What is the best way to be able to play music from Itunes on my Laptop through my TV?
is their a version of myspace for a mac laptop, because music doesnt play on the profiles. It doesnt load it at all. So i was cerious to know if their was their own version of myspace for this defferent type of computer?
View 1 Replies View RelatedThe problem is that when I transferred files over from my laptop and my desktop, the itunes library the new computer picked up was my old one on the desktop. So I need to change it. I was able to sync my iphone with the correct itunes, but would like to get it onto my new laptop. Any suggestions. I heard that I need to get rid of the library that is incorrect on the new computer. What is the best way to do that and then transfer the better one? Or is there another way!

I have recently purchased a MacBook Pro, previously using a windows based laptop . When I've tried to upload some music from the macbook to my iphone 4 I keep getting a message that its synched with another itunes library and all the content will be erased. I need space on my computer - video files take up most space and I have a bunch of music videos in my iTunes library. My question is -
If I upgrade to iTunes Match - would that mean I can then delete files on my computer in my iTunes library and still access them later?
Brand new convert to Mac here: After receiving an iPod Touch from my boss when he upgraded to an iPhone, I have fallen in love with the Mac hardware and OS. I just got a new macbook and would like to transfer my iTunes from my old PC laptop. I am also a neophyte to iTunes so forgive me if there is a very simplistic answer to this issue.
The physical music is located on my external drive connected to the PC with the iTunes original music locations pointed to it . My specific question is, if I backup iTunes, restore to the Mac, plug in the external drive to the Mac, will it work seamlessly? I'm not sure if the existing iTunes music locations will re-synch since the music locations on the laptop iTunes are mapped to the "G:" drive. If it won't work that way, what do you recommend as the best way to go about it? I want to make sure I don't waste as much time as when I initially set up my iTunes/iPod touch (simply stuck in "PC" mindset).
I had a crash on my HP laptop and had to re-install windows XP on it. I have also installed again Itunes on the laptop.
Question: Is there a way to transfer the contents of the many songs from Itunes Desktop (all from my own CD's) to the laptop?
also, their all .avi video's. and i'm really confused! also, quicktime isn't letting me play .avi videos for some reason! and vlc won't download for me. and i'll put them on a USB but they wont download on my computer!

View 3 Replies View RelatedOk so i am trying to figure out the best way to do this over 3g. I want to purchase a WD My book live to store my photos, videos, and all of my music. I know that I can remap my itunes to find the files while i am on the same wifi network.
What i am trying to figure out is can i remotely access and play my music from the WD My book live? Basically by passing my laptop. Is the best why to do this is with a VPN? If so what will let you access an external NAS drive, and run a itunes app?
Is this possible to do or is more pain then its worth?

In subsequent downloads it appears the two versions have synched. Is there any way to get the SD versions to play after the HD versions have been deleted? Or did I lose both in trying to save disk space?

I have downloaded a song and when I go to play it...it bounces off of the song and will not play. I have iTunes 10.6.1......Apple charged me for the song already. I went to Support but could not find a solution specific to my issue. I have downloaded over 2500 songs and this has not happened before. This song was one of nine other songs I downloaded that evening...all others came through successfully.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded my system HDD to an SSD with a new install of OSX 10.6.4 and mimicked the settings I had on my previous set up to replicate it. however, when for example I was using iTunes to play music the screen saver would come on and a short time later the system would pause iTunes and goes into Sleep mode.
my previous install never did that so I'm not sure if its because of the SSD and it not being mechanical it doesnt recognize it accessing or seeking 'per se' because regardless of unchecking "Put hard disks to sleep when possible" it still does it. here is an image of energy saver settings; btw I had the system plugged into and still went into sleep mode when iTunes was playing and even other media formats such as Video in iTunes or VLC.
I transferred all my itunes library to an external hard drive.I had all my songs in itunes and then went to "preferences" and set itunes to look on my external hard drive for my itunes. Then I went to "library" and then "consolidate", and it moved all my library over to my external. I can verify that my songs are all there on my externalHowever, now, itunes won't play any songs of mine. I double click on the song in itunes and it just wont play. View 2 Replies View RelatedI love using the play/pause button on my macbook when used with itunes, it's handy as ****. But the problem is, that it affects VLC as well, and it plays a video and the audio interrupts whatever music I'm listening to (even when no video is opened but vlc is running, it'll open my last played video and play that alongside the music). I never had this problem with the old version of vlc, but ever since updating, vlc has now been wired to work with the friggen play/pause button.
I tried looking in VLC preferences to see if it could be disabled but couldn't find anything regarding the mac play/pause keyboard button. Any ideas on how I can stop vlc from being affected by this key? And I'm not keen on the idea of going back to the older version unless it's my only option.

I got my new 13" MBP two weeks ago and I've been using the F8 button solely for playing and pausing songs in iTunes. I think it's great to have this because I can easily stop my music when I want to watch a youtube video and the audio is coming from somewhere else and not iTunes for example The problem is, whenever I press the F8 button now, it stops the song in iTunes but it starts playing a video in VLC...I checked both system preferences and VLC preferences but couldn't find anywhere to control what the F8 button controls.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIt appears that the function keys to control iTunes/Quicktime (FF, Play/Pause, and RW) are not working. At one point they did but now it doesn't. All the other function keys are functioning just fine and dandy. I have the "Use F1, F2, etc. keys as standard function keys" unchecked in the preferences. I looked around and there doesn't seem to be any setting that would explain the sudden malfunctioning of the keys. Is there something I may have missed?

I just got a Apple TV 2 and that has been working nearly seamlessly via a wireless connect from the Time Capsule The problem is with the Mac Book Pro (early 2011, 17", 2.2 ghz Intel Core i7, 8GB DDR3, AMD radeon HD 6750 1024 MB Graphics, all updated on all software)What my twist is that when I start to stream a tv show from iTunes via home sharing it will play for 5-20 min and then just stop and return to the main iTunes menu This occurs on TV Shows purchased from Apple, From DVD's I have ripped with HandBrake and Bit Torrents I have also ripped with HandBrake (Into Apple TV 2 format) I've read over and over the Apple suggested trouble shooting. The only non Apple product/software in the mix is Norton for Mac on the Mac Book and the iMac however I have turned off the Firewall on that as well as experimented with turning on and off the Mac Firewall I have a older router from my ISP however the Apple TV is working fine so I *think* that has been elminated
