Windows On Mac :: What Is The Best Backup Tool
Jun 22, 2010I just bought a new HD for my MBP. However I would like a backup of the data on the boot camp partition before it gets replaced (on fri.). Does anyone know of a good tool to back up Windows? I have windows 7. It is barely bootable (there is only 13 mb left free) so if it can be a native Mac app it would be better. I have heard of WinClone, anyone had any luck with that?
Also is there any easy way to enlarge the boot camp partition when before of after it has been restored on the new HD?
Specs are: original mbp 15", osx 10.6.3 and Windows 7 boot camped.
OS X :: Data Transfer - Using Time Machine As Backup Tool
Mar 13, 2009I'm getting a new macbook. Currently I use time machine as a backup tool and was wondering if I should use it to transfer all my data to the new mac. One benefit of a new harddrive is the fresh install without all the junk that has built up over the years right? So wouldn't time machine just be transferring all the junk and stuff I want to the new mac? or is time machine smarter than this.

Feb 23, 2009I am looking for a RAR archiver (don't ask why... because I used it a lot on my Windows machine) in order to create split RAR-archives. But there is no good RAR programme for the Macs! Yesterday I found RARMe and it has been working very well... Today it doesn't want to create archives anymore. I switched to Rarify, which is a very simple programme but it does what it has to do. The problem is that it is too simple and I still need some options... Could you tell me how YOU solve this problem of not having a good RAR-tool on OSX? Which programme is the best?

Jun 21, 2010I've always backed up the DVDs I've purchased for when the originals get scratched. On a PC I had a decent workflow that involved a decrypter, a compressor, and Roxio burning ROM. Now on a Mac I'm a bit lost. I've used handbrake to rip DVDs to be playable in iTunes and have Burn installed, but there seems to be something missing, namely a compression tool and the ability to keep the original DVDs menu structure, etc. I know about Mactheripper but am lost after that. Shed some light on this for me?

I am on a Unibody with 10.5.6. and I would need to change the font sizes for my gf as they are causing her a terrible eyestrain.
I just discovered Tinker Tool and wanted to test the font size functions, but everytime i change them and I want to preview the size, it is saying that I would need to relaunch it in order to be able to preview - I do that, nothing happens - fonts change back to default.

i use 1 external tb to back up everything
i back up about 725 gb if stuff and when i go to run my TM it tells me i only have 150 or so GB of space to back up the aforementioned 725gb.
Maybe i misunderstood TM, but cant i back up multiple days without using the same size of backup? i.e. i back up january 1st, december 1st and november 1st and it wont need 2.175 TB of space?

Safari Freezes When Loading Amazon
Jun 13, 2012I am currently using Safari ver 5.1.7. I have Adblock installed. I am not sure why but Safari always freezes when I try to load amazon.com and usually leads to Safari asking that web pages are not responding and that I have to reload the pages. Reloading it leads to the same thing happening again unless I close the window or tab that has amazon.com loading inside it. I have not experienced this with any other websites so far. So now I am stuck having to use Chrome when I want to load Amazon.com. Anyways I have a Macbook Pro 15" Early 2011 with 2.2 Ghz Intel Core i7 and Mac OS X version 10.7.4.
