I tried the same in my Apple Mail like this ---> View > Sort by > From. Also checked the "Organize by Thread" But it doesn't seem same like how Outlook arranged me mails.

Apr 30, 2009Email recipients using Mac Mail have been reporting that when they get email from me (from Outlook2007 in the PC), it would include all the tags. Also happens when I send as RTF. Plain text is fine.
So I did an experiment and since I am a mac user too, I tested it myself on my mac mail. Test scenario is this:
1. I send email from Outlook2007 (PC) using HTML as default.
2. I open with Macmail, I get garbage. (see below and/or attached file for illustration.)
3. I open same email on Entourage, it's fine.
4. I open same email on webmail, it's fine.

Aug 21, 2010I will be switching from Outlook 2007 to Office for Mac Outlook 2011 for my business email/calendar/contacts. I am pleased with Outlook 2007, but despise my PC otherwise. I will be using Microsoft Exchange as my email server. My concerns: Calendar Syncing, Accessing Archived PST files, Transitioning current mail folders.
I have a couple questions regarding this switch:
- Will Office for Mac Outlook 2011 accommodate by business needs and offer a comparable application as Office 2007 (PC version)?
- What roadblocks or issues should I be aware of when making this switch?

See this screen: [URL:...] I have just gotten back to the Mac now from 10-11 months in hell with Windows-stuf, so I am really eager to get this fixed. Feb 19, 2010A couple of months ago I was at the head office and connected to the in house Wifi. When I did, a bunch of shared drives or folders showed in my finder under "Shared". I figured no biggie, when I got away from the head office they'd go away. But they didn't. And I can't figure out how to get rid of them.See attached photo.

May 9, 2010Well I am about to give up on Apple's OS-X Mail program. In my business am I converting from Windows laptop's to MacBooks. Everybody is really happy to start using OS-X and have the benefit of the improved stability and extended battery life. So far so good. But now we have run in to a severe problem in the compatibility of Apple Mail and Outlook. If we send emails to Outlook clients (99% of the time) our signatures end up as and separate .HTML attachment in the Outlook client. We tried everything but the main problem is that Apple Mail does not generate HTML-mail, but RTF-mail. This RTF format is compliant with the standards but Outlook uses its own RTF specs. So now I am forced to use Entourage (that works) but I want to get away from anything Microsoft because of the excessive price and very limited support. For a full licence I would have to pay $339 per user, just to get this compatibility issues out of the way. For 28 users that is still a lot of money (9500 $). Does anybody have an alternative, so I do not need to make Bill richer then he already is. I looked at Mozilla email client, does not work either.

Dec 9, 2009So I'm rolling out 10.6 on some Mac Pros in our office. So far it's gone fairly smoothly (aside from the fact that Xerox has decided to not bother make drivers for 10.6). We're switching over to Apple's Mail/iCal/Contacts instead of the buggy Entourage. Of the 4 users, 3 of them are working fine. Sometimes their AD session goes buggy and they can't access shared folders on our server via smb, but a restart fixes it. I have one user who comes in every morning though, and her Apple Mail app can not sync with the Exchange 2007 server. It prompts her for her password and won't accept it. She can access shared folders though via smb and they open up right away, meaning it's recognizing her domain and user/pass with out her entering it manually.

Nov 1, 2010It looks very nice but I'm not sure if it's just me but Apple Mail just seems easier. I do like that you can flag emails and put them off for a certain day. It doesn't appear that I can do that with Apple Mail. Other than a few things I still feel that Apple Mail is easier and works so much better with mobile me.

Jul 21, 2008I am a graphic designer and i use apple mail as my main email application. When im sending photos to my project manager or clients, they are coming back to me stating that they can't save the images as separate files and that they are embedded in the email. I have 'send windows friendly files' checked as well... not only it does this to my jpg's, gifs, and pngs, it is doing this to my PSDS as well... Anybody have a solution or idea of how i can fix this problem? Should i just switch to another email application?

Applications :: Import Entourage Files To Outlook 2007?
Dec 14, 2007I'm not changing back to a Windows user, it's just that I *need* to get my contacts onto Outlook 2007 as well. My contacts in Entourage are organized nicely, with each contact's name and e-mail address. Really simple information. I then go to "Export", and choose to export the contacts to a "tab-delimited text" file (it's my only choice). Basically, I get this .txt file. I then go to my Outlook 2007, and have tried importing both "Comma Separated Values" and "Tab Separated Values" with my .txt file. Unfortunately, while each contact's name and e-mail DO get imported, the format is completely messed up. I get this "map field" window when I choose to import by Tab Separated Values, but I've tried all different combinations, and every time, the names and e-mails simply jumble up altogether. Has anyone tried importing Entourage contacts into Outlook 2007? And if so, can you please give me some instructions on how to do so?

Jan 25, 2010I'll try to provide as much detail as possible, but keep it simple. Running Fusion 3 (newest update) and XP Pro with Office 2007. Office connects to an Exchange 2007 server. Emails work great. However when attempting to access the OOF settings, I get an error "Your Out of Office settings cannot be displayed, because the server is currently unavailable. Try again later."
Google searches say this is a known issue with Outlook 2007 on an Exchange 2007 setup and that there are errors with AutoDiscovery (or something like that). I have talked to other's with Outlook 2007 and their OOF is working just fine (inhouse or through VPN), so the Exchange server settings are fine.
I think the problem is actually Fusion since it's not communicating with the Exchange server for the OOF settings. I don't quite understand how all of that works, sorry.
One suggestion was to change the network settings in Fusion from NAT to Bridged, however when I do that I lose all connections to the network. I have also set the MAC address on Fusion to that of the Mac with no change either.
As a test, I installed Office 2010 Beta and it's doing the same thing. Outlook 2003 apparently does not have this issue, but I haven't tested that yet on the Mac/Fusion.
Just to be sure, I downloaded every Windows/Office update to eliminate any configuration changes. Anyone else experienced this?
UPDATE: OK, if the system is on the network, the OOF works fine through Fusion, however if connected to VPN (using the built in client) it gives the above errors.

So when my searches in Apple Mail are not comprehensive, as it'll often search the Inbox without searching the other Mailboxes. This is such a simple feature yet my web searches have proved fruitless. I've also contacted my ISP Host Gator but recommend that I ask Apple or search the internet.

Jun 25, 2012I have a Macbook that is about 4 years old. The charger doesn't connect and charge properly - It works if I hold it on the computer. My question is - how can I tell if I need a new charger or if it is the charging dock in the computer. The magnetic connection does not seem to be clicking in the way it is suppose to. Any one else have experience with this who can offer some ideas?

Oct 16, 2008I am currently a pc user and am considering getting a mac. Before I make the leap, I am trying to find out some info. Currently, I'm using Vista with Outlook 2007. I will have to continue using pc for work but would like to use mac for photos, etc... My question deals with Outlook 2007 and Entourage 2008 compatability/integration. Does anybody know if Outlook and Entourage use the same pst file? Is it still a pst file in Entourage? I will be loading XP on mac via boot camp and/or Parallel/Fusion. Can Outlook 2007 and Entourage 2008 share the same pst file? I am hoping that they both use the same file so that when I'm in XP, my Outlook will have all emails, sent & received, as when I'm in OSX and Entourage 2008. Am I going to have to import file evertime I change OS? Also, does anybody have an opinion on Parallel or Fusion. What's the difference and what are the pro and cons of either.
