Is there a way to enable a MBPro give more amperage to PSVita like iPad.. As you know when Mac detects and iPad connected to the USB port, it gives extra 1,5 A over 500mA standard USB port. Could we use the same thing for Sony's PS Vita? Or is this an Apple only feature like Apple backing its own products..

Getting fustrated with my Macbook Pro 15''. Could never get battery to last more than 5-6 hours. This is the MAX i can achieve, with great pains to enhance battery life.
Argh, what's wrong with my Macbook Pro?
Check out the amperage drain. At this rate the Macbook Pro wouldn't last more than 5 hours. This is with half brightness, only finder and Chrome open, and the battery recently calibrated.
The amperage drain increases to -1400+ when i have more tabs open, and a few other apps.
However there was this ONE RARE OCCASION, where my Macbook Pro would only drain between -700 to -800 amperage. This was in normal usage and the battery easily lasted closer to 8 hours. But somehow, i can never replicate this anymore!
I bought a movie on my ps vita through the playstation store app and I followed the instructions to transfer to my Mac with content manager. It appeared to work but I can't find movie on my Mac. I want to move it into iTunes. I didn't buy it from iTunes because I had more money in my playstation account. I looked under movies folder and searched for it but I don't see it.

This is the hardest decision for me. Do i go with a 4GB setup 11.6 inch laptop or spend the extra 300 to get. better cpu, better battery life, SD reader and More screen re-estate.I don't want the macbook air to be too fast that it will replace my 2007 macbook (which will soon be a mac-mini 2.4GHZ). How are you guys liking your 13 inch vs the 11.6 inch? I see more people at the mac store going nuts over the 11.6 inch.

I started with 75 GB available before I synced and backed up my iPad and then checked it again after the sync completed and ended up with 67 GB available. I can't figure why I dropped so much storage after everything backed up. I checked my mobile sync folder and can only attribute 2.25 GB as my backup size for my ipad which means I lost an additional 5.75 GB and is being tied up somewhere on my flash drive. Could anyone please give me a suggestion or idea in how I can determine where the extra storage went?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI bought a Mac Book Pro late 2011 2.3 i7 750gb 8gb ram moved the 750 to the optical bay then replaced it with a mushkin 240gb SSD, I love it. except I started using time machine on my 750gb internal drive and have run out of space and I thought I could control the space it uses, surprise surprise. I decided to delete my time machine saves and partition my 750gb Hard drive and when I did I get this message, Partition failed with Error: This operation requires a newer version of Mac OSX for this disk.I looked over the disk and verified and repaired it, The smart status is verified and the partition map scheme is GUID, so on paper everything looks really good.

I tried searching the forums and came up with nothing. I am going to buy a new macbook and trying to decide whether the black macbook is worth the extra $200 dollars. I am going to be buying it from an actual apple store, so i guess i will be getting the base model hdd for the machines. I know that the white comes with 120gb and the black comes with 160gb but that doesn't matter to me at the moment since i can easily upgrade. Unfortunately after the first week I found that other then a couple days, I don't have a big enough break between my classes to recharge the battery and during class I am not even near a power outlet. As it is not I get 3-4 hours out of the battery fully charged which covers 1 1/2 classes. I've been thinking of getting an extra battery from the apple online store as my school does provide a discount for it. But it might be more of a pain cause I'd have to charge 2 batteries seperate every night. My other choice is getting an external battery such as Hypermac but it is more expensive to go this route. Is it worth buying the Hypermac or should I buy the extra battery? [URL]

