MacBook Air :: STM Jacket Extra Small Laptop Shoulder Bag - "perfect Fit For 11"

Nov 9, 2010

I know theres a bunch of bag threads, but thouht I'd share another: [URL] At first I was only looking at just the "laptop space" specs for the Jacket Extra Small bag and it reads 7.6 x 11.8 x 1 in. If you compare that with the MBA specs, that would be an extremely tight fit, since the MBA is already at 11.8 in width.

I was going to email them until i just read the last bit on the product information: "Designed for most 11" netbooks and perfect fit for the 11" MacBook Air". I was so focused on specs that I missed this simple line of information. But anyway, for strictly MBA 11.6" users wanting something uber minimal, this seems like a pretty nice choice to add to the growing list of MBA 11" bags alongside sfbags.

MacBook Pro :: Slim Case With A Shoulder Strap

Jun 27, 2010

I recently purchased a 17" MBP and need a case for it. I want more protection than a neoprene sleeve, but don't need a full-fledged work bag (I already have one). I really like the style and protection of the Booq Vyper XL2, but it has no shoulder strap. I am really afraid I would end up dropping it, as I usually have my hands full on the way to/from work.

MacBook :: Knomo Sleeve With Shoulder Strap Review

Apr 10, 2009

I have to confess: I have too many messenger bags. I do not know why everything must turn into a collection; DVDs... books... glasses and sunglasses do not count as I just keep breaking them so can do with a few spare ,... now messenger bagsAluminium 13" Macbook owner. For that I currently own theKnomo Stirling Messenger : Product Page | Youtube ReviewWrappers Cordura Sleeve : Product Page | My Photoshe Stirling is mostly great. You can see the YouTube review which covers most of the good points (and bad), but not mentioned on there is that not only is it slim + upright, but also designed to hug your body - all of which is great for keeping it discreet and lower profile than a standard messenger bag.
But on some days I just do not want to carry all that much. I do not feel the Wrappers alone is sufficient, so off to the Apple store I went for a slim fitting sleeve bag with a shoulder strap. An iPod case was not all I purchased...

MacBook Air :: What Specs Would Make It Perfect For College

Jun 17, 2012

I've decided I'm going to get a MacBook Air for college, but I want to make sure it's the best possible for my four years as an undergraduate so I don't have to get a new one over this time period. For the processor: how much of a speed difference will there be between the i5 and i7? I'm thinking the i7 will be a better choice, but I really don't know what the difference will be. For RAM: 4gb should be plenty for four years, right? Right now I have a late 2008 aluminum MacBook with only 2gb of RAM and only recently did I notice it to start getting slow. Storage: My biggest concern. Will 256gb last me four years? I will be bringing an external hard drive, but I plan on only really using that for Time Machine backups and storage for photos. Should I make the jump to 512gb?

Windows On Mac :: 7 Via Bootcamp - Perfect Install On Macbook Pro / Not Installing On Pro

Jun 17, 2009

I got the Windows RC1. I installed it perfectly with bootcamp on my macbook pro, no problems, no issues. On that install I partitioned the one and only drive in the notebook. I then went to install it on my Desktop mac pro. I wanted to allocate a complete drive to it, so I dropped in a WD blue in the 3rd bay. Formatted it, I tried both ways. Partitioning & dedicating the entire drive to windows 7. Neither worked. It started the install everything seemed normal until you get to the prompt screen to format the boot camp disk.

Your thoughts....

Only need something to print. No scanning, faxing or other functions! Hoping we can get Canon that is compatible with the inkjet 40 and 41 cartridges as we already have a printer that uses those.

Applications :: How To Create A Perfect Audio Cd Copy

Jan 16, 2010

I am a music freak so, as many of you may understand, I spent a lot of time with cds, vinyls, itunes and all the beautiful things involving these stuff.

