how can i back up my iCloud storage onto my desktop computer?Â
i have all of my data stored in iCloud which is taking up a lot of my gig bites. I was thinking if i just backed up all my iCloud data onto my desktop mac then i would get a lot more room in my iCloud storage. How to i backup my iCloud data onto my computer?
I have got for the communitiy regarding iCloud storage please.Are we, of if not, will we ever be at the stage where we can use iCloud as off-site storage for not just e-mail but documents saved in Word, Excel and Powerpoint for Apple and Photos stored in iPhoto.I ask as my Time Capsule recently packed up and was wondering with the advance of Cloud computing could iCloud replace my old storage / back-up.

I recently bought a WD Passport Essential to back up my Macbook. When I plugged in the WD Passport, my Mac asked if I want to use this storage device for my Time Machine.
1. Should I use the WD Passport as the Time Machine storage device or use the WD Passport software to run back-ups?
2. If I use it for my Time Machine, will I be able to access my files on other machines?
3. Is it possible to have files stored on the WD Passport, such as photos, but not have those files on my Macbook... if I am using the Passport for back-ups?
how do you remove back up data from the memory storage? my storage data states that i have over 80gb of data used for back ups and i dont know why as i use a external hard drive as a time machine .now my 250gb flash storage is nearly full..

I've only got 21 GB left on my iMac out of 639 GB or something (I save a LOT of videos and audios). My computer is running soooooo slow so I'm thinking that it's just got too much in there and too close to the max capacity to run faster. Am I right? Do I need to delete things or purge or what to free up storage?Â
I've already deleted a ton of files but I think they are saved in more than one place which means duplicate files all over the place I think? Not sure.
But I can't always save something to the folder I want to save it in, it goes in my downloads folder where then I have to move it to the appropriate folder to save in an organized manner. I've deleted most of my downloads folder and many videos but I'd rather save them somewhere instead and not just rely on YouTube to host and save them. Â
I have an online data backup system too, Carbonite, but I'm not sure I can save other things there that then are not still on my computer?
I could save things on a hard drive but will that really solve my sloooow computer running issues?Â

Why don't I see my macbook as using any of my icloud storage? My iphone and ipad are there and show their latest backups. Does this mean my macbook isn't backed up to icloud? I am using Lion and iCloud seems to be on in my Macbook's System Preferences. My photos stream fine and my calendar moves from my iphone to my mac wirelessly. What am I missing?

I have a macbook air 128g and am running out of storage space. I am wondering if I can use icloud as a primary storage for my media files (Photos, music, video, etc). Then I could potentially remove from hard drive to free up space. I am concerned if this is possible and what the cons would be. I am thinking that Itunes library and photos would not be as quickly accesible as it would be using the hard drive.Â

The guy I called from apple today was clueless and told me he didn't know how to do it, and then told me the wrong thing!I bought the storage under the impression that it was a useful product, but it wasn't doing what I thought it was supposed to do! I am now eligible for any iPhone upgrades and most likely will be getting the new one coming out this summer - whatever it may be. I realized today that most likely it will have 64GB of storage - the exact same size as my Macbook Air - I think it is so wild my future phone/pocket computer will have the exact same storage capacity as my main laptop.
