View 13 RepliesA few days ago iTunes started to crash when updating some apps. I have about 25-30 apps to be updated. When I click update all, it started to downloadin
apps but when it came to a certain app, it crashed. It starts to download the app, continue downloading for a few seconds, than freezes and crashes. This happens in more than 5 apps. Other apps in my library downloaded without any problem.
I tried almost everything, deleted the iTunes folder completely, tried to download the same app, and it crashed again.
Finally I formatted the iMac, installed a fresh Mavericks, immediately opened iTunes tried to download the same apps, they all crashed. Could the files on the Apple's servers be corrupted?Â
Here is the first few line of the crash report:Â
Process:Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â iTunes [819]
Path:Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â /Applications/iTunes.app/Contents/MacOS/iTunes
Identifier:Â Â Â Â Â com.apple.iTunes
Version:Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â 11.3.1 (11.3.1)
[Code] .....
Info:
iMac, OS X Mavericks (10.9.4), 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 8Gb DDR3
Like others after updateing to latest version of iTunes 10.6, iTunes crashes only after I try to access playlists that have artwork. It seems I can get to the library if I leave it in list view. But unfortuneately those playlists that are saved in grid view will crash the program before I can change the view type. So I this point I cant see any of my playlists although the info is there. My audio and video library is stored on external drives. It seems like a loading issue pulling up file data across multiple drives.Â

Safari has been crashing for me every time I open it. It's mostly on sites like YouTube, which leads me to believe that it's a flash problem. When I open the page it just freezes up and the pinwheel just keeps spinning and spinning. I noticed these problems on my MacBook after I upgraded to Snow Leopard, and now they are arising again on my recently purchased Mac Pro (also running SL). I'm running latest version of SL, Safari, and Flash.
View 14 Replies View RelatedIt won't open, at all, I've deleted every plist associated with iTunes, the cache, everything. It will only open if I do it manually through Terminal and that isn't perfect in my opinion. I have also downloaded it twice and installed it twice, same thing happens. They've pulled iTunes 10 from the download page.
View 13 Replies View RelatedOver the weekend, I replaced my 500 gig drive with a new 1 TB drive into my MacBook Pro. I used Time Machine to back everything up and did a restore with it. When I sent to use iTunes after the restore, nothing was listed in there but it did show my custom playlists, but only the names of the lists, no music listed inside. No music also was listed in the Music area. I then readded all my music and now when I go to music, iTunes crashes. But I also notice that it shows at the bottom I have XX,XXX songs taking up XX space. But the music area is still blank. I also notice in Videos, it is blank but shows at the bottom I have 1 video, which is correct and how it was before the restore.
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy iTunes has started to crash after a period of time (often when I haven't done anything) and, when it happens, I can't kill it using Force Quit, killall, kill -9 or even sudo kill - I end up with a zombie process which stops the machine from rebooting.
The library is stored on a 1TB drive in a Power Mac G4, connected with a SATA card. It streams from there to an Apple TV in the lounge.
I've tried repairing permissions and even taking out the RAID setup so that it's now just on a single drive, but no dice.
I've had iTunes 10 on my PPC Mac crash twice in the past hour while playing SD video that worked fine in iTunes 9 here. The first time iTunes itself crashed. The 2nd time it caused a kernel panic. Has anyone else had any issues playing video with iTunes 10, particularly under Leopard or a PPC machine under Leopard? I'm about ready to go back to iTunes 9 at this rate.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI was asked to install iTunes 10 on someone's computer running Vista. I ran the full install, launched iTunes 10, and it immediately crashes with CoreFoundation.dll error.
I then I tried uninstall every Apple-related software and tried reinstalling, still no go.
I used 7-Zip to extract all the install files from the iTunes install package. I tried installing each separate and came to the conclusion it was the Apple Application Support. Everytime I try to install it, it goes all the way and then crashes with a weird matrix_blahblah error (I apologize, I'll get the correct error for you tomorrow).
Did anyone else encounter this? I tried everything, even replacing the CoreFoundation.dll file and registering it with regsvr32.
I just got my new 64gb ipod touch, and every time I try to sync photos on to it, iTunes crashes. I am running the latest versions of itunes, snow leopard and iphone 3.1. Does this sound familiar to anyone?
