I have just bought a Trackpad - it says it needs to work with OS 10.6 something and I am running on 10.5.8. It also says to upgrade through the Software update - but I cannot do this, will I need to take trackpad back to store?

Why do I not have full functionality of my Magic Trackpad? I bought my Macbook Pro less than a year ago and the other night I was watching a TV show in itunes and I couldn't use the track pad. I was able to finally shut the Macbook down and the next morning I rebooted it. It was still acting weird and the trackpad was jumpy and would randomly start opening windows and menus as if someone was contriolling it remotely. I used my bluetooth mouse and it seemed to work ok until tonight when I was copying some files wirelessly (or trying to) and evey time I tried to select files the cursor would jump to another screen and open a menu and then select all and open all my file folders. I was able to get that to stop openin ght ewindows but I still can't use the track pad and the machine acts like it is possesed and has a mind of it's own. I have made sure file saring and screen sharing are off and the battery shows to be normal from doing the control+battery test.

My laptop has been having problems track pad doesn't always work, runs slow, freezes. I replaced the hard drive on advice and that didn't help. I went to disk utility and verify and repaired disk permissions, that didn't help. I went to the erase tab and I clicked on "erase free space" thinking that would "defragment" free space, like a PC has.Now all my available memory is gone.I thought I was freeing up space. Now my apps don't work correctly and I can't reinstall because I don't have enough disk space.

Recording a track this morning - 1,2,3,4,5, all going well, overdubbing acoustic rhythm, lead, vocal, and so forth-
Recording track 6, my song just comes to a screeching halt at 00:48.
Press PLAY and it just plays a split second right at 00:48.
"Loop" feature clicked on, off. Same same. Song starts at beginning, everything ok, then at 00:48, track stops. Press "play" and hear a split second of 00:48 music.
Deleted track I was working on, created new track, song halts at 00:48.
Saved project, quit GB, relaunched, song stops at 00:48.
Plenty of memory, I back up every day.
My G4 imac was stolen and I desperately want it back. I had a mobileme and idisk working in it. Can this work to track it down?

I experience this problem for 2 days now. The wi fi says it is connected and all the bars are full but id doesn't load a single page!
The internet i've got is vergin so normally is very fast.Downstairs where we have a desktop computer connected to the D-link is working as normal.
When I open the network diagnostics in mac it shows : wi fi is green , wi-fi settings is green, network settings is failed(red), ISP failed(red), Internet failed (red), server failed red.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have an Intel based Macbook running Bootcamp (Windows XP Home SP2). Option/Alt key periodically does not work under both Mac OS and Windows. It will work for a while, then stop working for a few hours. I have all of the latest updates installed on the computer. When the Option key is not working, I cannot select to boot to windows, or reset PRAM to try and fix it. I know I can boot into the Mac OS and have it reboot into Windows. This has been happening for a week now. I have not spilled anything on the keyboard, and it seemed to just startup after a week of non-use.

This solved the problem for about a day and now we can't access the internet. It seems that the network configuration has changed and although we enter the new password assigned we are we can't access.
We have tried 'restarting the device', as was suggested. We restarted the modem, then later tried, resetting the router, doing both of those at the same time, and eventually restarting the computer.

I'm a relatively new Mac user so I'm not sure if it's user ignorance or something is wrong with my computer but nothing happens when I insert a cd into the drive. Nothing shows up in iTunes, Finder, or on my desktop. Shouldn't I see an audio CD in iTunes? And if I put a blank DVD into the drive, shouldn't it show up in Finder so I can burn files to it?
