Applications :: Try To Sync Photos On To It, ITunes Crashes?
Sep 18, 2009
I just got my new 64gb ipod touch, and every time I try to sync photos on to it, iTunes crashes. I am running the latest versions of itunes, snow leopard and iphone 3.1. Does this sound familiar to anyone?
So for some reason, under the photos tab in iTunes, when I try to sync one of my projects from Aperture 3, it shows only 8 out of 233 photos in the actual aperture project beside the project name.
What is going on?
I am using the latest iTunes 9, and the newest version of Aperture 3
Just transferred my iTunes data from Snow Leopard to Lion ( Both same version of iTunes} and I am getting a message saying the iTunes will no longer sync Photos to my iPhone. Has something been changed as far as photo syncing?
Info: MacPro 2.66, Mac OS X (10.6.7), GB ram.. iLife 08 /Aperture / CS 5
Just upgraded my computers to Lion 10.7.3. All went well until I tried to sync my iPhone 3GS (iOS 5.1). Sync starts normally, then iTunes crashes during the "Photos" step of sync. Tried rebooting.
Info: iMac, Mac OS X (10.7.3), Intel Core 2 Duo, 2.16 GHz; 3GB RAM
Since day one of owning my iPad 2 and even after updating to a newer version of itunes, itunes freezes up.On my Mac Pro Tower in the iTunes main window under Devices I select my New ipad 2 in the itunes main window. Whenever I click the Photos tab itunes on the far right away from the Summary tab I get the spinning ball of wait.I check the Activity Monitor and iTunes is at the top in red (Not Responding) %CPU 200.1.I have tried throwing out the many suggested Ipod Photo Cache folder in the iPhoto Library and restarting and still if I try to choose the iPad folder I get the spinning ball.I have an iphone 4 which also has a Photos tab and it will open the Photos tab just fine.
Info: Mac Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.3), 2.4GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon
Upgraded to OS 10.7.3 this week and also to iTunes 10.6. ITunes will function until attempting to sync with iPhone 4 (os 5.1) then it will crash. Have reinstalled iTunes but no difference.
I just upgraded to iTunes 10.6 in a normal mac software update yesterday Now I cannot sync any of my devices. 2 iPhone 4Ss and 1 iPad 1st gen.Whenever I connect a device to sync, iTunes 'crashes unexpectedly' I had to turn of wifi on the iPhone because wifi syncing caused the itunes to crash. I noticed my streaming music kept quitting and figured out it was the syncing that caused the 'unexpected quit's.
Music not playing is a minor inconvenience, but not syncing is a major problem in my household; where we share lots of info via sync.I did notice there was an iOS 5.1 upgrade available for all my devices, and was able to install it on iPhone 1 and the iPad, but I cannot upgrade my wife's iPhone because I need to free up some space on it which requires, you guessed it, attaching it to my mac to access sync preferences.
I have recently added some pictures and new albums to iPhoto. Then I sync my iPhone4S OS 5.1 (9B179) with iTunes 10.6 on OSX 10.7.3 but my new albums and photos get not copied to the iPhone. On the iPhone there are 3.8 GB available and the pictures are just 30MB. The albums on the iTunes sync panel are well checked. I can see even the amount of pictures to copy at the right side of the album name (19). I have repaired the permissions of my boot disk?
I have about 14000 photos organised in events and albums on my mac. Previously I synced my iPhone and iPad using iTunes from my mac and all events etc would be transferred to the mobile devices as they appeared on the mac. iTunes now seems not to want to do this.
I've been attempting to sync my iPod touch for a while now, everytime I do it crashes just as it begins the actual sync section.
Only recently i noticed the error message "searching for movie data in file..." I have searched through finder and my external harddrives and time machine and this file doesn't actually exist.
The error message does have a cancel and a search button on it but i am unable to press them as all i get is the spinning pinwheel of death when i hover over the itunes window.
It's really really frustrating is there a way of telling itunes not to looking or sync this file before i actually sync my ipod.
Since upgarding to itunes 11.2 When ever I plug my iphone in to sync or even have it on the same netwrok to auto sync via wifi. My itunes crashes and I have to force quit the application. I have tried reinstalling itunes but this hasnt worked. I get this script in my console  Â
Since the latest update, iTunes now only syncs the master images from my aperture library. this seems to be specific to photos edited after updating to Mac OSX 10.7.4. Have tried unsyncing and resyncing. Happens on both my iPhone 4s and iPad 2. Â Info: iPhone 4S, Mac OS X (10.7.4)
My iphone originally was linked to my PC. I downloaded over 3,000 pictures from my PC to my iphone. Since then my PC broke and now I have a macbook pro and the macbook doesn't recognize all the pictures from my pc. I get the following message.-iTunes cannot sync photos to the iPhone "Daniel's iPhone" because you do not have write access to the folder "iChat Icons".
