I am trying to send an email with an attached resume to someone but every time I attach the pdf file it appears in the message. I do not want to send that way. I just want them to be able to save and open it.

Is there a way that Mail can work like MS Entourage or Outlook and more professionally attach files to the message? For example when I attach a picture or audio file its always embedded into the message at the bottom or top of the email. Outlook and Entourage do not work that way.

i am new to mac and have a new desk top. I can not attach or send attachments in mail...no problem receiving them. I am using my aol and gmail accounts in mail. If go directly to gmail i have no problems sending attachments.

Popup error comes up on my screen five times at a time and immediately reappears when I click ok. I'm using Yosemite 10.10.1 now and still had the problem before I updated. In the past I saw that this issue was resolved by uninstalling pharos but I don't have pharos installed on my computer.

How do I attach a file to an e-mail as an icon rather than the whole contents which takes up masses of space in the email.

I am stumped as to why I can't figure this out. I have been trying to send an email to someone that needs a picture as an attachment. Every time I click on the attachment icon or button in the menu, it puts the picture in the body of the email. She needs to have it as an attachment that she can download onto her computer. There has to be a way to do this, I am just not figuring it out. Could someone please give me some insight? I have tried saving to a file and attaching it from there, tried view image as an icon, but nothing seems to be working. She also needs it in a bigger file, which I think will be solved once I can attach the file without being in the body of the text. How would I make a bigger file, from 131 KB to say 400 KB?

I use Google 2-step verification. With my upgrade to Yosemite, all my text messages that previously only went to my iPhone now also appear on my Macbook Pro. In general that's fine, but it's a big security problem.  If anyone gets my computer then they immediately have access to all my 2-step codes because the codes will be sent to my Macbook in addition to my phone. Previously I only had to worry about one device (my phone) and but now there is a big problem with my computer falling into the wrong hands.Â

Usually when this happens and the error box pops up I just choose another server. The problem is that the email was going to a whole list of people and the options are lost at the bottom of the screen. I can't access the buttons. My .mac mail is no longer appearing in the desktop mail app. Cannot send or receive and folders have disappeared. Have not changed anything that I am aware of. My other account is fine. .mac mail comes in fine on iphone and ipad. When using my laptop I can get to it and send from the icould site. What would have caused this/how can I get it back? It is still listed as an account in mail preferences.

View 3 Replies View RelatedThis has been occurring more often in the past week or so. I'll open a message that is from Person A with Subject A. The actual message being open will be a previous message from Person B with subject B. Completely different. It just seems like a database error or something. I am using Mail with my Gmail setup through IMAP. A restart does not fix it nor does quitting and re-opening mail. The message comes through just fine on my BlackBerry. Is there some way I can refresh the messages or something?
