I checked all the home sharing setting on the mac and on the ipad, restarted everything, to no avail! My apple tv works fine! I recently updated my OS on the iMac to 10.7.4, would this cause the issue? I am running 5.1.1 on the ipad.

Aug 23, 2014I am new to iPad, barely have a clue how to use it. I find apps on the iTunes on the computer and download, but it won't sync to my iPad. It keeps saying 'you need to authorize this computer', which I do, only to be told 'it is already authorized', and it goes on like this. The apps can't be found on the iPad Itunes (I looked for even popular apps like Whisper and it isn't coming up) so it seems that the only option is to get the computer to sync with the Ipad--but how? I thought Ipad were intuitive to use but I am not find this at all right now.

OS X Yosemite :: Why Does IPhoto Open During Startup If IPad Is Connected
Nov 30, 2014I usually connect my iPad as soon as I've heard the startup chimes, but since upgrading to Yosemite, whenever the iPad is connected, iPhoto opens. Usually, nothing will open until all my extension things like Dropbox are happy, but iPhoto somehow manages to kick off. Now, I don't like iPhoto. I don't understand it and it rarely does anything I want it to, so I don't often use it and I particularly do not want it to open, slowing up starting and serving no purpose.Â

Dec 8, 2014Since Yosemite I've been leaving Bluetooth on (for Handoff), and I've noticed nearly every day that a device called "Flex" connects. After a quick Google search it seems to be a Fitbit. I don't have a Fitbit, but live in an apartment complex, so I assume it's one of my neighbors. I can disconnect it, but it keeps connecting again. I've never had a Fitbit, Is there any way I can block it from connecting?

Nov 1, 2010I'm new to the whole Apple scene, been using (and still am using) Windows up to this point but now that I've saved up some cash I want to make the switch. Running a 4-year old Windows desktop and 1-year old Windows netbook right now, sick and tired of this!
I'm a photographer, so I need a computer that can edit photos and video and not just to browse. I spend 5 days a week at my University and the weekends at home, so there is a little issue with the mobility. I have over 30GB of music by the way. Budget allowing, I can get the [ MC511ZP/A - iMac 27"/2.8 ghz Intel Core i5 /4 GB/1 TB HD/ATI Radeon HD 5750 with 1 TB ] as an iMac, or the [ MC373LL/A - MBP 15" 2.66 Ghz i7/4 GB/ 500 GB HD/ 512 MB GDDR3 Intel HD ] if I were to get a Macbook Pro.
Given the circumstances, would it be more reasonable for me to get the MBP+iPad so that I could have a powerful computer I could easily move between my two houses while at the same time having a super-mobile tablet to use in school and for non-heavy duty computing activities, the MBP+iPod Touch which would be the same concept as the iPad but then I'd have to use the MBP for e-mailing and web browsing and just stick to having mobile music, or the 27" iMac which gives me the most bang for the buck and a really pretty screen while having the iPad as my mobile computer although it would mean I would have to go 2-3 days a week with only my iPad as a computer excepting long vacations when I would just take my iMac back to our family house?

Jun 16, 2009I have a mid-late 2008 MacBook connected to a Dell U2211H monitor using a Mini DisplayPort -> VGA connection.
When I use 1920x1080, I only get 60 Hz and the display is a fuzzy (text). Also, there are black bars. Why?
Will my issues be solved using a Mini DisplayPort -> DVI connection? Or should I exchange it for the 2209?

Mar 13, 2012I've been syncing my devices for years, but after I updated to iTunes 10.6 then attempted to sync my iPhone 4, iTunes aborts and does not complete the sync. I tried my iPad as well with exactly the same results. So, I expect that something has begun corrupted in iTunes and I tried to revert to the previous version of iTunes with Time machine, but the Mac reported that I cannot remove iTunes.It could be a library that is corrupt or a cache of some sort, but I can't tell.Â

Dec 5, 2014I was looking to access the file sharing functionality of one of my apps (AV Player HD) in iTunes 12 and wasn't able to find out where or how to do this in the new version.Â
After a bit of searching on the internet I gathered I needed to select my device (iPad in this case) from the devices drop down, then on the left hand sidebar under the menu heading 'On My Device' I should see "Apps" listed there along with Music and Movies etc. I have:
Music
MoviesTv Shows
Books
Audio
Tones
and then some music playlists..That's it. So my questions are:
1. where is 'Apps'?
2. how am I supposed to access file sharing on AV Player HD if I can't see this menu item?Â
