How can I find my iPhone 4s contact phone numbers (back up) on my Mac Book lap top. I looked in iTunes but there is no where to click on, other than music, store, library and stuff like that.

Originally, notifications from Messages.app would show the contact name sending the message. I'm not sure what caused it to stop, but now all notifications show up as the phone number of the contact. In the actual app, the names look fine. Is there some way to get contact names to show up again?

Just purchased my first Macbook ever! I'm catching on quickly however I've run into a snag with file sharing between my other Apple devices. How can I pair and send files between my MBA and iPhone 5s? I've made the change in system preferences to allow file sharing, yet still pops up on my iPhone that my MBA doesn't support this.
Also I've enabled Airdrop on both devices yet I can't seem to get that to work as well. I would love to be able to easily send pictures or documents from my MBA to my iPhone 5s via Airdrop and vice versa.

View 9 Replies View RelatedSo basically trying to format my Macbook pro, I guess I deleted the software on my computer as well. I didn't back my computer up. All that shows, is a gray screen with a folder with a question mark on it. I have the OS installation disk on an external CD-ROM drive and all that pops up when it's plugged in is the apple logo. Ive tried CMND-R, CMND-C, CMND-V, and just simply pressing the option button at startup and nothing has seemed to work, i end up at the same screen. When I just did the option, it gave me the opportunity to use the disk, but it goes right back to the apple screen.

I did not restore my whole system from time machine because I do not plan on keeping everything I had.
Anyways, I just hooked time machine up and restored some of my old applications. When opening these applications it is asking me for the serial numbers or registrations.

I have a contact for my mom which used to be her first name and last name which I later changed to just "Mom" in the first name box after getting an iPhone. At the same time I started syncing with MobileMe and have been having this problem for about 2 years. Every time I send her an email it changes her name from just Mom to Mom and then adds her last name back into the last name field.

My girlfriend had her iPhone 5 sent in to repair the sleep/wake button and have the battery replaced, and before we left I made a full back up to her MacBook Pro. A few days later the MacBook won't boot up and only displays a blank grey screen. I took the MacBook into the Apple store since this is the only way to restore her photos and music and the Genius diagnosed it as a Logic Board failure and as it is out of warranty, would be quite expensive to fix. If I mounted the hard drive to an external enclosure, is it possible to pull the backup files and restore her phone with a laptop running windows?
