MacBook Pro :: Won't Start - Blank White Screen With No Apple Logo?
I pressed the power button and nothing. Pressed it for about 10 seconds and nothing, except that the sleep light went on for a few seconds, then started blinking rapidly and then went off. Tried pressing the power button again for different amounts of time, and finally got it the screen to turn on, but it stays white (no Apple logo, just white). I've been searching for different solutions on the net but nothing works Seems unbelievable but I bought it from Amazon exactly 1 year ago from yesterday and all the authorized service centers have been closed for the weekend. I really hope they honor the warranty because this seems like it's going to be expensive.

Software :: Unable To Start System / Gray Screen Fades Into White And Apple Logo Never Appears
I have had my MacBook for almost two years and the battery had just died on me. So I sent it back to Apple and got a new one. But ever since switching over to this new battery, my computer has had issues starting up. A grey screen fades into white and the Apple logo never appears. The computer will just stay like that for hours. A friend suggested turning the power off and back on, holding apple+ctrl+P+R, which worked. However, the next time I turned my computer on, the screen stayed white again, without an Apple logo. Can you tell me what the deal is? Should I bother reporting this to Apple? Is this permanent damage I'm going to have to go thru everytime I start me laptop? Any way to fix it? Thanks.

Power Mac G5 :: Won't Go Pass Grey Screen W/ Apple Logo
I have a 2 GHZ DP PCI-X 512MB 400 160GB SDR9600 G5 Tower that I bought off a friend. In the middle of cropping an image with photoshop the computer completely froze. I would keep getting a message about not enough "scratch disk space." I waited a few minutes and had to hold down the power button and force shutdown the computer. When I restarted, it went to grey screen with Apple logo and won't go any further. After a while the fans will whine. The thing is we don't have the original disks for it. We were able to run disk utility off of another OS-X 10.5.6 CD and one of the HDs came up fine with no issues at all and the other one repaired a couple of things and finally came up with no issues. We did this multiple times with no issues found on them. But it still won't go pass grey screen when we boot it up. I tried powering down and pushing the SMU button and resetting PRAM/NVRAM, and still nothing, stuck at that screen. Is there anything else that I can do without the original disk? I have a lot of work on that computer and hope it is not all lost.

MacBook Pro :: Flickering Screen And Freezes - Won't Boot Pass Apple Logo
My macbook is driving me insane now. Just recently, my macbook has occasionally flickering screen and freezes after that. Yesterday, when I was watching youtube on fullscreen, it first has flickering screen, then freezes. So I hard booted it pressing the power button. Then, when I try to restart it, it won't boot pass the apple logo no matter what. Here's my macbook spec2007 Summer Macbook Pro 15"Snow Leopard 10.6 OS XI cracked my screen once, and got a replacement, don't know if that matters.

I've tried the following:Safe mood reboot, the progress bar goes about half, then disappears and stalls again.Booted in verbose mode but it gives a warning message: 'com.apple.driver. internal modem support declares no kernel dependencies; using com.apple.kernal.6.0'. Booted in Single user mood, and typed fsck for disk repair. After checking said the volume Macintosh HD appears to be ok. But still won't boot pass the apple logo after restart.Boot with installation disk pressing C at startup.

Success after a few try: Opened Disk Utility and did disk repair (no problem found). Reinstalled Snow Leopard OS X 10.6. This time it booted with Finder and everything for a short while, then the screen flicker and freezes again (before I can backup anything!). Then, I can't reboot pass the apple logo again. When I try to reinstall Leopard OS X 10.5 with installation disk, the macbook seems to try to read the disk, but won't boot. I've got a CD stuck in the optical drive now.

PowerPC :: G4 Showing White Screen And Apple Logo
I have a Powerbook G4 with me and it doesn't boot up. I am suspecting it is hard disk/ software error that is stopping it from booting up. Here is what I see when I try to power it up: White screen, Apple logo with the round circle with rainbow color. Do you guys think that is is a software error that is stopping it from booting up? The last thing I did was to install Windows Messenger for Mac! I am thinking of trying to do a re-install using the disc that comes with my Powerbook purchase but I am at a lost of what to do. Can anyone please share with me the steps that I need to take? I've got a 'new' hard disk already, please advise on how can I rebuild my Powerbook!

Snow Leopard :: Macbook Not Loading Past White Screen With Logo And Spinnning Wheel?
Basically i have a macbook 10.6.4 Snow Lepoard that is making me want to literally bash its brains out but, unfortunatly i cant because it is owened by the school...As mentioned in previous posts, my school It dept are incredibly slow and their idea of fixing something is to wipe everthing and reinstall all the programs once again. if that dosent work their other way of fixing something is to send it off to apple. for obveous reasons i want to avoid that. it ONLY started today, (last night i was happily doing last minuite homework) when its was lagging so much that i did the inevitable, i quit tetris and restarted my computer...This led to me sitting infront of a white screen and a spinning wheel for the whole lesson. The next lesson i got fed up with waiting and restarted. nothing. I have also notied that my macbook seems to heat up REALLY FAST toward the bottom of the screen (where is says macbook).

PowerPC :: White Screen With The Apple Logo And Spinning Circle / Large Fan Not Working
I just acquired a G4 MDD Power Mac. Dual 1 Ghz processors.I pulled the HD out of my older g4, connected it, and powered the machine up. The HD has OSX 10.5 and works fine in the older G4.

The first thing I notice is that the Small fan (in the door) is spinning, but the Large fan under the Power Supply is NOT. The red light on the Motherboard is on.

What happens is that all I get is a white screen, with the Apple Logo, and the spinning circle. it never acceses the hard drive and boots into 10.5 What does this point to? I hope the Dual processors are not the problem here. But that large fan not spinning worries me.

IMac PPC :: G4 PPC Black Screen On Startup?
I have been limping along for quite some time with a recurring problem with my PPC Flat Panel iMac G4.Sometimes when starting up I would get a black screen. The unit chimes at startup but the screen would stay black.I found that I was able to fix (temporary) the problem by removing the bottom plate and pushing the reset button under the base.(After shutting down and unplugging the unit.) after the startup chime, the screen turned gray with a folder icon in the center with a blinking question mark. After shutting down and restarting, this happened again 3 times. On the 4th shutdown/startup it went back to the black screen.Repeated shutdown/restarts have no effect.Shutting down, unplugging the unit and pushing the reset button is also having no effect.I hear the startup chime every time. Black screen every time as well now.

MacBook Pro :: Couldn't Get Pass The Apple Logo?
I was working on a project in xcode that an error poped saying it can't save the file, after that mac os just hanged, so I restarted it, but it couldn't get pass the apple logo, so I booted the recovery partition and tried the disk utility and it said there was a problem with the startup partition, so I tried the repair volume, but it didn't work, saying there was a write problem, so I tried to reformat it and then restore it to time machine backup, but it didn't work, so I removed the hard from my laptop and used a sata to usb enclosure and insert it to another mac and I formated the hard and reinstalled mac on it. when the hard is connected to usb I can boot from it and use it, but when I put it in the macbook it just can't boot from it. I figure there's a write problem with the serial-ATA.
