ITunes :: Re-use A Previously Downloaded Update?

I have 5 users on this iMac, each of them has iTunes. Each of them has to download the latest iTunes update to install it. This is a waste of time and bandwidth! Surely there is a way to find the first one to be downloaded and then share it between the users so that everyone's iTunes can be updated?And I'd like to apply this to iMovie, iPhoto etc too!Presently, I can't even figure out where they are stored.

I started the OS 10 Maverick update and needed to pause it to do other work more efficiently. After I read some of the 3, 2, and 1 star reviews I decided I no longer want to update my computer at this time. Can I cancel it completely now that it is paused?

Why am I getting this error message every time I open iTunes? I'm giving the option of Sync or don't Sync and click sync and there are no problems. But why does it open with: You are signed in with a different Apple ID than previously used with Podcasts. Do you want to sync these podcast subscriptions and stations with?

Is anyone else annoyed that the billing for iTunes 8.1 implies that before 8.1 you couldn't rip CD's at the 256kbps iTunes Plus AAC? Why did they say this? Is it just for those people who are clueless about this stuff, since if 8.1 is your first install the default will be 256kbps?I ripped my entire library at 256kbps AAC (cbr). I have an Apogee Duet and Grado SR225 headphones and I can only just barely tell the difference between Apple Lossless or linear, and 256 AAC. Same goes for my home stereo system with Energy Pro 22 speakers and NAD 2200 amp and 1240 preamp and Rotel CD player. I don't have the best equipment in the world, but it certainly is good enough for these listening tests.Now, 128kbps is another story. I can definitely hear a difference between that and 256 or ALAC or linear.

I have recently purchased a MacBook Pro, previously using a windows based laptop . When I've tried to upload some music from the macbook to my iphone 4 I keep getting a message that its synched with another itunes library and all the content will be erased. I've deauthorised the old laptop, how can I get some new music transferred over to the phone?Â

I own an iPad mini Gen1 with a ton of music, apps etc. from my old computer which broke down recently. I'd like to sync my iPad to my Time Capsule, apps, backups and all without losing any files. I still have access to the old Apple ID. So, how do I sync without deleting everything on it? I already deleted my entire iPod trying to do this. Â

I just downloaded the latest update to Parallels. I shut down Parallels before running the update, and I even did a reboot of the computer.And yet every time I run the update program it keeps telling me to "shut down these running and suspended virtual machines" and refers to "My Boot Camp"Like I said, I rebooted the computer first. I wanted to update my OS to 10.5.6 with auto update. When I was downloading the update file, the internet disconnected for a while but it finished at last. Then the system failed to be updated with message" the file is damaged". I want to download again but the auto update always showed that the update file already downloaded and the system is updated with the damaged file. What should I do? how to deleted the downloaded message and let the system download again? where is the downloaded updated file?

Safari 5.1.4 update downloaded into Lion 10.7.3 on a Mac mini earlier today. Won't launch. Creates a report saying it is 5.1.2."Reopen" just repeats a report (many sent from different accounts!)As far as I can see other apps still work including Adobe CS4 and Firefox.Cannot enter safe mode to try it there by using shift on reboot as suggested for Lion.Not sure what extensions I have for Safari but very few. Definitely Ghostery (wouldn't be without it).Have looked at "get info" and it is running (or, to be more precise, not running) in 64 bit mode. Tried 32 but that didn't work either so have restored to 64. I have run out of ideas, short of abandoning Safari and waiting for the next update.

When I try to use Software Update it downloads the file but will not open, and shows me the error message, "Update can't be installed - Software Update could not expand the package correctly". This happened the first time a week ago and I thought was an isolated event, but it is happening again, so obviously there is a problem with Software Update. If I download it from Apple through Safari it works.

where on the hard drive to place the Quicktime update once it has downloaded onto a Mac? I can't seem to find the right location, and now cannot operate iTunes. I am using Firefox. My husband uses Safari, and I think I may have to download for his ID, as well.

I downloaded OS X 10.7.4 update and my entire airport network became dreadfully slow. I've been using my iMac as a basestation and my ibooks could find it easily...not anymore...they can find it but the connection works very slow if not at all..

I tried to update the overdrive media app from my library. it downloaded a dmg file into my download folder. I could not open this file. I tried changing gatekeeper preferences, rightclicking the file and and opening it from that dialogue box, but all that happens is it starts to open and then nothing. No dialogue box, or message of any kind. this has happened with other app updates downloaded from outside the app store.Â

Have downloaded an update file 'skype_5.6.0.143' for iMac. Have an icon for it in Finder but unable to proceed from there. Double clicking on this icon brings a warning box advising disk image could not be opened as not recognised. Can drag or copy/paste icon into Application folder with the same response.

I recently downloaded the lastest OS update (Lion X 10.7.4) on my MBP that I purchased in November of 2011, and since downloading it my MBP has been making a constant "humming" noise from the right speaker/disc drive area. I also don't have any audio output for FaceTime or Skype. I attempted to use Photo Booth to record a video and it doesn't record any audio. I attempted to reset SMC and reinstall Lion with no resolution of the problems.

I don't usually check my itunes account, but today I actually decided I wanted to buy music. I put a $100 gift card I got from buying a Mac for college in a few months ago, and bought like $9 worth of stuff and just left it idle. It says that about 2 weeks ago there were purchases made to download an app and then some gem **** (in app content) that cost $80 ******* dollars that was bought. I'm not worried about my personal information because i don't use a legitimate adress and only buy gift cards, because I like to live off the apple grid i guess...w/e, WHO DO I EMAIL TO GET THAT MONEY BACK!!!

If I create a smart playlist in itunes and deselect live updating then how exactly does the smart playlist load up?
The reason I ask is that started setting up Smart Playlists for all of the artists on my computer and they're all set to live update which is consequently slowing down my itunes. I realize that I may not necessarily need that. My question is though...how exactly would I go about manually updating a smart playlist that has live updating turned off?