I have always been a PC person and have built my super computer and of course, know enough to correct, repair my computer. Is a MBP w/ the same specs of a MacMini worth the extra bucks for its portability? I plan on getting a MacMini + a Netbook (notetaking in class), but I'm also interested in the MBP. I'm taking Comp Sci classes right now so I'll be using Eclipse the netbook which is cross-platform, so the different OS between the MacMini & Netbook won't matter to me. View 13 Replies View RelatedI have a 15" MacBook Pro from a couple of years ago (2.0 GHz) and I am about to upgrade my harddrive from 75 GB to 500 GB (and from 5400 to 7200 rpm). I think I am going to simply clone my harddrive, so I bought an enclosure for my new drive to use when transferring all my data. The enclosure I purchased works with usb 2.0 or eSATA.
My question is, should I take advantage of the eSATA speeds? Do you think it's worth it? For another 50 bucks I could by an expresscard and a cable that will allow me to do the transfer via eSATA. Should I bother or should I just stick with USB 2.0? I hear USB 3.0 is coming out early next year, so I was thinking I shouldn't bother with eSATA (though 50 bucks isn't much of an investment). But I'm not about to wait for USB 3.0 to come out. Do you think it would be worth spending the money to get the extra speed for this transfer? My 75 GB drive is almost full.
I have a problem using my Lexmarkt T620 printer with OS Lion.It prints everything as I want. But it adds at every printed job an additional page with only a few words on it and including information about the printed file. Something like ERID.I've never seen anything like this and I don't want to waste more paper when printing with my Lexmark.

I have installed 4GB of extra ram to my MBP 13" (late 2010) to increase the performance of virtual machines. Though the VirtualBox doesn't recognize the 8GB of ram when i try to create a new machine for Windows XP 32-bit or Windows 7 64-bit. I haven't tried it with other operating systems. I have also reinsalled the VirtualBox but it didn't work.

Ive been waiting and waiting for the iMac to be updated, I held out hope for it at WWDC but we all know how that turned out. My question is 2.3ghz VS 2.6ghz Retina is it worth the extra money? I know you also get another 256gb of space but man $600 is a lot. So it hinges on the 2.3-2.6 upgrade as i think i can live withough the extra disk space. If you compare that with the MBA specs, that would be an extremely tight fit, since the MBA is already at 11.8 in width.
I was going to email them until i just read the last bit on the product information: "Designed for most 11" netbooks and perfect fit for the 11" MacBook Air". I was so focused on specs that I missed this simple line of information. But anyway, for strictly MBA 11.6" users wanting something uber minimal, this seems like a pretty nice choice to add to the growing list of MBA 11" bags alongside sfbags.
I have a Macbook Pro core 2 duo era 2007, OS 10.6.8, with an interesting problem I've not encountered in reading other issues. Here's the system profile, to get that out of the way: [code] Enabled Other than the faulty video card that seems standard for this run of the Pro, I have never had an issue. I have just replaced the battery from the original battery that came with the computer. It was useless to the extent of the word, but my budget did not allow me to purchase a new battery until recently. The battery info only stated "Replace Now" and the LED meter no longer functioned. The battery held no charge, and the computer only ran off of wall power. Up until a few days before I replaced the battery, this provided no trouble. However, it began one day to startup extremely slowly (5 minutes or more on the Apple logo startup screen, and then more time to load dock/top screen toolbar/etc. It also failed to recognize the external HD I frequently use with this computer. My theory was that it was simply underpowered on account of the failed battery, and the internal HD or the CPU was just not able to run properly. I finally put a new battery in hoping that it would fix the issue, but no avail. My startup time seems slightly less, but it seems as if the computer has not loaded interface protocols, as the computer is unresponsive to attempts to open the dock or a finder window, or even hover over battery or volume icons. After 5-10 minutes it finally kicks in and I can use my computer without problem, with the exception of the external HD, which will still not load.I have run disk utility, verified my HD, no errors reported. I have the activity monitor up which shows a pretty minimal load on the CPU and disk usage. Nothing I can think of would explain the problem my computer has suddenly adopted.

I bought a PCIe eSATA card for my Mac Pro and have installed it, and the system sees it and I'm able to install drivers, but disks aren't showing up when i plug them in.
There is a 4pin power connector on the board as well, but I think that's just so it can power external devices via the 2 power plugs it has on the back.
Are there extra 4pin power cables inside the tower, or a place for me to plug some more in?
