May 10, 2009When I open my mail app and delete a message, it deletes it from my mail app inbox. When I log on to gmail, I see the mail still there. Is there anyway to delete from mail, and have it remove the message from gmail altogether?

Currently when I delete the message in Mail, the server still keep a copy of it, which means it is not deleted on the server. I know that POP can do this but I still want the option of being able to access it from other computers. Â

OS X :: Keyboard Shortcuts Stopped Working / Unable To Cut Paste From Mail Message
Jan 29, 2009Everthing's been fine since I first setup my Mac Mini over a year ago....2 or 3 days ago I noticed when I tried to do a cut/paste from a mail message to a field (using Cmd-C Cmd-V) in a web page, it didn't work. It's alsways worked before but I chalked it up to the web form not taking "pasted" input. But then I tried from a text document to an email...same story. I highlight text with the mouse, do Cmd-C and get a "bong" sound, then go to where I want to paste, do a Cmd-V and nothing gets pasted. I take it the "bong" means some sort of error or invalid input occured?
I restarted the Mini and it worked for a while (at least when I tried it right after logging in). Then yesterday I had to restart my Mini again and the shortcuts aren't working again. If I highlight text and then right-click the mouse and select copy, then move to where I want to paste and right-click and select paste it works fine....just the keyboard shortcuts don't work. I checked the sytem prefs, keyboard pane and saw nothing out of the ordinary.....any ideas out there?

OS X :: No Contents In Headers - Unable To Delete / Move Mail
Jul 17, 2009I have a problem with my inbox, seems its corrupted in some way. I can see the headers, but no contents, cant delete or move message. All other folders seem Ok. Its from a POP3 mailbox where the originals are deleted off the server when downloaded so I'd prefer to try and recover it but I can live with losing the contents if necessary. Any ideas? Is there a tool or way to repair? I have Time Machine but I doubt the TM backup will have caught these files between them being downloaded (they came in one batch) and being corrupted as it was only a few minutes. Not sure how I could tell if TM did catch them either. TM did recover them, now I just need to work out how to empty the inbox of the corrupt messages. Worst case I can create a new email account but I'd rather not as configuring it was troublesome. Mailbox > rebuild, then move the messages from the TM mail recovered folder back to inbox.

May 29, 2012I have a folder under my Gmail account marked "All Mail" which currently has over 10,000 messages that I would like to delete. I am using the Apple email program. I am able to delete them only to have them return when I reboot my computer. I am concerned that these ever growing messsages will slow down my computer. I have worked with my internet provider, Apple tech, and gmail and no one seems to have an answer. They do not show up with I access my gmail account through the web.Â

Usually when this happens and the error box pops up I just choose another server. My project is saved onto an external hard drive, and when I start it burning, I get an error message that says "Not enough free disk space for encoding the remaining assets." It says I only have 825 MB available on my hard drive and 3.362 are needed for encoding, but I actually have 786 GB free! Any idea what could be causing this?

Jan 14, 2009This has been occurring more often in the past week or so. I'll open a message that is from Person A with Subject A. The actual message being open will be a previous message from Person B with subject B. Completely different. It just seems like a database error or something. I am using Mail with my Gmail setup through IMAP. A restart does not fix it nor does quitting and re-opening mail. The message comes through just fine on my BlackBerry. Nov 25, 2009So to the issue: I tried to send an email, not knowing it was 25mb, and obviously it did not go through. I deleted it out of my outbox, and since then it's been popping up in recovered messages non stop (current count is 96). I've deleted the files from the mail app, deleted the temporary files in the mac mail folder, deleted the contents of the deleted folder, and yet the application still "recovers" the message non stop.
Since this has happened I have not been able to obtain new messages from mac mail because it is busy with whatever it is doing

What this ends up doing is associated messages with no subject or vague subject lines together when they really are not related at all. I've attached an example; that four different conversations from four different people, and none of them are related at all, but they are all part of one thread.

Sep 28, 2010My Mail.app message windows now have an annoying additional control to the right of the "Subject" field, which pops a menu that lets me select additional Address fields to show, and a Priority field. It looks like this:

and it selected �*out of order for extra annoying! �*when you hit "Tab" in the Subject field, or shift-Tab in the body area.
I know this thing didn't used to be there, because I didn't used to hate Mail.app... how can I make it go away?
