Intel Mac :: SuperDrive Fails When Burning Dvd's
May 18, 2012This has been happening consistently when I try to burn DVD's, during this time the drive stalls and I am not able to eject. (Possibly because software is trying to write with faulty hardware maybe?) The error message changes if I try to burn DL DVD 's. Also CD's often fail while burning some do complete. Errors also occur with Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere CS5 and DVD Studio Pro. Â

Mac Mini :: Burning Music CD Fails?
Jun 21, 2012I tried variety of CD-R's (Verbatim, Memolex, Maxell, Office Deipot brand, etc) . Sometimes Memolex works with very low speed (2X), but most of times fails with other brands.
What I saw is that iTunes prepared songs successfully but after start burning progress bar didn't move at all (for tens of minutes) and looked waiting for response from CD-R devices.Â
I tried with 2 machines below.
1. Mac mini (Intel Core 2 Duo 2GHz, 1GB memory) with PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-K06RS: (replaced from factory part), OS 10.5.8
2. Macbook (Intel Core 2 Duo 2GHz, 2GB memory) with HL-DT-ST DVDRW GS21N (LG?) (Apple shipping device), OS10.5.8Â
iTunes version is 10.6.3.Â

PowerPC :: Crashes When Burning A CD?

I need a quick solution: Need to burn music for my upcoming wedding.
CD/DVD burner works outside of Itunes.
When trying to burn a CD in Itunes it crashes and asks if you would like to restart it.
Not the factory CD: But as stated above does work outside of Itunes.
Music is not locked either
Any Ideas anyone.
P.S Please note I have been told? This could be an issue with Itunes 9.2.1 not liking O/S 10.4.1 can anyone confirm.
Also I am thinking about getting a power G5 Desktop would I have this problem running O/S 10.4 and Itunes 9.2.1
IMac (Intel) :: Restoring Fails Repeatedly - OS X Mavericks 10.9.3
Jul 1, 2014Every time my iMac restarts or boots up, it brings me to the OS X installer page since last night.
I have done the disk utility check and my hard drive is ok. I then tried restoring from network which stops half way and reboot. I have also tried restoring from Time Machine but it has also stopped and rebooted several times.
My iMac is currently running OS 10.9.3
21.5-inch iMac With the following configuration:
2.5GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5
4GB 1333MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2x2GB
500GB Serial ATA Drive

Aug 30, 2014I am trying to burn movies from iPhoto to a dvd for backup. I have attempted to do the export to another file method, then burn to DVD, but whenever I try the export, I get a list of 20 video files that were not exported. This is the only method I have been able to find that is supposed to work for getting movies out of iphoto and onto a disc.Â

Jan 24, 2008Thats basically the problem in a nut shell. I can't seem to burn a DVD+R DL, everytime I attempt to do this the system crashes completely and I get the transparent window telling me to restart the system. To me, this feels a lot like the blue screen of death.
Anyone else having a similar problem? Have there been similar problems reported? Its definitely not the discs either, I've tried using Philips and Memorex DVD+R DLs and neither work, however, burning this stuff on Tiger was fine, however I'm not sure if Leopard is to blame because i dont remember if I had burned any DVD+R DLs successfully using Leopard.
I've got a first gen. Mac Pro with a PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-111D.

Apr 9, 2008all of a sudden a little while ago (after some apple update, don't remember which tbo) i cannot burn any media, well, 98% of the time.. It starts up and then instnaly goes to finishing burn, and spits it out with a "fail burn because of a medium write error". This happens with 2 brans of media i have, both of which worked flawlessly before, and popcorn, toast as well as trying disc utility. i need to burn dvds for work and so on, but can no longer.

Sometimes it just freezes, and I can only move my cursor, but nothing reacts anymore. Sometimes the screen blacks (or sometimes blanks) out or shows the weird moving colours as shown on the photo I just took below: After restart, it often happens again and again. Apr 23, 2006Everytime I open an AVI in Quicktime it crashes. If I try to open an AVI through iPhoto it tries to open Quicktime and then Quicktime crashes but iPhoto doesn't. When I try to import these AVI's into iMovie it crashes again, this time taking iMovie down with it.
I have the following codec installed in Quicktime:
AC3
Xvid
DivX 6 (latest for Intel)
3ivx
Now here is the really weird part. I used to have a PPC Powerbook up until last week and the AVI files I am now trying to play in Quicktime worked fine even without any plugins so this is really weaird. Even still, if I came across a file that Quicktime couldn't play it never bombed out on me, it just produced a green or black screen with just some sound. The AVI plays fine in VLC but I need to edit them in iMovie.

Aug 26, 2014I'm running a late 2009 iMac, 2.8 GHz Intel Core i7 with 8 GB memory with 27 inch ATI Radeon HD 4850 512 graphics card running 10.9.4 OSX.
I will get spontaneous crash of the system that causes small blue squares over the entire screen. The problem will resolve after 1-2 restarts. I ran the system diagnostic disk and found no problems on the long and short versions. It is an intermittent problem as the display and system are running fine now but daily will have the crash occur. Once the spots are present the computer will be frozen with no response to keys or mouse.Â

Is there any way I can set up my home wireless network so that the express handles all of the B/G traffic and the base stations handles all of the N traffic (thus not slowing down my N stuff with the G stuff). It all worked fine for a while but now if I want to listen to the video it will not automatically play when I just play the entire library or when i just play a playlist with it in the homemade video does not play as part of the list, video's from itunes do but simply not this one.Â

Mar 18, 2012Whenever I click on the Apple logo and Software Update, the progress bar gets to about 20% in 3 or 4 seconds and then never moves again. I've left it for over an hour, no change. If I go to Boot Camp Assistant and try to Download the latest Windows support software from Apple, it gets to about 5% in 3 or 4 seconds and then never moves again. I can download from the web and other internet based services work. I am running Lion 10.7.3 on a 2011 iMac. I've tried creating a new user. I've also tried starting in Safe Mode. I have reinstalled Lion. No change.Â
