When I import video from my Creative's Vado HD Pocket Video camcorder on a month old MacBook Pro the video files in each event are black. They have no image. When I click on them I can see the video but I would prefer to see an image which makes identifying each video much easier.
Is there anything I can do so that I can see an image?
Whenever I import clips into iMovie HD I get a black rectangle on the left side of the clip that only shows up when I import it, the actual file does not have this (as shown in the attachments).

I don't lose any of my information though when it does that. It just goes into a sleep mode I guess? Anyways, is this a feature from the lion update? Something standard?

I just installed iWork '08 on my new Macbook pro (snow leopard and general '09 programs are on it) and for some reason, the text coloring and highlighting, generally anything to do with the text and whatever appears on the pages themselves have completely gone blank. The highlight appears as this light purplish color, I can not get the text to read as visible. It appears white no matter what. Even the text blinker isn't showing. Is there a problem with installing iWork '08 on an '09 based Mac? This is a legal copy of iWork I've had since buying my first Mac, so I know it can't really be the disc screwing up, is there anyone that might be able to help? This is an image of the problem. As you can see, the black is the default font color, but it does not show up as it. Also, the general coloration of it is off.

I have followed the directions from the tutorial to the letter but when I plug my camera into my computer and turn it on the import screen doesn't come up. Nothing happens at all. I've tried launching iMovie and using the import command but nothing seems to work.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have an iMac desktop computer, Intel based, with Snow Leopard running on it. When I am running iPhoto the small photos appear in the right pane as they should. However, when I double click on one of the photos to enlarge it, many of them will show a black screen with a white circle and a black exclamation point in the white circle. When I click it again, it returns to the smaller size and is visible. If I use the slider, the pictures will get bigger but when I double click on them the black screen with the exclamation point appears. Again, when I click the black screen, the smaller picture re-appears. This phenomenon does not happen on all of the pictures, just some. Also, the photos that this occurs on are not copies of the originals. When I highlite the photo to edit it and click on edit the screen also goes black. Does anyone have a clue as to what is causing this and how I might fix it?

View 3 Replies View RelatedWhile using handbrake to rip a dvd. My screen suddenly turn black. i can only see the mouse pointer and can see my desktop. if i close the lid and open again. it back to normal. is this thing normal??? why is it happen??? Is this safe?????
I am not so sure. I only know that this happen during handbrake. After encoding for awhile. I leave it encode while away to eat something. 30 min later, i check. the screen is black. The only thing i see is the mouse pointer and nothing else. I try to move the mouse pointer and press dashboard but dashboard does not show. it still black. after i close the lid then it return to normal.
Every url that I enter (bookmark, email link, etc.) comes up as 1 pixel by 1 pixel. That's all. It loads instantaneously, doesn't give me an "I cannot connect" error, and displays a blank white screen.
I've tried: many different links
- quitting and relaunching Safari
- reinitializing Safari
- I can still connect to the interweb via Mail, Firefox, iTunes.
It seems a whole section of my 350+ movies in my iTunes have all of a sudden stopped playing back. These are movies that played back perfectly just a few days ago but now only display a black screen with the timeline ticking away as if it was playing. All these movies were ripped from DVD's and converted using Handbrake.
Has this happened to anyone else? I think its some type of file corruption but I can't imagine what caused it. What makes it strange is that it only happened to a section of movies and not one common trait can be found among them.
I've done a bit of googling and mroogling and haven't been able to find a solution let alone another user have the same problem.
Any ideas? I have all the video_ts folders backed up so I just need to encode them again, but I would like to prevent this from happening again.

Sometimes, when working in photoshop, the image i work on becomes black or grey so i can't see anymore what i'm working on. Other times one of my screens (I work on two screens) seems to freeze... when i start clicking around on that screen the screen gets 'messed up'. As you can see in the attached image (screenprint of my mail).The same thing now also happens with vimeo or youtube videos. And sometimes my browser even gets completely black.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI came back from work to wake up my iMac. It made the noise but the screen stayed black. I tried restarting by holding the power button- I can hear it start and the chime but still have a black screen. I tried resetting the pram, and unplugging the cord but I still get a black screen. I can hear the chime though; I'm not sure if that means anything. I just had the hard drive replaced in February so I hope it's not that. just wanted to clarify that when I restart, I get the chime but the screen stays black- I don't get to the grey screen. So I'm assuming right now that my display may be shot?

View 3 Replies View RelatedEvery once and a while, usually when my MacBook is running on it's battery, the screen will show a black screen for nearly only a millisecond or two. It's not too bothersome, and it usually blinks back to normal before I can notice it, but nevertheless I don't want it, and from what I can recall, this only started happening after I installed the Snow Leopard Graphics Update. Is anybody else getting these problems on their MBPs or MBs? MacBook config details in my sig.

I have a Quad Core Mac Pro running Snow Leopard 10.6.4. I've been having this issue for the past couple of weeks. Basically I have my monitor set to turn off after after 15 minutes of inactivity, my Mac Pro is always on. After 5 minutes of inactivity my screensaver comes on and stays on until my monitor turns off. When I move my mouse to wake my monitor, sometimes an image from the screensaver appears onscreen for a few seconds and then disappears when my desktop appears.
I have repaired Permissions, rebuilt my drive using Disk Warrior, installed the 10.6.4 Combo update but the issue remains. An image from the screensaver doesn't always appear when I turn on my monitor, this issue is sort of random. Usually my desktop appears right away with no static image from the screensaver.
How do I change the iTunes screen display from 'white on black' to 'black on white'
