QuickTime :: Paid For A Movie On ITunes But Won't Play On IMac Or Transfer To IPad?
May 18, 2012
Just paid for a movie on iTunes, (The Great Escape), but it won't play on my iMac or transfer to my iPad... what gives? When I try to play the movie I get error: "This movie requires QuickTime, which is not supported by this version of iTunes."When I try to move it to my iPad I get the error: "The Great Escape (1963)" was not copied to the iPad (My iPad) because it cannot be played on this iPad." I have iTunes 10.6.1 (7) 64-bit on a brand new iMac 2.7 Ghz Intel Core i5 with OSX 10.7.4. I'm a little ticked that I can't see a movie I just paid $9.99 for.Â
I rented a movie in iTunes and using the movies tab of my iPad, I clicked "Move" to move the movie over to the iPad. WHen I sync the device, it goes through the motions and after finishing, it moves the movie back over the iTunes side of the display. Effectively, not transferring the rented movie.I tried this same thing on my iPhone and got the same result.I'm using the latest version of iTunes and the iOS 5.1 on both the iPad 2 and the iPhone 4.
I have already rented several HD movies straight to my iPad (1) and never had a problem. Tonight however I decided to try a new thing and insted of renting straight to the iPad I tried to rent it in iMac first (iTunes) and than move it to the iPad (thought the download could be quicker and was right: it took some 15min to download an HD movie with the iMac when it normaly takes some 45min with the iPad on the same network).Â
The problem is, when I try to move the movie into the iPad and click "Apply", I get the message saying that "This movie can not play on this iPad".... I tried to do it directkly on the iPad (and paid for the movie again...) and it downloaded just fine... (though it took 45 minutes).Â
I'm have iTunes 10.6.1 and have just downloaded two HD movies from iTunes. They downloaded fine but when I went to play movies I get the following message "This movie requires QuickTime, which is not supported by this version of iTunes"! I can play the movie via QuickTime but not via iTunes. I am also unable to sync the movie to my iPad as it states during the sync that "this movie will not play on your iPad".
I bought a song and was billed for it on iTunes. When I tried to play it, a pop-up said, "This computer is not authorized to play....Would you like to authorize it?" I signed in, clicked the authorize button, and it says, "This computer is already authorized" and the window closed. I still can't play the song. I read online to check with the computer administrator and the file --> song info. It is registered with my email address. All other songs I have bought play with no problems. I heard also I could reinstall iTunes, so I went online and installed iTunes 10.6. It is installed but nothing is changed.
I have a film exported from final cut to Quick time pro (mov) and then I would like to transfer this format to Quick Time (normal) in a PC. There it reminds me to look for a plug in. What plug in or do I need Quick time pro for PC. The fact is: I do not get a picture in Quick time in PC. Only sound!
I just noticed that I cant bring up my music/tvshows/movies from my itunes library (from my mac) on my ipad. I checked all the home sharing setting on the mac and on the ipad, restarted everything, to no avail! My apple tv works fine! I recently updated my OS on the iMac to 10.7.4, would this cause the issue? I am running 5.1.1 on the ipad.
Just bought a new Canon Digital Camera, and took some Photos, and High Def videos (720p) with it. Came home, plugged the camera in, and my G4 found all the photos and movies, and I downloaded them to the proper folders. Problem: When Quicktime plays the movies, the sound is fine, but the video is completely slow, stuttering and hardly moves. Its unwatchable. My G4 is 1.4 gb Processor, and 2 Gb of Sdram. Fast, SATA Hard drives. It has the original AGP Video card that came with the Mac. Is my problem the Video card, or the G4 system itself.
QuickTime has started playing only 3 or 4 seconds of some avi movies. The timer bar goes all the way to the end, but only lasts a few seconds. The files play fine in VLC or on my WDTV, but not in Q.T. It seems very selective, sometimes it does it, then it will play just fine the next day. I have Perian installed. I have Tiger (10.4.11)
can anyone tell me what i may be doing wrong? i am trying to create a movie using video clips from my camera. when i download my movies to iphoto, they work great. when i drag them to imovie, they play but i do not get any sound. the 3 little check marks are there but still no sound!
I have had several movies that I have rented on my Macbook Air and then transfer to my Ipad...they just disapear when I go back a couple of days later...not an expiration issue as it is within the 30 days..
I am currently relaxing on the nice Beach of jamaica and have rent a movie from my German iTunes store. After clicking "Rent" and confirming the movie is not appearing under the "Download" Tab in iTunes neither in the Library.
I rented a movie on iTunes via my iPad.It loaded properly. I hit play and Air Play so it would connect to my Apple TV. I can now HEAR the movie, but I cannot see it (having said that, I see the movie, still, on my iPad screen....). Apple TV and AirPlay work fine with youtube videos and previously bought movies.
I am using ITunes 11.3.1 on a MacBookPro (OSX 10.9.4) and am getting the following message when I click on a Trailer: This movie requires QuickTime, which is not supported by this version of iTunes. I have QuickTime 10.3.Â
Info: MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Early 2013), OS X Mavericks (10.9.4)
I rented a movie this evening, it downloaded but an error message that says the movie requires quicktime that is not compatible with this version of iTunes. How do I watch the movie? I have never encountered this one before.MacBook Pro, Santa Rosa, OS 10.6.1, iTunes 10.6.1 (7)
I recently rented a movie for my son to watch, but have not been able to view it because iTunes is telling me that my computer is not authorized to view the movie. It gives me the option of authorizing the computer if I enter my iTunes Store password. I do and it gives me the same error message with the opportunity to again enter my password. If I click CANCEL it tells me what I already knew, and that is that the computer is already authorized. The rental purchase was made from this Mac and yet I'm not able to purchase it. Is there something that needs to be fixed in order to play this, or is this a bug in iTunes 10.5.3?
I downloaded a movie from the iTunes Store to my MacBook Pro (all latest software) and iTunes says it can't play the movie. Specific error says "This movie requires Quicktime which is not supported by this version of iTunes." I'm running iTunes 10.6.1 and MacOS 10.7.3.
I today purchased my first movie RENTAL on itunes, using my mac. My machine now shows the movie in the rentals tab, but when I click play, the player remains black and the timer does not move from 0.00. My purchases work absolutely fine, but for some reason this rental will not play.Â
