I use Outlook in my PC for checking work related e-mails. I like my Outlook Inbox to be viewed like this ---> View > Arranged by > From. I tried the same in my Apple Mail like this ---> View > Sort by > From. Also checked the "Organize by Thread" But it doesn't seem same like how Outlook arranged me mails.

So I did an experiment and since I am a mac user too, I tested it myself on my mac mail. Test scenario is this:
1. I send email from Outlook2007 (PC) using HTML as default.
2. I open with Macmail, I get garbage. (see below and/or attached file for illustration.)
3. I open same email on Entourage, it's fine.
4. I open same email on webmail, it's fine.
A friend recently downloaded 500 messages from her ISP to Mac Mail (4.4) The inbox says she has 500 messages but she can only see around 150 / 200. How can she see that complete list ? I'm trying to convince her to remove those messages off her ISP's server.
I will be switching from Outlook 2007 to Office for Mac Outlook 2011 for my business email/calendar/contacts. I am pleased with Outlook 2007, but despise my PC otherwise. I will be using Microsoft Exchange as my email server. My concerns: Calendar Syncing, Accessing Archived PST files, Transitioning current mail folders.
I have a couple questions regarding this switch:
- Will Office for Mac Outlook 2011 accommodate by business needs and offer a comparable application as Office 2007 (PC version)?
- What roadblocks or issues should I be aware of when making this switch?
If I send a msg from Apple Mail to i.e. Outlook Express. The same msg shows up with "clean" text formating. That will say, no formatting at all. See this screen: [URL:...] I have just gotten back to the Mac now from 10-11 months in hell with Windows-stuf, so I am really eager to get this fixed. In Apple Mail the same message looks this: [URL:...] I dont want to change to Entourage, so excellent if you can help me out with this.

I figured it would work eventually so i just looked into gmail when i had to send. cause I still received gmail in apple mail. just now i decided to remove and put gmail back in. View 21 Replies View RelatedWell I am about to give up on Apple's OS-X Mail program. In my business am I converting from Windows laptop's to MacBooks. Everybody is really happy to start using OS-X and have the benefit of the improved stability and extended battery life. So far so good. But now we have run in to a severe problem in the compatibility of Apple Mail and Outlook. If we send emails to Outlook clients (99% of the time) our signatures end up as and separate .HTML attachment in the Outlook client. We tried everything but the main problem is that Apple Mail does not generate HTML-mail, but RTF-mail. This RTF format is compliant with the standards but Outlook uses its own RTF specs. So now I am forced to use Entourage (that works) but I want to get away from anything Microsoft because of the excessive price and very limited support. For a full licence I would have to pay $339 per user, just to get this compatibility issues out of the way. For 28 users that is still a lot of money (9500 $). Does anybody have an alternative, so I do not need to make Bill richer then he already is. I looked at Mozilla email client, does not work either.
View 14 Replies View RelatedSo I'm rolling out 10.6 on some Mac Pros in our office. So far it's gone fairly smoothly (aside from the fact that Xerox has decided to not bother make drivers for 10.6). We're switching over to Apple's Mail/iCal/Contacts instead of the buggy Entourage. Of the 4 users, 3 of them are working fine. Sometimes their AD session goes buggy and they can't access shared folders on our server via smb, but a restart fixes it. I have one user who comes in every morning though, and her Apple Mail app can not sync with the Exchange 2007 server. It prompts her for her password and won't accept it. She can access shared folders though via smb and they open up right away, meaning it's recognizing her domain and user/pass with out her entering it manually.

It doesn't appear that I can do that with Apple Mail. Other than a few things I still feel that Apple Mail is easier and works so much better with mobile me.

When im sending photos to my project manager or clients, they are coming back to me stating that they can't save the images as separate files and that they are embedded in the email. I have 'send windows friendly files' checked as well... not only it does this to my jpg's, gifs, and pngs, it is doing this to my PSDS as well... Anybody have a solution or idea of how i can fix this problem? Should i just switch to another email application?

