I've been having this problem for a couple of days now, it was working fine but all of a sudden I can't save a picture onto my desktop or any folder in finder directly from safari by dragging and dropping, I can do it in aperture and iphoto but not onto my desktop or finder, is there anyway I to correct this?!
Info:
MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.3)
I was using adobe final cut and I exported an flv movie and it put every single frame from the movie all on my desktop. Now the minute it loads it jams finder and I get a beachball that will never end.
I need Ti delete all these images but can get to that point before it freezes. I'm totally stuck, any ideas?? I have a proposal to finish tonight and I'm losing my mind.
Anyone notice that Apple's desktop images ( nature themes, etc) are not as sharp on the 27"?
View 7 Replies View RelatedRecently I have started using firefox for a change, plus it seems like flash content plays much smoother in firefox than safari.
Anyway, in safari when you want to save a picture you right click and can "Add Image to iPhoto Library"
There is no such option in firefox and I can't seem to find anything similar to that.
Could someone tell me how I save images from firefox to iPhoto?
I want to keep my school files on desktop two so they are all in the same place, and use desktop one as a place to perhaps save photos or other files not school related. When I swipe between desktops, the school files move between the desktops as I swipe but I want to keep them on one desktop all the time.

Downloading images from the web and saving them to a file has not been a problem in the past - suddenly, when I try to save. I get "document could not be exported as (title)" What is causing this? And what do I need to do to I save images?

I cannot save images in either Photoshop or Preview because the image is locked and/or I don't have the correct permissions. see the screenshot below for the exact error message. I've checked the permissions for both the image and the folders, and I appear to have the correct permissions (see screenshot). I also did a permissions reset in disk utility and am still getting the error message. I am not the Admin on this computer.

After install of Lion I noticed that Preview no longer allows me to Save As an image. I work in Photoshop and cannot open the images that I scan with Preview. PS will not recognize them. I used to be able to open the Preview image and Save As TIFF, JPEG etc but that option no longer exists...and I am with unusable images.

I'm going through multiple images from an old folder and each time I want to look at them Preview loads them on my desktop. Is there a way to delete them all at once from my desktop without clicking the "x" button on each one?

I am having a problem downloading images from Aperture to a file on my desktop.Â
View 1 Replies View RelatedEver since I upgraded to Lion from 10.6.7 a couple of weeks ago and then up to 10.7.4, one desktop picture appears off to the left and a little high. The other picture is a no-show. I have an 2010 27 iMac with a Dell 30" u3011 as a 2nd display, using an Apple Mini DisplayPort to Dual-Link DVI Adapter. The Dell's on the left set up vertically with the menu bar. The iMac on the right is horizontal. On startup, the iMac's desktop image aligns to the Dell's left side, runs across the top half of the Dell and ends a little onto the iMac.
The image gets cropped at the top. The Dell's image doesn't appear at all. I'm guessing it is offstage to the left? Where the iMac's image does not reach is a light gray, something a bit darker the Solid Gray Light. Everything functions fine: mouse, Finder, apps, but, still, what gives?? No monitor issues before Lion. The only fix I've found is temporary until the next restart or startup.I change the screen resolution and then change it back. Occasionally, this fix has survived a couple shut downs or restarts.
What I've also tried: Resetting the PRAM and the unplugging everything for 2 minutes trick. No good. I was using personal .png images. I shifted back to the default galaxy shot. I tried putting the menu bar on the iMac. I tried the other user account which is barebones and seldom used. nope. Several times, I deleted com.apple.desktop.plistcom.apple.desktop.plist.lockfilecom.apple.preference.desktopscreeneffect.plist Problem recurred right away. I typed killall Dock in Terminal. This worked to restore the desktop images right away, but the problem recurred on startup.

just curious when you "save image as desktop wallpaper" where does that actual file save to?
View 11 Replies View RelatedJust got my new 27" iMac with a huge screen. I positioned about five different apps on the screen all tiled neatly like a puzzle.I would like to permanently save this layout of apps. I realize Mission Control provides several desktop views. Problem is if I open other apps to perform temporary tasks, I can't seem to find a way to click one button and have everything go back to my neatly organized set of tiled apps on the desktop.

I can't save files to my desktop. I have no problem saving the same file anywhere else. WHen I try through excel, for example, it tells me the file is read only. When I try to save it as a different file name, a pop up tells me I do not have permission to save to the desktop. The same issue occurs when I attempt to take a screen shot (default save to desktop)
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been trying for hours and cannot fix it. I recently installed Office 2008 and since then I cannot save documents on my desktop. Also I cannot download software because it keep saying that the memory is full or "I don't have permission" to do so. I tried to reset the permissions in utilities, but that didn't work.

I understand these machines burn images into screens sometimes, but they fade back to normal after a while. My issue is that its taking less and less time to burn images into my screen. It's so bad, I avoid using the left side of the screen because simply leaving anything there for a full minute burns the crap out of it. Oddly, this only effects the left third of the screen.
I remember taking it up to an apple store (not fun, considering none are near me. The address their tech support gave me actually went to a pawn shop.) but they simply told me to leave the itunes visualizer running every now and then.
Back then it was just mildly irritating. Now I cant do anything with that side of the screen! Would replacing the LCD resolve this issue?
Below is a picture taken from my motorola razr. I know it's bad, but that's all I have.
I have some images I want to burn to dual layer DVD's on my i7 iMac.
Which type do I user, DVD+R or DVD-R.
I recently used Migration Assistant to move my desktop computer's files to my MacBook Pro. All is well, besides the fact that I now have three users on my MacBook Pro ; my original account, my transferred account, and a test account (but that's not the issue). I cannot save files to my desktop anymore, in the account that was migrated over from my desktop to my Macbook. I get an error that says the following: /Users/Desktop/(filename) could not be saved, because you do cannot change the contents of that folder. Change folder properties and try again, or try saving in a different location.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've noticed that finder, automatically saves unnecessary spam images and mixes them in with my important images, is there someway of either adding a spam label, to them, so they end up in another folder, or completely stopping the saving process entirely?

When I receive a jpg (not a jpeg) from a mac via email it wont open in either outlook or picture viewer etc (win xp). But if the same image is sent to any other PC (from the ma user) it opens OK.The added twist. If another pc user opens (which it does with no issues) then closes and sends back to the failing pc it opens with no issues!
