It's always been nice, but restricting. I like to move my room around, and My desk is forced to stay right next to that rack to transmit audio to my receiver via a hard wire. Seeing as my iMac has bluetooth built in, I was wondering if it is at all possible to send stereo high quality audio over bluetooth to some sort of receiver that would feed into two RCA plugs... Now, I'm not talking audiophile quality, this is just a $400 sony rig, no crown audio here, but I dont want it to sound like those old 900mhz wireless headphones with all the interference. Is this at all possible? Or am I doomed to either staying put, or running 5' of cable under my carpet?

If I use the MBP's built-in bluetooth then when I switch from one computer to the other via the KVM, the keyboard and mouse will stay paired with the MBP; but if I disable the built-in hardware then the dongle can provide the bluetooth capability and be switched between the computers.
I've got a MacBook Pro 15" Early 2011 and I see unknown bluetooth devices under Bluetooth in System Preferences.
I never used Bluetooth on my MacBook but these devices appear.Â

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.2)
This isn't directly related to macbooks but if I want to use the bluetooth built into my computer to connect to my non bluetooth printer can I buy any USB bluetooth dongle to plug into the printer ( Kodak all in one 5300) or do I need some specific kind? All the ones I look at don't mention anything about printers just connection between computers and phones.

I would like to not have to run another cord to my computer and would like to play music from my computer via bluetooth. I can purchase a bluetooth receiver and plug it into the back of my stereo.
View 3 Replies View RelatedSo if I bought a bluetooth base station from logictech or the tunestage 2 from belkin, could I just stream music from my macbook pro to my stereo? I mean, it's bluetooth to bluetooth, right? Or must I use that logitech bluetooth attachment for the ipod and plug it into the 3.5 mm audio out jack of the macbook pro as well?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've shied away from wireless keyboards in the past because I do alot of online baking and investment activities from my computer. I also love a clean workspace and a wireless keyboard could remove yet another wire from my desk. Do you consider wireless and/or bluetooth keyboards safe?

Hey guys..>I'm trying to set up my jabra bt200 bluetooth headset to work with my mac (osx 10.4.2, 15" powerbook 1.67ghz)...and I can get it to pair, but it won't stay connected for more than a split second. this is a problem i've seen a few people have, looking around on various forums and stuff, and i was trying various solutions when i decided to try doing a firmware upgrade on the internal bluetooth module. I downloaded the firmware updater (1.2), tried to run it and it came up with the following error:
"This computer does not have an Apple Bluetooth module installed. It cannot be updated by this application."
Why would my Powerbook not have an Apple Bluetooth module?!?!?! It's got bluetooth installed, it's internal, but looking at the system profile, it says it's the manufacturer is Cambridge Silicon Radio. So is this normal or what? Is the firmware upgrade even going to help me out in the end? Just to clarify...the powerbook came with bt installed factory...it's not something added by me!
I am trying to import music from my brother's mobile phone to my macbook (itunes) via bluetooth connectivity.I can send one file at a time from his phone but obviously this is very time consuming so am trying to find a shorter method. When i go to import playlist in itunes, the phone is not recognised in 'my devices'.

View 3 Replies View RelatedWith the modem I am currently using, I connect it VA bluetooth to my macbook pro. Now, when I try to listen to music with my bluetooth headphones at the same time I am using my modem the music from my headphones skips quite a bit. If I shut off my modem, I can play music 100% fine to my headphones - without skips. Is it possible to be using my modem and playing music to my bluetooth headphones without my headphones skipping the music?
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I finally install the latest updates from Apple, and reboot, and now my Bluetooth icon says "Bluetooth Unavailable". I have a 1.5Ghz PowerBook G4 with internal Bluetooth. I've been using BT since I got this thing in late 2004. Now the icon doesn't even show up in the control panel.
Has anyone else had this problem? I kind of need the BT to use my current setup. And I'm out of AppleCare time. (It's an OLD laptop.)
About half the time the bluetooth works fine, but the other half of the time the mouse jumps all over the screen like the bluetooth signal is bad or something.
I tried both an Apple bluetooth mouse, and a logitech DiNovo mouse and had the same problem with both of them so the mouse isn't the problem.
?Are there known issues with the MacBook Pro bluetooth?
What does bluetooth do on my mbp?

Suddenly my bluetooth appeared with this icon and doesn't appear on System information and Preferences. I tried to reset vram, smc, shutdown, restart, etc with any success.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have two MacBook Pros, each about 6 months old. They are both running the latest version of Lion. Neither one will pair with any bluetooth device. I always get an error message saying "this device does not have the necessary services".I have a Canon printer that won't pair, and I thougth it was just a compatibility issue until I tried to pair a Jawbone Jambox (which used to pair), and a brand new Bose portable speaker. I get the same message every time.

My Mac Mini loses connection with my Onkyo receiver NR-609 after turning off the receiver then back on. The only way to reistablish the connection is to unplug then replug the HDMI cable to the Mac Mini. There's no effect if I unplug then replug the HDMI to the receiver.

I would LOVE to pair a decent Bluetooth headset to the laptop for DVDs, iTunes while I surf/Facebook/etc. However, whenever I look on the Apple or CNET websites for Bluetooth headsets, all I can find are headsets for iPhones, MP3 players, etc, but none that indicate use with a MacBook or a laptop. Can someone tell me if I can get a Bluetooth set for this purpose and what modifications or upgrades, if necessary, are needed? More tech data related to my system are shown below in case it helps answer questions I'm not smart enough to ask.
Please don't tell me magic mouse. I hate that thing with a passion. Maybe it's the shape of my hand i dunno....but i srsly hate it.

View 16 Replies View RelatedI just purchased a new set of BT speakers from Sharper Image and successfully paired it with my MBA (1.6/80).. and it sounds terrible I am fussing with the equalizer without much luck. What makes it worse is that I paired the speakers with my Blackberry 8300, and the phone sounds absolutely awesome playing the same mp3 file.. Has anyone notices anything about the sound output of the MBA, especially over BT?? Anything I can do to fix this?