View 2 Replies View RelatediTunes has been crashing for months when playing CDs (but it's fine for DVDs and the audio files on iTunes). ppc G5 iMac, 10.5.8. Twice on inserting a CD, again when the CD concludes, and often during playing, or when I try to adjust volume. It did this with a LaCie external drive and now that I've installed a new replacement Toshiba internal superdrive it still does exactly the same thing. After reading about the many bugs with v9.0.1 I obtained v8.0.2, deleted everything to do with iTunes and reinstalled the older version. However, the crashes continue unabated. Have run Disk Warrior, Tech Tools Pro5, reset the hardware pulling the AC plug etc., run Permissions over and over, thrown out prefs files, etc. No improvement. AppleCare on iMac is expired and no other forum has helped. Couldn't find another ap just to play CDs or I would use it! QuickTime doesn't work.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo if I sort my files in a list in iTunes and I scroll through the album list, it ALWAYS crashes. It doesn't happen if I click and drag the scroll bar, but if I do the two-finger scroll on my trackpad or if I scroll with my magic mouse, iTunes automatically crashes.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI don't know why, but iTunes entirely too often on my computer. I use a 15" MBP running 10.6.4 (The latest version of SL). I'm using iTunes 10, but I was having this issue prior to the update. It crashes seemingly randomly sometimes when I finish an album, sometimes between songs, and sometimes just mid-song. Restarting seemed to help once, but it eventually started crashing again, and all subsequent reboots have had no effect. I have about 21 GB of music, mostly pirated (though let's not get into that debate); I listen to music by the album. My library is completely music (no TV shows, podcasts, etc.). Am I the only one sending them 20 enraged error messages a day?
View 12 Replies View Related(MacBook with OSX v.10.6.3; HP LaserJet 3050). I had to reinstall the driver for my HP 3050 AIO printer when the fax and scanner functions failed. I downloaded the latest Snow Leopard driver for the printer from the apple site. Fax and scanner now work, but now I can only print (single copies) with the HP from any application when I use the "print" icon; but when I try file>print to print multiple copies or switch to another printer, the application crashes (Entourage, Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Mail, Word for MAC, Excel for MAC, no matter).
View 3 Replies View RelatedI would love any input from those with some experience. My problem is common I think. I have an itunes library that says 120gb. I have an itunes folder that says 140gb. I have a bunch of exclamation points, some of which the files are there, some not.
I don't want to spend 40 hours fixing it!
I have been looking for an app that:
1) finds the dead tracks (really dead and files missing) and removes them
2) finds the files in my folder that aren't linked and add them to library....I know I may have deleted those at some point but honestly with this much data missing I can start that process over. Would rather have the stuff in...that out, of the library
3) find dupes and help me get rid of them. i have used Dupe eliminator and this works OK...would like one app to use to do all these things.
What are the best apps out there to fix tags, add album names, etc...?
View 3 Replies View RelatedAs there is no way to merge iTunes account purchases, Can someone advise if the following is possible:
Currently:
I have 1 PC with iTunes account A connected to my iPhone
I have 1 Mac with iTunes account B connected to my iPad
Is it possible to move all my iTunes stuff from the PC/account A (Music, apps etc) to my Mac and have all the apps/music available on both devices?
eg. account A and B stuff on my Iphone and account A and B stuff on my iPad.
Paypal limited my account yesterday so do not use various IP addresses when you're paying using Paypal.
I'm thinking of opening a new account using a new email address. Therefore I have to open a new iTunes account too.
What I'm worried about are the sixty free apps I'm using on iPad. Will I be able to update free apps using the new account or I have to redownload all of them?
