May 17, 2012Since I updated my Mac Air software, I keep getting a message about "additional plug required." Then when I click on download, I get the message that no plug found.

Mar 7, 2009I have the Windows XP SP1 disk that came with my old computer. I know that OEM disks don't work, but i successfully install Windows onto bootcamp every time i try, and it works perfectly. The only thing is, I can't install the bootcamp drivers which let me access wifi because i don't have sp2. I can't slipstream, because the disk has updates integrated inside of it, and whenever I try to install SP2 from the sp2 install file i dl'd from the microsoft site, it always gives me a "4 additional megabytes required" error. I added 5 gigabytes. and it still has this error.

Jun 4, 2010I have imac 24. There is a small window that popped up and says,"Additional software is required for quicktime to playback this media. It may be available from the quicktime components page. Make sure your internet connection is active, then click the continue button to check for the software."The problem is is that I am not trying to use quicktime and nor is it running currently AND when the cursor is over the window it just spins the color pin wheel. This window will not go away. I cannot drag it, close it or press continue on it. I have cleared all cookies, cache and reset safari and nothing works. I restart my computer and it is gone for maybe a few minutes and then it reappears .

Jan 31, 2012I'm trying to work on compiling a "family video" with clips from my siblings. They all use PCs and I'm the only Mac, but they're sending me Mpeg files that I can't open. I get a notification that I need "additional software" in order to open those files and get them working in iMovie.

Software :: Additional Software Is Required For QuickTime To Playback / Trouble With QT?
Nov 16, 2008i'm having trouble with some QT that I try to open. When I open the file, I get this message saying:
"Additional software is required for QuickTime to playback this media. It may be available from QuickTime Components page. "
I click [Continue] and it takes me to this page, which is a bunch of downloadable QuickTime Components. I don't know which component to download to fix my problem!
I guess there's one more thing that will probably help resolve this problem... I don't see any video just heard audio
Also, I am currently running:
QuickTime Pro Version 7.5.5 (249.13)
I selected the Movie Inspector? at "format" the info says:

Jun 7, 2009if there is any way to have some extra power for my macbook because I'm not going to be able to plug in to a power source for quite sometime. I will be flying overseas and will not be able to plug into a power source (no biz class or first class for me) and was looking for an affordable way to be able to use my laptop for more than the time the battery lasts, which isn't all that long.

May 12, 2012I currently run my MacBook in clamshell mode with an external monitor, keyboard, etc. I have researched usb to VGA or DVI conversion kits but all of the sources seem outdated. I don't need HDMI because my sound output goes through my MiniPort Display, out through speakers connected to my primary monitor. I am aware that a usb connection will come with lag, but it isn't that big of a deal.Â

Oct 30, 2010I have the Black Macbook 13" (from mid 2007). Model A1181. I think it was the 2.16Ghz, 160GB. OSX 10.4. I need help finding what Logic boards work with my Mac. Mine is broken and I need to replace. I will be looking at used or at least ones on ebay to minimize the cost. From the research that I have done. It looks like I can used any of the following:
661-5033 2.4GHz
661-4397 2.16GHz Black
661-4220 2.0 GHz black
*update* Upon further review I believe that I have found the Logic Board number. On the board itself it lists 820-1889-A? Sound correct. I do get hits when I google it. I guess my question is what is interchangeable with this?

Dec 28, 2010I'm aware that with windows computers you need to defragment regularly to keep processes running top notch. However, I read that the macbook runs on fragmentation, thus, defragging is not necessary.
However, I saw in another thread that defragging is also important for a macbook. My question is:

Mar 13, 2010Let me preemptively state that I know very little about computers. This problem is most likely easy to fix, but I wouldn't know where to start. We have wireless internet here in my house, and my MacBook will not connect to it. It's a Netgear router, and my Mac tells me I need a password to connect to it. We don't have a password set on our router. So, every time it tries to connect, it says that an error occurred. How do I get rid of this password thing? I just want to use the WiFi!

Mar 15, 2010I have a MBP, it had a flickering screen (graphics card), so I got it fixed under warranty, then about a month after the fix, the MBP refused to wake - I took it back again and it was fixed.
Now the MBP is experiencing repeated kernel panics - especially after the any system update - there were a few recently.
The only solution seems to be switching the machine off and letting it cool.

Mar 23, 2012I have System Preferences applications like Fan Control, Apple Qmaster, and others that require the System Preferences to quit and reopen, when I click one of the apps it used to tell me it needs to quit and reopen and then it open and load the application, but now it quits and doesn't reopen, when I open it myself the same message appears that it needs to quit and reopen, and the application never opens.Â
