I love the idea of a one-stop media center like iTunes, but as each new feature is added it just feels too big and slow to me now. It takes forever to open, it lags even when I just try scrolling through apps, it sends regular genius updates to Apple, it has a radio, ringtones, movies, tv shows, the list goes on. Does anyone else feel the same way?
View 18 RepliesI do not know why but over time the browsers (firefox and safari) get to be with a lot of lag, which makes it quite boring on the scroll and to see the many processes iStat times are up 70% of which are usually even with 20% seeing flash sites.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if anyone else has or is having this problem. Whenever I scroll through the itunes store, it becomes very choppy. I have the new macbook (don't think that matters at all) and it occurs when I scroll manually or use the two-finger scroll. I noticed this like a week ago but thought it would just go away but it's getting really annoying.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've recently noticed that my iTunes is lagging. Here's my situation: I swapped out the stock HDD for a 500GB 5400RPM drive. I have about 98GB free on the drive. Whenever I open iTunes (my library is 235GB), it lags considerably more than it used to. Is this because the size of the library and the speed of the drive? Is there anything I could do to alleviate this problem? I have 2GB of RAM, should I upgrade to 4GB?
View 1 Replies View RelatedEverytime I watch a YouTube video in HD or in HQ Firefox always lags. Every 30-40 seconds the video pauses for about 2 seconds. It's weird because this doesn't happen in Safari so it must not be my computer...

View 3 Replies View RelatedGot my blackbook a few months ago now and love it. But ive noticed that when browsing it seems to start loading a page but then halts for like ~5seconds and then finishes loading the website.
Now i tried loading the same websites on my windows machine in firefox/IE7 and i dont see that problem.
But what i did notice was it happens in safari and not in firefox on the mac.
Im running leopard with all the updates. Any ideas?
Like, click on Safari on the new MBA (does the SSD have anything to do with it?). How long does it take to launch, as well as some other apps?

Typically, a short sleep does not affect the apps I have running. So if I step away from the machine and it goes to sleep, when I wake the machine in a half-hour or so, the various app windows are still there and I can keep working. I use Mission Control to keep three desktops: one for Mail, one for Safari and one for general use. When the machine goes to sleep at night, Time Machine and Carbon Copy Cloner do their backups (around 3:00 am). Then when I wake the machine in the morning, there are no running apps. Mail and Safari seem to have quit and those Mission Control desktops are empty. how I can keep those apps running?

Therefore I bought Snow Leopard, Lion and new version of iPhoto. Is it just the consequence of the upgrades that are too heavy for the "old" processor?

View 13 Replies View RelatedI would love any input from those with some experience. My problem is common I think. I have an itunes library that says 120gb. I have an itunes folder that says 140gb. I have a bunch of exclamation points, some of which the files are there, some not.
I don't want to spend 40 hours fixing it!
I have been looking for an app that:
1) finds the dead tracks (really dead and files missing) and removes them
2) finds the files in my folder that aren't linked and add them to library....I know I may have deleted those at some point but honestly with this much data missing I can start that process over. Would rather have the stuff in...that out, of the library
3) find dupes and help me get rid of them. i have used Dupe eliminator and this works OK...would like one app to use to do all these things.
What are the best apps out there to fix tags, add album names, etc...?

Currently:
I have 1 PC with iTunes account A connected to my iPhone
I have 1 Mac with iTunes account B connected to my iPad
Is it possible to move all my iTunes stuff from the PC/account A (Music, apps etc) to my Mac and have all the apps/music available on both devices?
eg. account A and B stuff on my Iphone and account A and B stuff on my iPad.
Paypal limited my account yesterday so do not use various IP addresses when you're paying using Paypal.
I'm thinking of opening a new account using a new email address. Therefore I have to open a new iTunes account too.
What I'm worried about are the sixty free apps I'm using on iPad. Will I be able to update free apps using the new account or I have to redownload all of them?
I just got a new MacBook Pro 15" and I love it. I just have a quick question, though--how do I go about transferring my itunes stuff from my old Mac laptop to my new one? I tried consolidating the library, and then dragging the iTunes file to the new computer (and then going into preferences and selecting the iTunes Media folder location), but that didn't work.

I am taking some online courses since I lost my job a few months ago, but it has become impossible to complete these courses because my browsers keep crashing. I tried Safari, Opera, Firefox, and even Netscape, but they all keep crashing. I took advice from one of the people who responded. That person suggested that I created a New Account with Safari alone as my browser, but Safari also crashed with that new account. What else can I do? I paid for these online courses but I cannot keep my browsers open long enough to even finish the first session.

I just installed 10.6.5 on my MacBook Pro 5,3, but in iTunes the two finger scolling does not go down, it goes down and right. So basically two finger scolling in iTunes is now scrolling to the bottom right while in -as far as I can see- the other applications scroll properly (=down). Anybody else experiencing this particular issue?
View 8 Replies View RelatedAfter I updated my iTunes, which previously have been working with no problems at all, it suddenly began not working.
The problem I have is, that when i open iTunes, nothing happens. I can see it's running in the Task Manager, but I can't get it to open.
When you sync your iPhone you sometimes get the following message:
Itunes has found purchased items on the iphone thats arenot present in your itunes library.
There are two reasons for this:
1. I have deleted apps in iTunes that I don't want, but not on the iPhone. I don't want to transfer the apps back to iTunes because I want them gone.
2. I have bought apps on the iPhone that I do want to keep. I want these transferred to iTunes.
So if I have both types 1 and 2 then there is no good answer. Preferably iTunes should offer to sync and choose which apps to transfer and what not to transfer. Is there a way to change this behaviour? By the time I sync I don't know what I've done so I'm usually not sure how to answer the question. Sometimes I like to bulk delete apps in iTunes--it is easier than doing it on the iPhone.

I receive this error every time I tell iTunes to download the updates to my iPhone apps. Funny thing is, I only get the error once, if I click Update All again it goes through without a problem. This has been going on for almost 6 months through multiple versions of iTunes, iOS and a whole new iPhone setup from scratch.

Recently I noticed that whenever I open the iTunes store I no longer have a left to right scroll bar at the bottom of the page. Therefore I can't see anything on the right side of the page without making the whole window bigger.
