My boss accidentally deleted all the pics off of her digital camera's SD card and she's offering me $100 if I can retrieve them. There was an app I used a few years ago that was free to look at what pics it could recover, and then you paid to recover them but I can't remember what it was called.
View 5 RepliesI was uploading photos into iPhoto (with the delete originals option on) and my entire system froze up so I had to restart my MBP using the powerbutton. Going back to get the photos, all but 5 are gone. Any way to check if I can get any back? I'd be willing to buy reasonably priced software, but free is always better.

During my last upgrade it hosed and I lost everything and the backup it performed right before the upgrade wasn't good. I just had my first kid and all his pictures were on there, from the first day of the hospital to 5 months. I'm dying slowly right now. If you don't get a follow up post within a couple of days please tell the detectives my wife killed me after I told her what happened.

She synced her phone to iPhoto.When prompted, she selected "Delete originals on device".AT THIS TIME...the iPhoto software crashed and quit.When iPhoto was relaunched, the photos are NOT visible in iPhoto.ON THE PHONE...All photos are erased.

I am looking for a RAR archiver (don't ask why... because I used it a lot on my Windows machine) in order to create split RAR-archives. But there is no good RAR programme for the Macs! Yesterday I found RARMe and it has been working very well... Today it doesn't want to create archives anymore. I switched to Rarify, which is a very simple programme but it does what it has to do. The problem is that it is too simple and I still need some options... Could you tell me how YOU solve this problem of not having a good RAR-tool on OSX? Which programme is the best?

I am by no means a web designer, I have created sites before using front page and they worked great and stuff. I also created a site using iWeb but that will not work for what I need to do. I was tasked with redesigning our intranet page so basically I just need a recommendation of a software that would help me do so. I've always backed up the DVDs I've purchased for when the originals get scratched. On a PC I had a decent workflow that involved a decrypter, a compressor, and Roxio burning ROM. Now on a Mac I'm a bit lost. I've used handbrake to rip DVDs to be playable in iTunes and have Burn installed, but there seems to be something missing, namely a compression tool and the ability to keep the original DVDs menu structure, etc. I know about Mactheripper but am lost after that. Shed some light on this for me?

I'm on a 2008 model Mac Pro 8-core system for work. For whatever reason it doesn't have a recovery partition. I read that if I don't have a recovery partition, I can't make a recovery USB bootable drive....so how do I make one? And no, I cannot reinstall the OS on here, that would be beyond detrimental to what's going on here. (too many details to get into)
Alternatively, can I make one with my 10.8.5 MacbookPro at home and run it here on my Lion system?

I am on a Unibody with 10.5.6. and I would need to change the font sizes for my gf as they are causing her a terrible eyestrain.
I just discovered Tinker Tool and wanted to test the font size functions, but everytime i change them and I want to preview the size, it is saying that I would need to relaunch it in order to be able to preview - I do that, nothing happens - fonts change back to default.
I did some searches in google as well as this forum and it looks like there are quite a few options out there for users interested having a program automatically grab missing album artwork from places like amazon if you are running iTunes on Windows.
Users have also reported that some of these tools are great at screwing up the existing album artwork in your iTunes library.
I am looking for a batch tool since I have missing artwork on 1000s of songs (note that this album artwork is not present in itunes store). Does anyone know of a good, reliable program or script that can import missing album artwork on iTunes 8 in OS X 10.5?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI am trying to recovery a file created in Microsoft Office 2008 for Mac. The file was lost after a power outage. In an attempt to recover the file, my first thought was to check for the file in the Microsoft AutoRecovery 2008 folder within my hardrive. However, the folder only contains a total of four files! Why? If my Microsoft Word is set up to auto save a document every 10 minutes...then how is it possible the folder could only contain 4 files? I am at a loss of how else to recover this file. I am currently attempting to do so with a free trial of Data Recovery Software to see if the file I lost even still exists, with no success so far.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI just deleted one folder size of almost 5gb. Was full of personal videos. So they are not like small size of 10k pics. There were like 40 videos in total. What is the chance to recover them in good condition? And with which app. would happen best? I just downloaded 2 apps, stellarphoenix and Mac File Recovery. I started stellar and it is taking forever to search the hard drive. I tried the MFR for like 10 minutes it seemed a little faster but the videos and most of the files weren't in good shape.
