This question will probably make me look like a total noob. But I can't find info on the Apple website. I've purchased Apple Care from a third party seller. Now I got the code emailed, without instructions. How do I activate this protection plan?
View 2 RepliesI have purchased a Macbook Pro back in August of 09. I didn't intend to move back to Europe, but it happened. I have been sorta reluctant to buy Apple Care back. However in the lights of what recently happened in my daily life, I may use Apple Care for my uMBP. I would like to know if this is possible to buy Apple Care Protection plan for a machine purchased in the States. I know the terms applied are global, but I have my reserves as to buying AC outside of the country/region where the purchase as occured.

View 5 Replies View RelatedBought my IMac a year ago, got the applecare plan and am good until 2014; however, it would be great if I could renew my applecare plan after the initial plan. or just before, the plan expires. The applecare staff is great to deal with, but it's a nice feeling to know that I can access them after the first 3 yrs. of ownership. I bought my IMac with the knowledge that I wouldn't need to upgrade my hardware as often as I did with a PC, and although I understand I can still recieve assistance on a case by case basis, it would be easier, and more cost effective, to have the option of extending my plan if I choose to. Just a thought. and am hoping that Apple will listen and offer something for its customers like this. Am an owner of the IMac, and IPad2, Ipod touch and will be buying an IPhone 5 when they are released.

First I would like to say hello to everyone and soon I will (finally) enter the Mac world. I've been a 50-50 type of guy (Apple/Microsoft) and I had the majority of the multimedia Apple products without actual Macs though. I was tempted to buy a MacBook before but I always wanted something sleek, sexy yet with a good sauce of performance since I am not a heavy usage type of guy and for gaming I will be getting a 360 Slim later on. Finally that day has come and I will be buying the ultimate 11". Question is, is it worth the extended Apple Care plan? I searched for answers on the official Apple site, googled up for a couple of days but I didn't find exactly what I wanted. Does it cover (for example) accidental damage? Or what are the real advantages of having an extended Apple Care plan? Since it will be my first Mac I will want to take extra care with it.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have two computers (an iMac and a MacBook). I am about to buy Office 2008 Student + Home, but I'm wondering about the activation part. Can I install it on both computers? From what I understand, the license for Office for Windows allows you to install on one desktop and one laptop. Is that true of 2008?
If not, will activation be a problem (In other words, does the activation expire, like with Windows? Meaning, I can activate it on different hardware after about 3 to 6 months)?
I have several folders shared over to my windows XP. I am trying to add another one but it won't let me select it. I can see where the check mark is supposed to go but it won't let me put a check mark in it.

Long story short:
Trying to activate CS3 on a PB G4, and it says it was activated twice already.
I used to have CS3 on my mac mini, but i now have CS4, and CS3 won't deactivate.
It starts out okay, but then says i dont have an internet connection when (obviously) I do.
I just wanted to know if there was a fix before I go through the burden of calling Adobe.

And now I want to deactivate atime (so to activate noatime) and I can't do it. Well, I have done everything like written here [URL] but after typing mount nothing have happened I didn't see noatime. Who knows the solution of these problem? May be in last iMacs we can not activate noatime cause OS X doesn't need it?

I'm excited about contextual services such as right clicking, convert to spoken word etc. Well I go right click some text and nada. I right click some pictures and nada. Do I have to activate this feature? I've even made my own service with automator and it doesn't pop up either.

[URL:...] Import zip file and activate. Takes 2 seconds. Now if I can only have my old rainbow back that would be nice. I guess that will be the next test to make my own and see if it works. If I extract a pattern and right click and say compress. It also imports. So it works just as the original. So it shouldn't be too hard to make my own designs and rezip them. I just don't remember what info.plist does or how to edit that if I use my own design.
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy late '08 MBP (10.6.2 OSX) seems to be having issues with the screensaver not coming on. I have the screen saver set to come on in 5 minutes (set in preferences) and the display to turn off after 10 yet when I left the room and came back 30 minutes later, the screen was where I left it.
I double checked the settings and tested it out again...no screen saver. If I throw my mouse in one of the hot spots, it will activate the screen saver yet the display won't turn off after 15 minutes.
I downloaded it - now what? How do I activate /use cocktail?