I use Apple's Mail program and also my school's webmail (outlook.com) in conjuction to check my school email. However, for some strange reason, my inbox on outlook.com will only hold up to 2 weeks of mail. My inbox in Mail will still be intact, yet for the life of me, I can't figure out why my webmail inbox is disappearing. I've checked every possible setting on outlook.com to no avail. I've also checked Mail's settings, but haven't seen anything as far as deleting older mail. BTW, we're allowed 25 gigs on outlook.com so they shouldn't be deleting them automatically.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm not changing back to a Windows user, it's just that I *need* to get my contacts onto Outlook 2007 as well. My contacts in Entourage are organized nicely, with each contact's name and e-mail address. Really simple information. I then go to "Export", and choose to export the contacts to a "tab-delimited text" file (it's my only choice). Basically, I get this .txt file. I then go to my Outlook 2007, and have tried importing both "Comma Separated Values" and "Tab Separated Values" with my .txt file. Unfortunately, while each contact's name and e-mail DO get imported, the format is completely messed up. I get this "map field" window when I choose to import by Tab Separated Values, but I've tried all different combinations, and every time, the names and e-mails simply jumble up altogether. Has anyone tried importing Entourage contacts into Outlook 2007? And if so, can you please give me some instructions on how to do so?

View 10 Replies View RelatedMoved to my new Mac Book Pro from Linux 3 days ago. My first Apple computer.Wonderful machine and OS. Set up my G Mail account on Apple Mail with the wizard and was receiving e mails no problem. Today all of the mail from both my inbox and sent mail disappeared. I did notice that both my incoming mails and sent mails end up accessible in the folder G Mail/All Mail-- the messages from both inbox and sent mail that disappeared from their respective boxes are in there. In reviewing my various mail settings I notice that Apple Mail set the account up as IMAP rather than POP. I also noticed that there was no way to change this i.e. edit the account. I am not that well versed on differences between POP and IMAP. I also tried rebuilding the inbox after I noticed that the contents disappeared and it made no difference. It is essential that I keep copies of everything on my local machine as well as the server.

I've used Google's instructions to set up my Gmail accounts on Mac Mail using IMAP. The only issue I'm finding is when I have messages in my inbox, all I see are the emails that were sent to me. To see the messages I've send, I can only do this by clicking on sent mail.
Is there anyway to see my messages in their threads just by clicking on the inbox, just how it works when using Gmail via their web site? I can get the view I want when I click "All Mail" but then I have hundreds of emails rather than what's in my inbox. I've searched everywhere but have yet to find a solution.
Would like to know how to transfer mail from apple mail to outlook.Â

Seems when Apple Mail checks for new mail (Mail provider is Google), it does show up in the All Mail folder that Google provides, but the new messages are not showing up in the Apple Mail inbox.
When I check this in the Google mail web client, mail appears as normal. Â
I'm missing messages, so this is something I'd like to figure out what's going on. Â

I would love for my multiple "Mailboxes" (folders) to go under the Inbox like such: The reason being when I create new mailboxes they go to a completely separate heading under that e-mail address. So when my searches in Apple Mail are not comprehensive, as it'll often search the Inbox without searching the other Mailboxes. This is such a simple feature yet my web searches have proved fruitless. I've also contacted my ISP Host Gator but recommend that I ask Apple or search the internet.

But, If I go there and hit "Not Junk" it doesn't move back to the inbox, and changes so it isnt brown or "junk", but it still sits in the "Junk" section. I read some discussions on this forum but they are obsolete as they were with snowLeopard and Outlook 2011. I've got a work emailadress active on Apple Mail on my computer at work and I got the same account active on Outlook on my home computer. The thing is however that I'm receiving emails on Apple Mail that I'm not receiving in Outlook and vica versa.Does anyone have any experience with that?