I have always in the past been able to sync m photos from iphone 4 to my computer. For last few days, I can no longer do this. What steps to take to make this possible.Â
I have a Nokia N78 cellphone which I can sync to my Macbook Pro using iSync. This works fine for photos, iCal, contacts but I what I would like to do is to be able to back up and view my sms on my Mac. Does anybody know if there is anyway of achieving this (free if possible)? If not, can anybody recommend a phone (other than the obvious iPhone) that has this syncing capability with Macs? I am looking to update my phone soon anyway.
It won't open, at all, I've deleted every plist associated with iTunes, the cache, everything. It will only open if I do it manually through Terminal and that isn't perfect in my opinion. I have also downloaded it twice and installed it twice, same thing happens. They've pulled iTunes 10 from the download page.
Over the weekend, I replaced my 500 gig drive with a new 1 TB drive into my MacBook Pro. I used Time Machine to back everything up and did a restore with it. When I sent to use iTunes after the restore, nothing was listed in there but it did show my custom playlists, but only the names of the lists, no music listed inside. No music also was listed in the Music area. I then readded all my music and now when I go to music, iTunes crashes. But I also notice that it shows at the bottom I have XX,XXX songs taking up XX space. But the music area is still blank. I also notice in Videos, it is blank but shows at the bottom I have 1 video, which is correct and how it was before the restore.
My iTunes has started to crash after a period of time (often when I haven't done anything) and, when it happens, I can't kill it using Force Quit, killall, kill -9 or even sudo kill - I end up with a zombie process which stops the machine from rebooting.
The library is stored on a 1TB drive in a Power Mac G4, connected with a SATA card. It streams from there to an Apple TV in the lounge.
I've tried repairing permissions and even taking out the RAID setup so that it's now just on a single drive, but no dice.
I've had iTunes 10 on my PPC Mac crash twice in the past hour while playing SD video that worked fine in iTunes 9 here. The first time iTunes itself crashed. The 2nd time it caused a kernel panic. Has anyone else had any issues playing video with iTunes 10, particularly under Leopard or a PPC machine under Leopard? I'm about ready to go back to iTunes 9 at this rate.
I was asked to install iTunes 10 on someone's computer running Vista. I ran the full install, launched iTunes 10, and it immediately crashes with CoreFoundation.dll error.
I then I tried uninstall every Apple-related software and tried reinstalling, still no go.
I used 7-Zip to extract all the install files from the iTunes install package. I tried installing each separate and came to the conclusion it was the Apple Application Support. Everytime I try to install it, it goes all the way and then crashes with a weird matrix_blahblah error (I apologize, I'll get the correct error for you tomorrow).
Did anyone else encounter this? I tried everything, even replacing the CoreFoundation.dll file and registering it with regsvr32.
iTunes has been crashing for months when playing CDs (but it's fine for DVDs and the audio files on iTunes). ppc G5 iMac, 10.5.8. Twice on inserting a CD, again when the CD concludes, and often during playing, or when I try to adjust volume. It did this with a LaCie external drive and now that I've installed a new replacement Toshiba internal superdrive it still does exactly the same thing. After reading about the many bugs with v9.0.1 I obtained v8.0.2, deleted everything to do with iTunes and reinstalled the older version. However, the crashes continue unabated. Have run Disk Warrior, Tech Tools Pro5, reset the hardware pulling the AC plug etc., run Permissions over and over, thrown out prefs files, etc. No improvement. AppleCare on iMac is expired and no other forum has helped. Couldn't find another ap just to play CDs or I would use it! QuickTime doesn't work.
So if I sort my files in a list in iTunes and I scroll through the album list, it ALWAYS crashes. It doesn't happen if I click and drag the scroll bar, but if I do the two-finger scroll on my trackpad or if I scroll with my magic mouse, iTunes automatically crashes.
I don't know why, but iTunes entirely too often on my computer. I use a 15" MBP running 10.6.4 (The latest version of SL). I'm using iTunes 10, but I was having this issue prior to the update. It crashes seemingly randomly sometimes when I finish an album, sometimes between songs, and sometimes just mid-song. Restarting seemed to help once, but it eventually started crashing again, and all subsequent reboots have had no effect. I have about 21 GB of music, mostly pirated (though let's not get into that debate); I listen to music by the album. My library is completely music (no TV shows, podcasts, etc.). Am I the only one sending them 20 enraged error messages a day?
