I calibrated my macbook battery the other day and it went down to 97% (shock horror), its 73 cycles and 8 months old. In desperation I smashed it with a hammer hoping it would fix it. just joking I actually drained it down to 80% and then charged again, repeated this three times. After the first time the battery life when to 4058 mAh, then the second time it went to 4090 mAh and after the third time it rised again to 4126 mAh. Original capacity is 4100 mAh

The iPad is backed up to iCloud but not sure if it included the camera pictures. Were those pictures from my camera ever backed up and is it possible to get it back installed into a new computer?

I have a Logitech Trackman Marble FX, Trackball wich I really like. However the penny dropped the other day, that it was of an era of PS2 - serial connections not USB - PS2. So when I do get my shiny new mini, will I be able to get it to work
I Have seen adapters like these and more expensive ones, but will they do the job, Although they imply they will?[URL]
Not fussed about the keyboard. I think I have a couple USB ones in the loft. And If the mouse doesnt work I'll use my graphics tablet for the short term... But I do like my little tracker ball! And I would rather spend the cash on memory than a new mouse/trackerball etc.
Last night I noticed that the time machine icon on the menu bar had a stop sign or something and when i clicked back up now it says it can not back up. I verified the volume and recommends a repair but it says it can not repair.
View 2 Replies View RelatedThis has been occurring more often in the past week or so. I'll open a message that is from Person A with Subject A. The actual message being open will be a previous message from Person B with subject B. Completely different. It just seems like a database error or something. I am using Mail with my Gmail setup through IMAP. A restart does not fix it nor does quitting and re-opening mail. The message comes through just fine on my BlackBerry. Is there some way I can refresh the messages or something?
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy son has a MacBook, but the optical drive is broken. The HD needs repairing from the disc. How do I repair his disc using the Installation CD on my MacBookPro.?
I have tried restarting his computer while pressing: command C, also optionC, furthermore option-command-C and alternatively using D instead of C, but it restarts in the administrators password window....
And on mine, I have opened migration assistant and put in the disc so its readable to my computer...
It seems I have 2 problems. The rebooting on the C-D letters don't seem to work, and is it with the migration assistant that I can hel repair the disc?
I inherited a PowerBook G4, 10.3.9, from the previous person in this job. I set up my own user account and log-in. Then foolishly I decided to rename the little house icon folder from the previous owner's name to mine. Now when I use my log-in a clean desktop comes up. In the user's folder is the house icon folder with the previous owner's name, and a folder with my name. All my documents are in that folder, so I haven't lost anything. But how do I get computer to boot back into my account?
View 2 Replies View RelatediTunes backs everything up from your iPhone that way if you want to do a restore and get everything back such as things done in apps that don't save to the cloud.
Problem I'm finding is what if I get a new computer and sell the old computer that has iTunes with the back ups of my device?
If I were to plug my iPhone to the new computer and iTunes pop up, would it take everything from the iPhone and put it on iTunes AND THEN do a backup?
I recently bought the Mac Box Set for Snow Leopard and I was wondering if I should back up my computer first or if it's safe enough to just go ahead and upgrade? Would everything disappear, like iTunes, iPhoto, etc?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI edited a wedding on Final Cut studio. Both the software as well as all my uploaded footage collected on an external harddrive. BOOM My hard drive completely becomes corrupt and I can't mount it (meaning my computer doesn't recognize the drive). I then purchased a data-recovery software and, after about two hours, recovered the corrupted files. I then downloaded "VLC" as well as "DIGITAL REBELLION" to repair the files and they cannot seem to do so. Case and point I need these MOV. files as soon as possible and I turn to this forum for guidance of any kind. My Mac is a desktop iMac. It's completely updated and I'm running on iOS X 7.3.

My MBP recently had a bunch of problems with the logic board and speakers. I brought it into the Apple Store (on Monday) and they gave me the option of them sending it into a repair center, or them repairing it locally in store. I requested that they sent out just because I was curious to see how long it would take. To my surprise, my MBP arrived, fixed and as good as new on my doorstep today. That's amazingly fast for sending it out to a offsite repair center. The repair center is in Philadelphia. I live in Maine. You do the math. When I've had things repaired locally in the Apple Store it's taken weeks to repair instead of days because they need to order the parts.
Anyways, the point of this thread was to suggest to people that they choose the offsite repair option. It's amazingly fast, and it saved me a trip to the Apple Store (they shipped my MBP directly to my house).
So I got my mac fixed and I picked it up from apple store, when I was restoring I messed with the external as I was restoring and stopped it in the middle. So I don't have a snow leopard disk or any disk with me. If I borrowed a leopard disk could I restore? I want to restore completely from the day my computer crashed.
