I just bought a MacBook Air and am trying to set up iMessage but it won't activate my account. Is there a way around this at all?
Also, is my system running OS X Lion?

I just got my Macbook Air back from apple repair. I went to go facetime one of my friends and it told me to log into my Apple ID. I logged in with my info and chose my contact info (the number and email I use) and clicked next. As I waited for it to load, it did but went back to the screen where it has me log into facetime.
Also the same thing with iMessage where it will not activate my account. I have had no problems with iMessage and Facetime before on my Macbook till now.
I downloaded the iMessage in MAC beta but can not activated my apple ID account. I tried many times and even uninstall and reinstall. It does appear my Google Talk in account with active function but not sure works or not.Â

I upgraded from Yosemite 10.10 to 10.10.1 a bit over a week ago. I am using a Mac Pro (Mid-2010). iMessage worked fine after my upgrade from Mavericks 9.5 to Yosemite 10.10. When the 10.10.1 upgrade came out, I upgraded. Now, I cannot activate iMessage. I get a message that basically says my Apple ID is not recognized. The same Apple ID and iMessage work fine on my rMPB (late 2013) running the upgraded Yosemite 10.10.1. I have not, in all my attempts to activate, received the error code that some folks mention.Â

I have provided a wrong email address in setting up my iCloud account. Hence, I have not been able to verify my account and use iCloud. What should I do next ?

Years ago I purchased a number of songs in my library using a corporate email address that is no longer valid and I do not remember the password. View 5 Replies View RelatedAll time PC user and finally picked up my first Mac, a brand new 2010 2.4 MBP! Just wondering, being used to normal tap to click functions from PC machines im wondering. Do most of you MBP users use tap to click or actually use the click on the trackpad? I've noticed using the click is more accurate as far as responses, but isn't as efficient/fast as using tap to click. Can I get suggestions from you MBP users on what you guys use? I'm far in between the two so I want to know which one I probably should use so I basically "learn" to use it over time. Also, noticed when I activate tap to click and use dragging, when I start to drag a window, and find the place I want to leave it. I'll raise my finger like 1mm in the air and it still registers my finger there and will still move it. It wont unlock my finger from the drag lock unless I lift it more than 3mm off the trackpad.
