I've noticed that finder, automatically saves unnecessary spam images and mixes them in with my important images, is there someway of either adding a spam label, to them, so they end up in another folder, or completely stopping the saving process entirely?

When I receive a jpg (not a jpeg) from a mac via email it wont open in either outlook or picture viewer etc (win xp). But if the same image is sent to any other PC (from the ma user) it opens OK.The added twist. If another pc user opens (which it does with no issues) then closes and sends back to the failing pc it opens with no issues!
I'm trying to send off images to a friend and I don't want them to be resized...but Mail keeps shrinking them. I've been through the Preferences panel and poked through the Help files, but haven't found anything on this. I finally resorted to going online and sending the photos using my email provider...which was annoying, but it worked. Next time round...can anyone tell me how to fix this? I can't recall what it says in my sig...but I'm running Leopard.

How do I delete genius mixes automatically created by iTunes on my iPad 2? I have never enabled Genius and do not want to use it. The Genius mixes do not appear in the iTunes sidebar; rather, they appear only on my iPad above the playlists I have created myself.

I started cleaning out my MC. So today I found the "All Images" smart folder. I opened it and selected all 9000 contents and deleted, I got worried and stopped the process. I think 3000 images deleted. Then I turned off computer. Are these files necessary? Can I restore them?

I use mozilla firefox and when I click on a pdf or word file and click open instead of save file the iMac automatically saves to the desktop. How can I change this? When I click on open I don't want it to save the file.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI just setup a Seagate external drive to become my offsite backup. I am a new iMac user. I dragged and dropped my most important folders (using Finder) onto the Seagate drive (to copy them over) but probably I did something incorrectly because the Document folder which has all my important files disappeared from under Favorites in Finder and did not show up on the Seagate. I can no longer access what I need as there is no easy way to locate my files which were grouped in a multi level, nicely organized file structure under Documents, to make it easy for me to locate my work. Â
Now, Finder shows under Favorites: All My Files, Airdrop, Applications, Desktop, Downloads, Logins. Previously it also had an entry for Documents, now missing. Using All My Files I can locate the files I worked on yesterday, so they are still on the hard drive.Â
For some reason. All my contacts are getting sent spam with my name as the sender. But I am not sending any mail out. So somehow spam is being sent to my contacts threw my email.

How do I resize images on a mac? I've had my MacBook for 4 months know I never knew how to do this. On Windows in paint all you do is paste the picture and then resize it by dragging the corners, is there a way to do this on macs? I can't seem to find a way to do this in preview. And in Seashore I don't know how to do this unless I manually put in the scale size I want. I simply want to drag the corner of the picture to make it the size I want, how can I do this?

Anyone have some suggestions on a decent, small, cheap/free app for adding text to images? Photoshop is overkill, GC is so-so with text, Preview is nice, but defaults to fonts/colors I don't want.
I suppose I'm looking for something very task-specific. It should deal with helping to make the text legible if the underlying image is too bright or dark where the text lies, some nice shadowing, good antialiasing, etc. In short, if I want to make something like a screenshot of a browser window or something and circle things, add descriptive text, it should do that well enough for publication.
I recently purchased an iMac so I can do image capturing. I had previously been using a PC and moved to the Mac. The software I have been using has a Mac and PC version. When I do my projects, it saves a temporary image file to the User's Temp directory as a jpeg on the PC. I have attempted to contact the software developers to ask them where on the Mac it stores this file and they have not gotten back to me. I am curiously if anyone can point me in the direction of where to find this temporary image file. I realize that Mac's stored images as .png not jpeg but I am getting no response from the company's devolper and I use this file for my projects.

An "event" was created when I downloaded the images from the camera but there are other images I want to add. When I drag and drop the images I want to add to the event ( from a folder on my desktop where I put them) it creates a new event, it does not add the images to the event I want them in. So I created a event with the new images I want to add and merged the two events but the new photos do not show in the bar across the top where the images are for me to add to the book.
What am I doing wrong, how do I add images to a event?

I looked on the pference and the display images is checked. So I don't know why it is hapenning. It sometimes says undefined.

I have seen one method which invloves opening a PDF then dragging images to the sidebar and saving it however the PDF file size is huge.
Is there a way here on the mac to just select one image file, have it blow up to full screen, and the just use the arrow keys to scroll through them like you can on windows? it is just a pain to have to select all of them, open it in preview, and them move around them that way.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to friend out with playing DVD images (.cdr, .dmg, etc) on his Mac using a video player (he currently uses VLC). So far he has just been opening the image and playing the .VOB files, which can be frustrating because you don't have access to menus, have to open each .VOB file manually, etc. He also does training on his Mac so it kind of looks unprofessional. Being a Windows person , I am accustomed to using DVD Shrink to create an ISO, MagicDisc or Daemon Tools to mount the ISO file as a drive letter in Windows, and then using Media Player, etc. to play the DVD as if it was on a disc.
