IMac (Intel) :: Why Isn't Canon Scanner Working On OS X Mavericks
Jun 6, 2014
I have just upgraded to OS mavericks. My Canon MP550 printer, scanner worked fine on the old Mac. However, with the new Mac the printer works but the scanner doesn't. What should I do to make it work?
This is not a Canon problem as other computers (PCs) detect the scanner and work fine. This was originally the easiest multi-function printer/scanner setup I ever did.The scanning is easy and worked fine for a couple of months, then several days ago it gave "scanner not available" message, tried deleting the scanner and then adding, now it will not detect the scanner ONLY the printer
After upgrading to Maverick on my 2.93 GHz Intel core 2 duo processor with 4 GB memory and a 10.9.4 version for my OS X my canon MG5220 all in one printer scanner shows as MP Navigator EX quits unexpectedly.
I just purchased a Canon MG5220. I have installed all of the updated drivers for 10.7.3. The scanner is working wirelessly, but I can't add my printer.
I have a Canon MP600 scanner/copier/printer. It's connected to my MacBook which I purchased in Sept 2007. I have 10.5.2 on my computer. Computer's HD failed after 4 months, then flex cable (BUS cable?) had to be replaced about a week ago. Scanner worked fine before 10.5.2 and the hard driver failing.
Scanner scans the document, but a screen pops up on the computer that says "Unable to save file. The system cannot find the path specified."
how to get the scanner on a Canon MP800 scanner/printer to scan with Lion software. I've installed the Canon Version 3.0.4 driver but it still doesn't work.
Info: iMac (24-inch Early 2008), Mac OS X (10.7.4)
I have a Canon MP460 connected to my iMAC however I am unable to scan. I can print perfectly and would like the scan capability to work. How do I get the scan to work?
I am unable to install a software driver for a Canon film scanner FS4000US. I have downloaded it from Canon then open the package click the install and it asks for a location namely the Applications folder. Then it says it has been installed re -start etc, but still no driver.I am using Mac OS 10.6. Any suggestions greatly received. I have repaired/disk and permissions and it still does not work.
after updating to Maverick osx 10.9.3 my hp photosmart scanner is not recognized with IMAC image capture. I have done all software upgrades and deleted the printer and reinstalled the printer which is on my wireless network.
I can print wireless but I can not scan wireless. Why? I am connected by wire from the canon 490 direct to my airport so why is it the scanner will not work? Can anyone explain ?
My iMac and Canon scanner "aren't friendly" with each other. Only the very first time I succeeded to obtain my scanned doc saved as pdf. Later on the scanner simply started quitting after having scanned the doc.
I'm trying to get my Canon SmartBase MP390 to work with my Mac, and I need to be pointed in the right direction, assuming there is a right direction. Aren't there any open-source Linux drivers or something that I can use?
I have my Canon GL2 connected to my I-Mac OSX version10.7.3 with a Belkin 800/400 9-pin to 4-pin firewire cable and the computer is not acknowledging the camera or firewire cable. Trying to get footage into Final Cut Pro 10 off mini dv tape.
this canon 4400f is a fine scanner but does not have an on off button.it powers up with computer start up, but eventually powers down.how do i set preferences, etc. so it only powers up when directed?i have searched manual but found nothing.
I just bought me a brand new Canon DR-2020U, but to my dismay, I noticed that it doesn't have OS X drivers, and OS X doesn't even flinch when I connect the scanner to it.
I googled for drivers, but the official site does not say anything about those drivers. I have, of course, the Windows drivers and I can operate it through Parallels, but I feel a little stupid for paying $700 for a scanner which does not have necessary drivers to operato on my OS X.
I have downloaded Canon driver 10.51.2.0. I tried Navigator Ex 3.1 . All Apple updates have been run. I tried removing printer and bonjour scanner and reinstalling. All ng. I cannot launch from " Solutions Menu ". Printer does print. If I try and scan from image capture it scans very very slow and is not accurate. I tried connecting with a usb cable and not using the wifi. Still ng.

On my iMac with 10.10.1 I updated all of the scanner and printer software drivers. Now I can scan a document or photo and produce a file that cannot be opened because "It may be damaged or use a file format that Preview doesn’t recognize.". Or "It may be damaged or use a file format that Preview doesn’t recognize." I am using a Canon MX 920 printer/scanner. The scanner works ok with MS 8.1 on my wife's HP.
i just purchased an iMac 2.66GHz Intel Core 2Duo (Snow Leopard 10.6.2) and I installed Canon Digital-Photo-Professional 3.7.3 (upgraded from Canon's website).I soon had big problems with the Canon Raw sw: after the start up of the application, every command I try to operate (even a simple click in the menu bar) makes the infamous coloured wheel to appear and I have to wait 10-15 seconds, and sometime more, for the command to be operated.I found on the Canon site this "cryptic" statement about the installation of DPP 3.7.3 on Snow Leopard: "Improvements to Mac OS 10.6 Compatibility Issues have been made, to fixes the following problems that occurred with Mac OS 10.6.
***This does not guarantee the software will work correctly in all Mac OS 10.6 environments.***"So what should this mean? Does it work or not?I also tried to go back installing DPP 3.4.1 but it's the same horrible story.I'd like to hear from people who is experiencing similar problems with the same configuration I have (Snow Leo and DPP).
a new epson v600 scanner will not communicate with my iMac running OS X 10.8 - get the blinking yellow error light. Epson says the scanner is fine. I have updated all Apple software, incl. Epson drivers.
I would like to use a perfectly good Canon Pixma ip4200 printer with OSX Mountain Lion 10.8.5 and Yosemite 10.10.1 on my 2013 model iMac but Canon say they do not do a driver for these more recent versions of OSX later than 10.7. Is there any way to get this to work?
Hp scanner 4000 series not working since downloading Lion. I downloaded the driver, but it does not work. Received instruction to uninstall scanner, but cannnot do that since it is "grayed" out. HP support did not help.
MAC OS 10.9 does not read/connect with my Canon LiDE 50 scanner. I shopped around to buy un updated scanner and couldn't find one that is compatible with 10.9.
I have just updated my Mac Pro to OS X 10.9.3, then my Epson Scan driver cannot work anymore... (Though the printer works...)
My Epson belongs to the "Epson Stylus SX 430" series, according to here:OS X: Printer and scanner software available for download this all-in-one machine should be compatible with OS X 10.9.3, but I can not find the proper driver software... I have downloaded some new softwares from official web. of Epson, but it did not work... It seems that Epson did not have a effective software for OS X 10.9.3....
