having to purchase another device as my Mini resides no more than 36" away from it.So far, I have been able to get the receiver to connect to the internet through Internet Sharing on the Mini, but it remains blind to, and invisible to my wireless network. I simply want to connect the receiver to my Mini via ethernet cable and have it see and be seen on my wireless network. url...

MacBook Pro :: Super Slow Boot / Can't Find Bootable Device?
May 5, 2010So earlier after installing a windows 7 ultimate 64 bit RTM copy into bootcamp, things started acting up;
After installing some updates for 7, rebooting, it took about a minute to get the HD icons up to even choose one, and after that it was fine, except then the windows partition eventually just had a blinking cursor in the top right and stayed there.
I went into OSx, removed the 7 partition completely! my HD is one partition for Osx, but when I boot now, it takes yearsssss to just boot to osx, but if I hold option, then I instantly get a Macintosh HD (that's it) and it will go straight away.
What do I need to do? Reinstall SL? Please god no.
Partitions seem to be all messed up, maybe I will re create a windows install, and remove it again. (Xp this time)
Edit, This happened on 2 different MBP's one a 2.8 duo after I put on 7, they both take forever to boot to OSx. (With no BC partition even on)
Mac Pro :: Won't Find Firewire 400 Device
Apr 7, 2008I've attached my external drive to my 17 inch macbook Pro, on the wirewire 400 port, and it shows up under the profiler as as "Unknown device". The same drive looks fine on my iMAC OS version on both machines is 10.5.2.
If I use the USB2.0 port on the drive and connect it to either machine it can be seen by both.
OS X :: Find Device Of PC On Network?
Dec 7, 2009I've got a rather strange thing happening...Disable ALL network interfaces, including Bluetooth, have only my Ethernet enabled, going directly to DSL modem (not router).Yet, I am picking up a computer in my network browser. I can browse this computer's shared docs just fine, and in fact, he is not setup very securely so I could easily delete his entire music and photo library or send malicious files to him (or her).
But, I am wondering how I am even seeing this device. From what I know, on a DSL connection, you should never see any other computers on that ISP. I know sometimes this will happen with Cable, but I've never seen it on DSL.How do I find the IP or MAC address of this computer? I actually work at my internet provider, and I'd like to see if I can find which customer it is and why I am picking them up on my network browser, and hopefully alleviate the problem.

Apr 22, 2012I have an iPad 2, iPad 3, and a iPhone 4S that I sync with my Mac iTunes. All have the latest software. In the past, a couple of days ago, and for months before, all three devices showed up under Devices in iTunes even though none of them were physically connected to my Mac and were often other places in the house. Then, when I downloaded updated apps I could manually sync each of my devices via iTunes. That was great. Now, all of a sudden (although I did try iCloud backup and then stopped it and reverted to NO iCloud backup), my iPad 3 ONLY shows up in Devices when it is physically connected to my Mac. And when I unhook the cable, it disappears from Devices. I've restarted iTunes and the iPad without any change in behavior. All of the General preferences and Settings are the same for all three devices (the iPad 3 was built by restoring from the iPad 2 backup). It seems I need a "refresh" button somewhere to force iTunes to find my wireless iPad 3. how to force iTunes to recognize a non-cable-connected device (like it did before)?Â

I went to MOTU's website and downloaded os x drivers, and installed them... but I still can't get the computer to see the device. Profile or whatever shows the firewire ... yet device doesn't show up

Jan 9, 2011Two days ago, I installed AppleTV at my house. Not sure if this is the culprit, but my issues started after it was installed. My MBP will works fine on my home network, then randomly loses the Internet connection. Today, I was able to catch an error message that stated another device was using my computers IP address. So, I checked the ATV, and it was not. Then, I checked my iPhone...and it was! I reset my modem, reconnected my MBP...everything was fine. I then turned on the screen to my iPhone. It happened again. I noticed the iPhone was using the same IP address as my MBP. This time, I reset the modem, and made sure my iPhone was using WiFi when I did this. Now I'm up and running. All devices are set using DHCP. Would it be better to assign Static IP addresses? I've never done this, and don't want to screw anything up.
At my house, I have a lot of wireless devices:
3 laptops
3 iPhones
1 AppleTV
1 iTouch 4G
Plugged into the modem is my desktop computer and an AT&T Microcell. Would the addition of 1 more device (AppleTV) to my network start causing these problems?

Feb 14, 2012I have a macbook 2007 with a disc drive issue. I can put a cd or dvd in the drive, and it accepts it and spins it, but nothing is coming up on the desktop. And i cannot eject the disc either with the eject button or the manual ways i've read about (holding down the trackpad button during startup, the credit card method, etc.)Â I've restarted several time and I've attempted reseeting the power management. no change. Â
I should also state that this is a drive that i have recently installed. the old one was bunk, and I have replaced it with another used one. However, it was working properly when I installed it. I have since having this current issue, gone back in a made sure everything is connected properly. Â Under the system profile it shows under ATA that no ATA device is present, and a similar message is showing under disc burning. Â
