I am looking for a way to integrate the command + Q hotkey that is used to quit an application on the Better Touch Tool. How can I add the command key in the input field for "custom keyboard shortcut"? I am looking for some trackpad gesture that does not include use of the keyboard (just the trackpad) that I could use to quit an app easily.

I do not want to use a GUI tool like Audio Hijack Pro because I already have and use that app. I now prefer to use a command line tool instead.

I'm using the command "touch" in the terminal to set the creation date of some old home movies I'm dumping on HD.
I can move the creation date back with the following command:
MacPro:~ scott$ touch -t 200308311500 /Users/scott/Desktop/2-month-bath.mov
The problem now, I cannot move the date back up (when I fat finger)... EVEN if I move the modified date way in the future, the creation date won't move back up with it... Give the command a try on a garbage file and see what I mean.
I am looking for a RAR archiver (don't ask why... because I used it a lot on my Windows machine) in order to create split RAR-archives. But there is no good RAR programme for the Macs! Yesterday I found RARMe and it has been working very well... Today it doesn't want to create archives anymore. I switched to Rarify, which is a very simple programme but it does what it has to do. The problem is that it is too simple and I still need some options... Could you tell me how YOU solve this problem of not having a good RAR-tool on OSX? Which programme is the best?

I am looking for a website authoring/publishing tool for Mac OS. I am by no means a web designer, I have created sites before using front page and they worked great and stuff. I also created a site using iWeb but that will not work for what I need to do. I was tasked with redesigning our intranet page so basically I just need a recommendation of a software that would help me do so. I've always backed up the DVDs I've purchased for when the originals get scratched. On a PC I had a decent workflow that involved a decrypter, a compressor, and Roxio burning ROM. Now on a Mac I'm a bit lost. I've used handbrake to rip DVDs to be playable in iTunes and have Burn installed, but there seems to be something missing, namely a compression tool and the ability to keep the original DVDs menu structure, etc. I know about Mactheripper but am lost after that. Shed some light on this for me?

Can we run our applications from our iPod touch on our MacBook Pro? I have several games on my iPod I would like to be able to play on my MacBook. I tried looking them up on the app store on the computer, but they don't appear in the options list. Also I tried running straight from iTunes, but that also does not open the application.

I just discovered Tinker Tool and wanted to test the font size functions, but everytime i change them and I want to preview the size, it is saying that I would need to relaunch it in order to be able to preview - I do that, nothing happens - fonts change back to default.

How would I go about getting the stuff back from it without iTunes purging the device? Do I have to use some 3rd party tool or will iTunes be able to copy everything back?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just bought a new MacBook Pro and used Migration Assistant to move my old MacBook files to the new machine. Ever since the file migration, my brand new iPod Touch is having a lot of problems connecting to iTunes. Here's the deal: When connected by USB to the new MBP, the iPod charges fine, but is not recognized by iTunes (does not show up at all). After mucking around a bit (unplugging/plugging in, deleting iTunes plists, and repairing disk permissions) I decided to reinstall iTunes. I followed Apple's directions to completely remove iTunes and after reinstalling iTunes the iPod was detected and all was working great again...until I shut down and restarted my computer and the iPod was no longer recognized.
I proceeded to uninstall/reinstall iTunes again. It worked!...until I restarted my computer and iTunes would not recognize the iPod again. Interestingly, each time that I followed Apple's directions to completely remove iTunes, I could not find iTunesHelper running in either Activity Monitor or present in the start-up items of System Preferences as the Apple KB suggested it should be. I should also mention that the new iPod Touch has no problems being detected by iTunes on my old MacBook (the source hard drive for the file migration). This is baffling to say the least. I'm getting ready to forget Migration Assistant, nuke my new MBP's user account and start from scratch.
Using Command + M means minimised a window. But in CS3, pressing Command + M out comes the curves. Is there a command key to minimise the image. When image open in CS3, it automatically occupy a small space at the top left corner but leaving a large space that I still can see desktop folders or files in the background. How do I default it so that it autmatically occupy the whole screen.
View 3 Replies View RelatedStarted using a mac through work and bought my first 20" imac 8 months ago. Haven't looked back.However, since the update to 10.5.7 my imac has crashed applications every time I select the print command in any application that can print.
I'm printing to an Epson Acculaser C1100 via USB, which worked perfectly before the 10.5.7 update.
I've searched forums and other sites for a solution but drawn a blank. Here's what I've done so far:Twice reinstalled the 10.5.7 update using the Combo update option, repairing permissions before and after.Removed the Epson folder from the Printers folder in the library and reinstalled the drivers from the original Epson disk, from the OS X disks that came with the mac, and from the latest driver posted on the Epson site. Each time, no effect.Removed all references to Epson from my machine (via a Finder search) and reinstalled the drivers in the three ways listed above.
Each time the result is the same; when I click the print command or the print icon in any application the application spins the coloured wheel for a while then crashes.Some applications (such as Pages) report that the crash may be related to a file called EpsonPagePDE.plugin, which I've found and deleted from the library several times, to no avail.Updated to 10.5.8.The printer works perfectly from my Mac G4 laptop and from a Windows Vista laptop.In just about every other way I'm delighted with my conversion to mac 9 months ago, but this has me beaten.
Does anyone know how to do this? I've installed many Applications (compiling from source) with the command line, but how do I uninstall them?
