my macbook has twice now filled up it's memory trying to recover a message on the mail program from two years ago. everytime i turn on the mail program and enter my password, try to sync up my mail to my gmail account it begins recovering one specific email, over and over and over and over eventually filling up my hard drive. i have used disk utility twice to check my permissions and then repair if necessary as well as run the disk repair portion of disk utility. do i have a virus? is there a botnetfly larvae growing under my skin?

Every time I try to delete a recovered message in my email, it returns to the recovered mailbox. I've tried moving it to the junk mail and deleted mailboxes on my server as well as aol. Why won't it delete? It's blocking my incoming messages!
View 1 Replies View RelatedIn trying to send an oversized video via email (exceeded 25 MG) size limit, I got an error message. I thought I deleted the email. However, whenever email is open, the message continually gets recovered, blocking any email from being recieved. I am able to create and send emails. Internet checks out ok. Using AOL.iMap. It seems that I am not able to interrupt the continual attempts to send the original email.

I can't delete this message in Mail, it just stays greyed out in my inbox.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a macbook pro with a 750 GB hard disk. This was purchased only recently. Two months ago, it showed a message which said the hard disk was full. This was despite the fact that I had less than 10GB of pictures and music together.
When I spoke to Apple, they said that Yahoo mail tends to create a recovered messages folder, which he helped me locate and delete. This gave me 740Gb back.
It has happened once again. And i cant seem to lopcate this folder. I cannot find Mail folder either having gone through user/library etc.

View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter having had communication problems abroad using a 3G key Internet connection ( bad signal, jumping back to 2G, aborting connection suddenly, ...) I receive now systematicaly a copy of a mail I sent, one day before, to someone else, in a mailbox "recovered messages" (this is however my translation of the french name of the mailbox: ( "Messages récupérés - IMAP"). Deleting this message does'nt cure the problem: the message comes again (I do'nt know from where) and again. How to stop this reoccurant mail?

Is it possible to delete message in the server using Mail configured using IMAP?Â
Currently when I delete the message in Mail, the server still keep a copy of it, which means it is not deleted on the server. I know that POP can do this but I still want the option of being able to access it from other computers. Â
My server has only a small size, so I hope that I can just delete it from my Mail instead of having to log in to the server and delete it again.Â
I was moving my old e-mails to the archive folder in Mail and all of a sudden there is a On My Mac mailbox that appeared and there is a Recovered Messages folder. There is one e-mail in there that has pics in it, but I can't delete that message without it keep reappearing. I have deleted the e-mail from the Recovered Messages folder and it keeps coming back. I have deleted the On My Mac mailbox and it keeps coming back. I even deleted the original e-mail from my inbo. I do not know how to make this folder go away.

I have one large email that keeps multiplying in my recovered messages folder. It shows up over 8000 times and when I get them all deleted, they come right back. I can't find the cache in my computer to remove them. It has taken up all of my hard drive space.

I have recovered files sitting in my trash bin and cannot delete them ...
View 5 Replies View RelatedI use iMacs for work. I often send email messages with attachments using Mail. Often, when sending email messages to Windows users (they are out there still), they will reply that they cannot open "the second attachment." The message seems to "pick up" a second apparent attachment, which is generally just a few K in size, and is not part of the original message or attachment. Unfortunately, though, it tricks the recipient into thinking that there are two attachments and the second one is meaningful So then they respond and I have to assure them that the second attachment is irrelevant and can be ignored. Â

I'm in Mail and my trash has about 80 deleted messages. I cannot figure out how to do a mass delete. Please don't tell me this has to be done one delete at a time. I've tried a few key strokes and mouse/key combinations, but obviously not the right ones. Now, this is not in MAILBOXES, where a right click and Erase Deleted Items does the job. This is under my 'GMAIL' box, which is linked to MAIL. I can right click--erase deleted items there until I am blue in the face to no avail.

I have a folder under my Gmail account marked "All Mail" which currently has over 10,000 messages that I would like to delete. I am using the Apple email program. I am able to delete them only to have them return when I reboot my computer. I am concerned that these ever growing messsages will slow down my computer. I have worked with my internet provider, Apple tech, and gmail and no one seems to have an answer. They do not show up with I access my gmail account through the web.Â

Intel, the maker of processors for Apple's entire line of Mac computers, reported record earnings this week, with its strongest first quarter in the company's history fueled by demand for new microprocessors.Intel reported first-quarter revenue of $10.3 billion, with an operating income of $3.4 billion, net income of $2.4 billion, and earnings per share at 43 cents. Officials said it was the company's best first quarter since 1968, and CEO Paul Otellini said the industry is "nearly fully recovered.""The investments we're making in leading edge technology are delivering the most compelling product line-up in our history," Otellini said. "These leadership products combined with growing worldwide demand and continued outstanding execution resulted in Intel's best first quarter ever. Looking forward, we're optimistic about our business as Intel products are designed into a variety of new and exciting segments."
According to The Wall Street Journal, Intel's quarterly profit nearly quadrupled and revenue rose 44 percent. The company also plans to hire between 1,000 and 2,000 new workers, its largest expansion in five years. The company also has an optimistic outlook for the second quarter of calendar 2010, a three-month period that is typically slow for the computer industry.
Otellini also noted that demand for Intel's new processors has been "incredible." Among those are the new Core i7 and Core i5 chips, both of which found their way into Apple's top-of-the-line MacBook Pros with a hardware upgrade released on Tuesday. Both the 15-inch and 17-inch MacBook Pro models feature Intel Core i5 and i7 processors, as well as integrated energy efficient Intel HD Graphics processors.Using proprietary graphics switching technology, Apple's latest high-end MacBook Pros dynamically switch between the Intel integrated graphics and a new discrete Nvidia GeForce 330M graphics processor. In addition to offering battery life of between 8 and 9 hours, Apple's graphics switching also ensures compatibility with Intel's new Arrandale mobile processors, which feature the major northbridge chipset memory controller components built in.
In addition to the architectural changes Intel made with the Core i5 and Core i7 mobile processors, an ongoing lawsuit with Nvidia has forced the graphics card maker to halt the development of future chipsets. Apple's software solution also allows users to switch solely to discrete graphics and bypass Intel's low-power integrated option if they choose.addition to Apple's line of Mac desktops and notebooks, Intel supplies the processors that run about 80 percent of the PCs in the world. A global economic downturn that had a severe impact on the computer industry left a mark on Intel, but the chip maker now believes the industry is nearly out of the woods. Otellini said there are signs that companies are ready to upgrade their computers, because it is beginning to make economic sense."It is the first quarter where we have seen some real signs of PC purchases, corporate SKUs picking back up again," the CEO said. "Some of that was wrapped around our new products -- the Arrandale notebook products -- but some of that was also even just some of our older SKUs that are classic running corporate SKUs also picked up. To me that suggests the average fleet of notebooks is four years old out there. The average fleet of desktops is five years old."For the second quarter of 2010, Intel has forecast revenue of $10.2 billion, with 64 percent gross margin. That would be a 27 percent increase from the second quarter of 2009, said Intel Chief Financial Officer Stacy Smith.