The problem is that:

I want to create a perfect copy of my cds. I use XLD and I encode my cds into .WAV a single .WAV file with it's .CUE. However, when I burn these .WAV files to an audio cd, there is a tiny problem. When I switch to the next song for example from track 1 to track 2 or from 3 to 4 etc track 2 starts a second lets say after it should be (like in the original cd). However, if you hear the whole cd, it sounds perfectly there are no stops between songs etc.

The procedure I follow is this:

1. Open XLD

2. Encode the cd into .WAV as a single file with .CUE

3. Open .CUE file with text edit, and I change the FILE "01 Unknown Artist - Unknown Title.wav" WAVE to FILE "01 Unknown Artist - Unknown Title.bin" BINARY

4. Open Toast

5. I drag the .CUE file there

6. Burn

OS X V10.7 Lion :: Import Perfect Csv Spreadsheet Into Address Book?

Jun 16, 2012

I have spent almost two years perfecting my excel spreadsheet with columns exactly matching the fields in address book, and saved as a CSV. When I try to import up comes a two-column list, fine up until column 8, where it suddenly starts saying "do not import" and "ignore" and "in use". I fiddle for hours but don't know what it means. Experiments lead to fields in the wrong places.

Hardware :: Perfect Apple Keyboard - Multitouch For Desktop Users

May 8, 2009

I'm bad at Photoshop. I really wish for the 3 user customizable keys, personally I would use the top two buttons for previous/next Space, and the bottom key to switch to my iTunes. And the trackpad to the right could be used for customizable multitouch gestures, so you can move around spaces easily, scroll with 2 fingers if you have a desktop and not a laptop, etc. I think it's very important that Apple includes multitouch for desktop users and not just laptop people.

MacBook Air :: Is It Worth Extra 300 To Go With 13inch?

Oct 27, 2010

This is the hardest decision for me. Do i go with a 4GB setup 11.6 inch laptop or spend the extra 300 to get. better cpu, better battery life, SD reader and More screen re-estate.I don't want the macbook air to be too fast that it will replace my 2007 macbook (which will soon be a mac-mini 2.4GHZ). How are you guys liking your 13 inch vs the 11.6 inch? I see more people at the mac store going nuts over the 11.6 inch.

MacBook Air :: Can Determine Where The Extra Storage Went

Nov 5, 2010

Yesterday I completed a 4 hour backup of my 64 Gb iPad on my 11" MBA. I started with 75 GB available before I synced and backed up my iPad and then checked it again after the sync completed and ended up with 67 GB available. I can't figure why I dropped so much storage after everything backed up. I checked my mobile sync folder and can only attribute 2.25 GB as my backup size for my ipad which means I lost an additional 5.75 GB and is being tied up somewhere on my flash drive. Could anyone please give me a suggestion or idea in how I can determine where the extra storage went?

MacBook Pro :: Black Worth The Extra $200 Dollars?

Jan 23, 2008

I tried searching the forums and came up with nothing. I am going to buy a new macbook and trying to decide whether the black macbook is worth the extra $200 dollars. I am going to be buying it from an actual apple store, so i guess i will be getting the base model hdd for the machines. I know that the white comes with 120gb and the black comes with 160gb but that doesn't matter to me at the moment since i can easily upgrade. From your experiences, is it worth to get the black or save the $200 dollars. I am coming from an iBook, so i have dealt with a white computer before.

MacBook Pro :: Extra Or External Battery For 15"

Sep 12, 2009

I bought a MBP 15" at the end of Dec 2007. It has been great for my needs up till now. I went back to college and use it for note taking in my classes. Unfortunately after the first week I found that other then a couple days, I don't have a big enough break between my classes to recharge the battery and during class I am not even near a power outlet. As it is not I get 3-4 hours out of the battery fully charged which covers 1 1/2 classes. I've been thinking of getting an extra battery from the apple online store as my school does provide a discount for it. But it might be more of a pain cause I'd have to charge 2 batteries seperate every night. My other choice is getting an external battery such as Hypermac but it is more expensive to go this route. Is it worth buying the Hypermac or should I buy the extra battery? [URL]
