OS X :: Getting Unsupported Canon SmartBase Scanner To Work With Mac

Feb 13, 2010

I'm trying to get my Canon SmartBase MP390 to work with my Mac, and I need to be pointed in the right direction, assuming there is a right direction. Aren't there any open-source Linux drivers or something that I can use?

Hardware :: Finding Canon DR-2020U Document Scanner OS X Drivers?

Feb 11, 2010

I just bought me a brand new Canon DR-2020U, but to my dismay, I noticed that it doesn't have OS X drivers, and OS X doesn't even flinch when I connect the scanner to it.

I googled for drivers, but the official site does not say anything about those drivers. I have, of course, the Windows drivers and I can operate it through Parallels, but I feel a little stupid for paying $700 for a scanner which does not have necessary drivers to operato on my OS X.

Hardware :: Canon MP600 Scanner Not Working - Unable To Save File

Mar 30, 2008

I have a Canon MP600 scanner/copier/printer. It's connected to my MacBook which I purchased in Sept 2007. I have 10.5.2 on my computer. Computer's HD failed after 4 months, then flex cable (BUS cable?) had to be replaced about a week ago. Scanner worked fine before 10.5.2 and the hard driver failing.

Scanner scans the document, but a screen pops up on the computer that says "Unable to save file. The system cannot find the path specified."

The HP download site says that the scanner function of the 4215 is not supported under 10.5. Does anyone have suggeestions on how I can get the scanner to work? Desktops :: Printer And Scanner Don't Work After OS X Upgrade?

Apr 27, 2010

A few days ago I finally upgraded my iMac G4 (Flatpanel) from 10.4.9 to 10.4.11. I had not printed or scanned anything since then, but today I needed to do both, and they don't work. I think it has something to do with the upgrade because they were working just fine before that.

The printer is an Epson Stylus 777i

The Scanner is an Epson Perfection 640U

What could have changed, and how can I get my Mac and peripherals to work together again?

On the Epson support page, it lists the newest driver from 1999 and says that it will work on Macintosh system 7.5 to 8.6. (here is a link http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/s...s&platform=All). Any chance of this working on Tiger? I don't see myself buying a new scanner because I use it just a few times per year.

Image Capture doesn't even recognize there is a scanner available. I have downloaded the most recent driver from HP, (2007), but it still does not work. Will I have to wait for HP to build a new driver specifically for Leopard?

OS X :: After Working Fine, Suddenly, The Scanner Doesn't Want To Work?

Dec 6, 2009

I'm using the printer that came with my Mac when I bought it, last year. (Photosmart C4385 All-In-One)

After working fine, suddenly, the scanner doesn't want to work. Another computer in the house, a HP Desktop seems to work fine, but as far as my far superior Mac, I get a scan error message. this happens in both wireless and connected. The printer is working fine in both wireless and connected methods.

Worse, HP is no longer allowing for on-line support via chat for Mac users! Then when trying to call them, they say that their call centers are not available. It almost seems as if HP doesn't want to hassle with Mac related problems.

Are any of you having similar issues?

Windows On Mac :: BootCamp X64 Unsupported On First Gen Mac Pro?

Aug 28, 2009

So I got my copy of Snow Leopard today and installed it fine on my 1st-Gen Mac Pro, then rebooted into Vista x64 to load the Bootcamp 3.0 drivers. I immediately get an Installation Error that says "BootCamp x64 is unsupported on this computer model." So I go to the Apple support web site, which has a document dated 6/9/09 referring to MacOS 10.5 (not Snow Leopard 10.6) and that only Mac Pros from 2008 or later are supported with x64 Vista. That is ridiculous since I've been running x64 Vista on my 2006 Mac Pro ever since BootCamp 2.0 came out. I tried running running the "BootCamp64" installer package, but immediately get an error that says "This installation requires elevated privileges. Launch the the installer through setup.exe." Any ideas on getting Bootcamp 3.0 x64 running on my 1st-Gen Mac Pro?
