My IPad (1) keeps showing " user name or password incorrect" .I go to settings and all is okay ,I even deleted email account and reentered the info .How do I correct?

Mail on my Pro suddenly says incorrect username and/or password. Resubmitting password does not help. Mail is fine on my iPad and Phone. I can also log into the mail's website with no issue. Until now mail has never been an issue on my Mac. I tried deleting and re-adding the account. Get the same message when it tries to verify the login during setup.

I put in the incorrect username/password when asked to by iPhoto when i upgraded to Iphoto11, i want to send a photo from Iphoto, now it will not send as it states i have the wrong combination. Every time I try to log into my webmail from my computers or iPhone, I get an incorrect user name or password error message and haven't been able to receive my mail in my inbox. The server (Cox Communications) is telling me I need malware or spyware or whatever the heck one uses for this type of thing. I've never had to worry about that before but have recently posted items on Ebay, Craigslist and also a resume online which is about the time I seemed to start having problems with my server connection.Â

In order to make my wireless internet network secure, I added a password to it today. Every other computer in the house, as well as my XBox 360, is able to connect to the internet using the password that I set up. For some reason, when I try to connect to my Macbook, it tells me that the password is wrong, yet it works with the other 3 computers in my house. What am I missing? Do I need to change my settings on Airport? My wireless router is obviously working so what do I need to do?

I just noticed my available HD volume as approx 4 GB. This is strange because I usually have about 28 GB. I don't think I have done anything in the past few days which has loaded 24GB onto my harddisk.
Furthermore, everything is running just as smoothly/quickly as usual whereas any available space under 20GB would slow things down immensely.
Therefore I get the impression that the available HD space is not what it shows, and in fact, much more.
I have tried to 'check volume' in the help programme but this gives an error. Unfortunately the text is in Dutch but the error translates as : 'volume needs to be "corrected".
I am afraid to do this as I may erase my entire harddisk?

I've got MacBook Unibody late 2008 and Snow Leopard. I've got an issue, becouse sometimes when I turn on my MB it shows on battery bar 0%, and when I look to the iStat Nano/coconut battery it shows that battery capacity is about 3%, sometimes I cannot turn on my MB, but it was fully charged a few minutes before, only if I connect AC Adapter and it starts also with this Service Battery. But after some restarts everything goes normal. Capacity is 100%, battery charge is same as before this issue (or a bit less, due those restarts etc...
Sorry for this chaotic explaination, but it's really annoying, I do not think that I should buy a new battery, becouse it has 166 cycles, so it is not so much to change battery (I don't think it's nothing, but of course it is not huge no. of cycles). I tried to restart SMC, calibrate - but it does nothing.
I realize this is probably not related to a iMAC alone but that is what I have and am experiencing problems using my email. After installing Safari 4 I began to have problems. I attempted to use my email and was prompted to provide my password. This is very unusual because I have not had to do that since I got the machine going about 5 months ago. So I type in my password or what I thought it should be and it comes back with incorrect password. I have made a half dozen attempts to locate the correct pop-up or panel that will allow me to change my password to see if this will work. No luck, arm's up in the air until I contact Apple on Thursday unless someone points this Old Man in the correct direction and I get things working tonight or when I return from work tomorrow.:

I have a 2 year old macbook that just refuses to connect to my wifi, I also have 4 other apple devices that connect seamlessly. it registers the network, it joins the net work and then fails, I have had several different error messages as follows while re entering my password I get a dropdown box saying I have changed settings, this then sends me back to the preferences to start again. and then i get error message that my password is incorrect (I can confirm it is correct) I have also been to the genius bar, and we managed a connection for the duration of the visit ( a healthy reading too apparantly)they carried out a hardwear diagnoistics check and it was given a full bill of health. I was advised to insert the reinstallation disk and carry out a reinstall - I have done this and the problem is still there. I'm having problems screen sharing between an iMac running Snow Leopard and a G4 iBook running Tiger. I have been trying to remotely screen share the iMac from the iBook. I enabled screen sharing on the iMac, and set a password for VNC. Then I tried two different clients on the iBook - Chicken of the VNC, and JollysFastVNC. Both exhibit the same symptoms: they claim the password for vnc access is incorrect, but I KNOW the password is correct, and I have tried several different ones.

Until some test are completed with User2, I cannot delete OldNameUser1's account. I then modified OldNameUser1's name to NewNameUser1 by: modifying the user name shown in the account's system preferencemodifying the user name shown in the account's system preference (advanced options) After renaming OldNameUser1, it's home folder is still identified as OldNameUser1. How can I modify it to NewNameUser1 ? When that will be done, will I be able to use OldNameUser1 as User2's account name?Â

As an administrator (without FileVault protection) on Snow Leopard, I created a standard user account (test user1) with FileVault protection. I just want to get familiar with it before creating real accounts. But as an administrator I can't look at files created by test user1. I get a message that I don't have permission.
Do I need FileVault on for the administrator in order to do this? If not, as an administrator, why can't I see what's on other user is doing? Is there a way as an administrator I can see what's files are downloaded, created, websites visited, etc? I'm aware of creating a user account with Parental controls, but would that give me the ability to see what's in the folder?
enabling root user in Snow Leopard (10A421). I tried to find the directory utility in utitlites but couldn't find it. I read in other threads that Directory utility has been removed and all the functionality is moved to user accounts. But didn't find how to enable the root user.

The only concern I'm wondering about is email contacts, Internet bookmarks and possibly a few other small things.
I've got my old iBook G4 with loads of docs, musics, pictures etc on it, and have bought a recent 2nd hand MBP running Snow Leopard, and want to transfer everything over to it. I tried Migration Assistant but this doesn't seem to work properly Tiger to SL, seems designed for Leopard to Snow Leopard. So:
1) Should I upgrade Tiger to Leopard on the G4, and then use Migration Assistant? If so do I need a special Tiger to Leopard upgrade disc or will an ordinary Leopard disc do?
2) Should I aim to have the same username on the MBP as on the G4, or will this cause problems?
3) Any other tips on getting my stuff from the old computer to the new one!
I've noticed a quirk in SW. If one deletes an account (for example, the original Admin account) and answers that he would like to delete the home folder, more often than not, he is asked for the permission of an Admin account. However, if one doesn't enter the credentials and presses cancel, the account (and home folder) disappear anyway. Is this normal? Or is there data residue hiding somewhere.Â