I just got a new MacBook Pro 15" and I love it. I just have a quick question, though--how do I go about transferring my itunes stuff from my old Mac laptop to my new one? I tried consolidating the library, and then dragging the iTunes file to the new computer (and then going into preferences and selecting the iTunes Media folder location), but that didn't work.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have just bought a new macbook and am very pleased with it. I am having a problem with iTunes. I have two accounts on my computer (mine and the wifes). I have an iTunes folder in my public folder which is accessed by both accounts. My wife has subscribed to some podcasts which have been placed in the folder and are visible to her account, and download onto her iphone. When I subscribe to a podcast on my account it attempts to download and then states: 'You do not have enough access privileges for this operation.' I have amended the access privileges for the folder to shared and read / write for both accounts.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I was using Safari this afternoon, even though I usually use Firefox or Chrome. It crashed again on me and a box appeared that said it may be due to the WCIDEngine Plugin? When I read the problem details to send to Apple, it said "EXC_BAD_ACCESS for exception type, and then for exception codes it said "KERN_PROTECTION_FAILURE at (some numbers I'm not copying over). Worse yet, it reminded me that I've had 7 crashes since last report. I'm getting awfully tired of this crap. I run a PC that's on Windows 7 and it runs like a charm. I am seriously thinking about going back to it because I got my Mini with the expectation that it would work and most of the time it does, but it's little repetitive things like this that make me question it. I will add that I scrolled down the problem details list and it said that "Thread 0 Crashed" and then proceeded to list a number of things about symantec, like .com/symantec.WCIDEngine".

I want to know what little system utility apps people use that they couldn't imagine living without / they have gotten so used to them they can't work on other people's computers without!I will start with mine:SizeUp - Window management
Bowtie - iTunes desktop notifier / controller Growl - Desktop level system notificationsDockDodger - Ability to hide running applications from showing up in the dock1Password - Password manager that integrates beautifully with Safari/Firefox
USB Overdrive X - Allows setting of USB device buttons, such as a mouse button, to any shortcut.
Nobody else is talking about this problem so maybe it is not so widespread, but 3 of us cannot download any apps or access our accounts on iTunes right now (we have 3 separate computers with 3 separate accounts and separate devices). iTunes is giving the error "We could not complete your iTunes Store request. The network connection was lost. There was an error in the iTunes Store, please try your request again later" and we are completely unable to log in. When we try to download apps on our devices (iPhone 4.0, iPhone 3GS and iPad WiFi + 3G) it gives us a "waiting" status bar by the app and just never loads. Or is the iTunes store / App store actually down right now? Using OS X on iMac (late 2009) and the latest version of iTunes for Mac.
View 2 Replies View Relatedwhenever I even go near the Downloads folder, Finder crashes. This happens whether I try to access it from Users -> (username) or if I am trying to attach something to an email, in list view. It is really irritating me, because I put most of my stuff into this folder, and cannot access it!

When you sync your iPhone you sometimes get the following message:Â
Itunes has found purchased items on the iphone thats arenot present in your itunes library.Â
There are two reasons for this:
1. I have deleted apps in iTunes that I don't want, but not on the iPhone. I don't want to transfer the apps back to iTunes because I want them gone.
2. I have bought apps on the iPhone that I do want to keep. I want these transferred to iTunes.Â
So if I have both types 1 and 2 then there is no good answer. Preferably iTunes should offer to sync and choose which apps to transfer and what not to transfer. Is there a way to change this behaviour? By the time I sync I don't know what I've done so I'm usually not sure how to answer the question. Sometimes I like to bulk delete apps in iTunes--it is easier than doing it on the iPhone.

I own a Mac laptop OS X version 10.7.4; can I download Adobe Flash player? Can't access many apps if not able to do so.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI receive this error every time I tell iTunes to download the updates to my iPhone apps. Funny thing is, I only get the error once, if I click Update All again it goes through without a problem. This has been going on for almost 6 months through multiple versions of iTunes, iOS and a whole new iPhone setup from scratch.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI love the idea of a one-stop media center like iTunes, but as each new feature is added it just feels too big and slow to me now. It takes forever to open, it lags even when I just try scrolling through apps, it sends regular genius updates to Apple, it has a radio, ringtones, movies, tv shows, the list goes on. Does anyone else feel the same way?
View 18 Replies View RelatedUsing a G4 with Mac OS 10.3. Unfortunately the computer hasn't been used in a few years and the software on it is out-of-date. It runs Itunes 5. Itunes radio stations work, but I can't access the music store, podcast directory, or sign in to my account. Is Itunes 5 not allowed to access the music store anymore?
