ITunes :: Using IPhone With Macbook Pro Previously Synched With Laptop?
Apr 24, 2012
I have recently purchased a MacBook Pro, previously using a windows based laptop . When I've tried to upload some music from the macbook to my iphone 4 I keep getting a message that its synched with another itunes library and all the content will be erased. I've deauthorised the old laptop, how can I get some new music transferred over to the phone?Â
Whenever I try to sync my iphone 4S, the same thing happens. I get a message saying that I don't have enough storage. I'm not sure why as I don't have a lot of apps. I actually have enough storage in my ICLOUD account but it is not recognizing it even after I changed the settings to automatically back up it to ICLOUD.
I was able to download purchased music from my phone to itunes on my laptop. Non-purchased music did not transfer. How do I go about getting all my songs to transfer?
Is there any way to permanently keep my iphone and iPad apps OFF of my macbook pro? Every time I connect, I ensure that "sync apps" is not checked, but then iTunes says I will lose my purchases if I don't transfer them over. This does not seem to be the case, however- aren't all of your app purchases automatically registered on iCloud? So I click transfer purchases, but this of course then puts EVERY APP onto my iTunes, which takes up a whopping 36GB of space. I can't afford to have that much space taken up! Should I just ignore the iTunes warning, or is there another way to ensure that iTunes doesn't keep these seemingly useless and HUGE backups on my macbook?
I have tried on both my Apple laptop and desktop to connect my iPhone to iTunes. The computers recognize it because it charges the phone. I have restarted both computers and iPhone.
On my old IMac i purchased 3 movies and a season of a tv show. when signing into iTunes on my new macbook air it wont allow the download of theses movies or tv shows. it says to check the connection and the connection is fine. what should i do?
Just purchased my first Macbook ever! I'm catching on quickly however I've run into a snag with file sharing between my other Apple devices. How can I pair and send files between my MBA and iPhone 5s? I've made the change in system preferences to allow file sharing, yet still pops up on my iPhone that my MBA doesn't support this.Â
Also I've enabled Airdrop on both devices yet I can't seem to get that to work as well. I would love to be able to easily send pictures or documents from my MBA to my iPhone 5s via Airdrop and vice versa.Â
How is it that Apple didn't fix this? I have all the current software and hardware and there is no way that Apple didn't foresee people wanting to use applications to sync and work across platforms with their $3000 investment in Apple products.
How can I find my iPhone 4s contact phone numbers (back up) on my Mac Book lap top. I looked in iTunes but there is no where to click on, other than music, store, library and stuff like that.Â
I have 5 users on this iMac, each of them has iTunes. Each of them has to download the latest iTunes update to install it. This is a waste of time and bandwidth! Surely there is a way to find the first one to be downloaded and then share it between the users so that everyone's iTunes can be updated? And I'd like to apply this to iMovie, iPhoto etc too!Presently, I can't even figure out where they are stored.

Why am I getting this error message every time I open iTunes? I'm giving the option of Sync or don't Sync and click sync and there are no problems. But why does it open with: You are signed in with a different Apple ID than previously used with Podcasts. Do you want to sync these podcast subscriptions and stations with?
Is anyone else annoyed that the billing for iTunes 8.1 implies that before 8.1 you couldn't rip CD's at the 256kbps iTunes Plus AAC? Why did they say this? Is it just for those people who are clueless about this stuff, since if 8.1 is your first install the default will be 256kbps?I ripped my entire library at 256kbps AAC (cbr). I have an Apogee Duet and Grado SR225 headphones and I can only just barely tell the difference between Apple Lossless or linear, and 256 AAC. Same goes for my home stereo system with Energy Pro 22 speakers and NAD 2200 amp and 1240 preamp and Rotel CD player. I don't have the best equipment in the world, but it certainly is good enough for these listening tests. Now, 128kbps is another story. I can definitely hear a difference between that and 256 or ALAC or linear.
Purchases originally made from iTunes store on a PC, although they appear in Mac iTunes, are not available to play or sync on the Mac- says this computer is not authorized, although it is.
How do I authorize my 100+ previously purchased itunes music that is in protected aac form? It prompts that my computer is not authorized even though it is.
I own an iPad mini Gen1 with a ton of music, apps etc. from my old computer which broke down recently. I'd like to sync my iPad to my Time Capsule, apps, backups and all without losing any files. I still have access to the old Apple ID. So, how do I sync without deleting everything on it? I already deleted my entire iPod trying to do this. Â
When I open my iCal on my Mac at work, and also on iCloud via the intertnet, I realized it's not synced up to my phone and items are missing. WiFi is on on the iPhone. I can see what I input on desktop/icloud in the phone, but not what's input on the phone in desktop/icloud online. It should all sync up automatically right? Also, how do you put music onto iCloud?
The problem is that when I transferred files over from my laptop and my desktop, the itunes library the new computer picked up was my old one on the desktop. So I need to change it. I was able to sync my iphone with the correct itunes, but would like to get it onto my new laptop. Any suggestions. I heard that I need to get rid of the library that is incorrect on the new computer. What is the best way to do that and then transfer the better one? Or is there another way!
Recently purchased a MacBook Pro. Want to know how I can copy/transfer my iTunes library from my "old" laptop (not apple product) to my new MacBook Pro?
