Im trying to recover a Word document that is password protected. Is there any freeware that will do this? I don't care what the solution is, I just want it to be free. Is there anything that can be done?
I use Stellar for photos and music and it works out great, but is there such an app that specializes in Microsoft Word documents? I bought Data Rescue and I'm not impressed.
I am trying to recovery a file created in Microsoft Office 2008 for Mac. The file was lost after a power outage. In an attempt to recover the file, my first thought was to check for the file in the Microsoft AutoRecovery 2008 folder within my hardrive. However, the folder only contains a total of four files! Why? If my Microsoft Word is set up to auto save a document every 10 minutes...then how is it possible the folder could only contain 4 files? I am at a loss of how else to recover this file. I am currently attempting to do so with a free trial of Data Recovery Software to see if the file I lost even still exists, with no success so far.Â
I'm trying to recover a password from Firefox, or possibly Safari. It does NOT show up on Keychain Access so I assume that I never actually saved the password, but I was wondering if there's an add-on or a separate program for Macs that will let me recover the password?
So long story short I set up an account for my husband a while ago on my Macbook, he had full admin rights and privileges as do I, but he hasn't signed on for a few months. He has a ton of work on his account that he moved over from an old hard drive but he's forgotten his password. We've had history with password issues and he doesn't want me to see his and I don't want to know it. I was wondering if there was any way if I let him log on my admin account if he could simply view his password even though he was another user. According to him he remembers locking a bunch of documents using the same password so a simple reset won't work. Is there any way to use keychain to look at his admin account password without resetting it?
I want to recover a saved password on my instant messenger. I am using adium and the account is on hotmail. I know the programs for windows and they work quite well...
I want to recover my hotmail's account password, it's not a saved password but I have signed in to this account plenty of times from my mac. how I might retrieve this password?
I think it is pretty unsafe to not have a password befor entering the recovery mode.Since one can reset passwords on even admin accounts how come there are no password requiret before entering Recovery mode? It is completly idiotic and totaly unsafe and an easy ways for f.i thiefs to wipe the computer for data.
Dear Apple Support Communities: recently on ebay, I have seen several sellers selling a Password Recovery Disc for Mac OSX Lion. This Password Recovery disc claims to be able to reset Lion's password of any user account WITHOUT knowing the old password! Is this possible?
I want to find my password for my second gmail account which I haven't used for a while, and I'd rather not change the password. (I keep forgetting passwords, and hate resetting them). how to find my password for the first gmail account (Finder>Utilities>Keychain>imap.gmail.com>enter email account name>select 'show password'>enter Mac user password). I was hoping that I could just change the first account name to the second under the imap.gmail.com entry, but when I do this, the password shown continues to be that of the first account, not the second.Â
I change my password, and I can't remember which was it. Apple have me a recovery key but I lost it, but I put that it will be saved with Apple and I answer es 3 security question.
I bought my first IMac last month. I changed my access password yesterday and now I can use my computer. It does not like the password I am typing. It asks me to get a Recovery Key. I have contacted Apple support and they told me to do a Recovery using the Command key and R at the beginning of the session. I have done that and it brings me back to the unlock my system with a password. How do I get a recovery key to unlock my system?
Can someone please help me open a document in Mac Word that I password protected then forgot the password? There must be some way to do this. I have spent the last two hours online trying to find a solution but everything is made for windows.
My iBook died a while back and i fitted a new motherboard but the hard drive was faulty so i put in another hd and the ibook works fine. Except that i cant install Mac for word as i have not got the user password. This is not the master password. How do i get around this? I have another mac with wordmac can i copy that onto a disc from applications and load it?
I recently installed a new internal hard drive on my mac which meant copying all my music back into iTunes. This has left me with a bit of work to organise all my music again, particularly those songs that I purchased through the iTunes store. The long and the short of it is that it's asking my to authorise the purchased tracks using the account that I used to buy them. This wouldn't be a problem except that I cant work out which password it is that I use on that account. The problem is every time I click the "forgot password?" button to reset it all I get is webpage with an error message (see attached picture).
I'm on a 2008 model Mac Pro 8-core system for work. For whatever reason it doesn't have a recovery partition. I read that if I don't have a recovery partition, I can't make a recovery USB bootable drive....so how do I make one? And no, I cannot reinstall the OS on here, that would be beyond detrimental to what's going on here. (too many details to get into)Â
Alternatively, can I make one with my 10.8.5 MacbookPro at home and run it here on my Lion system?Â
I have 205 files that were accidentally deleted from my computers hard drive. The files are visible in PodSalvage. Can any Macintosh genius, hackers etc. direct me to a freeware application or method to recover the files?
My boss accidentally deleted all the pics off of her digital camera's SD card and she's offering me $100 if I can retrieve them. There was an app I used a few years ago that was free to look at what pics it could recover, and then you paid to recover them but I can't remember what it was called.
I am trying to uninstall Virex 7.5. I have got the Terminal uninstall command which opens Terminal. So far, so good. However, Terminal is asking me for my admin password but it's not allowing me to enter it. The cursor is not blinking it's just a solid black oblong - just bl**dy sitting there! Absolutely no response to any key except the enter key - then terminal helpfully says, 'Sorry, try again' What's going on? I just wanna get rid of Virex!!!
Every once and a while my fiance's computer will ask for the keychain password while using Safari. As she has forgotten the password everytime she just has to hit cancel. is there a way to reset this
When i am supposed to type my password in the terminal, so i can uninstall an addons, i can't write... I can press enter, and it jump down a line, but when i write there, it pop up: Sorry wrong password Try again. What shall i do?
Yes I know other people have posted this and gotten the answer that you just put it ion anyways and you wont see it come up but it works. Well I do not actually have a password set so usually I just hit enter with it blank but when I do that in Terminal it says sorry wrong password or something until I hit the 3rd try and it boots me.
