Hardware :: How Do I Stop Canon 4400f Scanner Power Up At Start Up
Aug 10, 2009
this canon 4400f is a fine scanner but does not have an on off button.it powers up with computer start up, but eventually powers down.how do i set preferences, etc. so it only powers up when directed?i have searched manual but found nothing.
how to get the scanner on a Canon MP800 scanner/printer to scan with Lion software. I've installed the Canon Version 3.0.4 driver but it still doesn't work.
Info: iMac (24-inch Early 2008), Mac OS X (10.7.4)
I can print wireless but I can not scan wireless. Why? I am connected by wire from the canon 490 direct to my airport so why is it the scanner will not work? Can anyone explain ?
My iMac and Canon scanner "aren't friendly" with each other. Only the very first time I succeeded to obtain my scanned doc saved as pdf. Later on the scanner simply started quitting after having scanned the doc.
I'm trying to get my Canon SmartBase MP390 to work with my Mac, and I need to be pointed in the right direction, assuming there is a right direction. Aren't there any open-source Linux drivers or something that I can use?
I have a Canon MP460 connected to my iMAC however I am unable to scan. I can print perfectly and would like the scan capability to work. How do I get the scan to work?
After upgrading to Maverick on my 2.93 GHz Intel core 2 duo processor with 4 GB memory and a 10.9.4 version for my OS X my canon MG5220 all in one printer scanner shows as MP Navigator EX quits unexpectedly.
I have just upgraded to OS mavericks. My Canon MP550 printer, scanner worked fine on the old Mac. However, with the new Mac the printer works but the scanner doesn't. What should I do to make it work?
I just bought me a brand new Canon DR-2020U, but to my dismay, I noticed that it doesn't have OS X drivers, and OS X doesn't even flinch when I connect the scanner to it.
I googled for drivers, but the official site does not say anything about those drivers. I have, of course, the Windows drivers and I can operate it through Parallels, but I feel a little stupid for paying $700 for a scanner which does not have necessary drivers to operato on my OS X.
I just purchased a Canon MG5220. I have installed all of the updated drivers for 10.7.3. The scanner is working wirelessly, but I can't add my printer.
I have downloaded Canon driver 10.51.2.0. I tried Navigator Ex 3.1 . All Apple updates have been run. I tried removing printer and bonjour scanner and reinstalling. All ng. I cannot launch from " Solutions Menu ". Printer does print. If I try and scan from image capture it scans very very slow and is not accurate. I tried connecting with a usb cable and not using the wifi. Still ng.

I have a Canon MP600 scanner/copier/printer. It's connected to my MacBook which I purchased in Sept 2007. I have 10.5.2 on my computer. Computer's HD failed after 4 months, then flex cable (BUS cable?) had to be replaced about a week ago. Scanner worked fine before 10.5.2 and the hard driver failing.
Scanner scans the document, but a screen pops up on the computer that says "Unable to save file. The system cannot find the path specified."
I am unable to install a software driver for a Canon film scanner FS4000US. I have downloaded it from Canon then open the package click the install and it asks for a location namely the Applications folder. Then it says it has been installed re -start etc, but still no driver.I am using Mac OS 10.6. Any suggestions greatly received. I have repaired/disk and permissions and it still does not work.
This is not a Canon problem as other computers (PCs) detect the scanner and work fine. This was originally the easiest multi-function printer/scanner setup I ever did.The scanning is easy and worked fine for a couple of months, then several days ago it gave "scanner not available" message, tried deleting the scanner and then adding, now it will not detect the scanner ONLY the printer
First, the machine died - like I dont get a start up disk registering or hear the HD accessing. No apple logo or question mark... Sometimes I just get a black screen and a single tone. I think the hard drive was ok, since it wont even engage nor will a start-up disc - ie. there is something earlier in path thats not working. I dropped the machine a few days ago and I think I broke the fan as it gets really hot. A day or so later it died, making me thing that something in the hardware was fried. So - I am hoping that I can take the harddrive out and just import all of my email, etc. during installation on the new MBP. I haven't checked that the HD is functional, but the computer has been on its last leg for a while (I was actually holding out for the next generation of MBP in spet? or so, but no dice...) and I assume it's too expensive to fix. I assume I would just have to buy an external chassis. Any opnions on what I need to do for this?
Second, I have an old minolta film scanner that I want to be able to use. Supposedly, it only works on tiger (the prior operating system?). Thus I was told if I partition the harddrive of the new computer I can also install tiger and have some space to burning large size scans from 35mm and medium format. Anybody have an idea of how to do this and how much space is recommened? I would just use the scans in the Leopard part of the computer. And do I have any problems if I later upgrade to the next system (ie. can you just do this in the larger, current partitioned area, rather than the small partition establisehd for scanning?).
My computer specs are: G5 PowerPC, 2.0Ghz Dual core processor, 8 GB RAM, 256 MB Ati Radeon 9800 pro graphics card and Final Cut pro 6.0.6.
Now my friend is thinking of buying a Canon 60d and my computer is the one we always edit on. Will it be able to edit the footage if I converted it to Apple Prores (LP, HQ or standard)?
Info: PowerMac, Mac OS X (10.5.8), G5 Dual 2 GHz, 8 GB Ram, 1.65 TB HD
I have an iMac (Intel) computer and a Canon iP67000D inkjet printer. Is it possible to create a keyboard shortcut that will allow me to power on or off the printer via the keyboard?
I have a HP Photosmart B110 printer/scanner and I'm running OSX 10.7 Lion, I have no dramas printing but the scanner is not recognised. If I go to System preferences> Print & Scan, it shows the printer but won't show the scanner!! I obviously want and need to use the scanner but am unable!
Since installing Leopard the Finder window pops up automatically after staring my Mac. This didn't happen any time before (from System 1 to 10.4.10!). I hate it but I don't know where to change that setting.
I have this program installed called KeyAccess (or KeyServer). It is used by my college to allow me access to the licenses to a slew of software provided by the school. However, it loads at startup, and I have no idea how to prevent it from doing so. There's no option to configure it not to, I have tried looking for an entry in StartupItems and Login Items of my Accounts preferences. It is located in the Preferences Pane, its not really a standalone program.
Chrome has suddenly begun to start-up when I power on my Macbook without any action on my part. Currently running Mac OS X Lion 10.7.3. How do get this to stop?
You know the start up page that appears when you press the power button, the blue ish white one with the apple logo on the middle and a circular loading thing? Well mine won't stop loading. I left it on all night and it still hasn't finished loading. Its the circular one that just goes around and around.
I am getting a little frustrated. Everytime I start my computer Word, Excel and other programs open. I have tried the following which hasn't helped.
1. I went into system preferences into User/Groups, logins and deleted all items.
2. Hovered over the word in the menu bar at the bottom of the screen, clicked options, unchecked open at login. (I have been closing down the application before loging off)
Other than that I am not sure how to stop these from opening.
Came home from work and the computer was off. I tried to restart but no joy. Power was good and battery check show it full. After pushing the start button it would try to to start for 3-5 seconds and then stop completely.

The hanging appears to have been caused when I accidently moved about 40GB of old photo's onto my desktop. Almost immediately I tried to cancel but all that happened is that the system has hung. Processer can be heard working in the background. Being new to MAC I am pretty stumped. Have tried the obvious forced restart using the power on/off button but no luck. Is there a way I can get in and stop this process say at start up?
