View 1 Replies View RelatedSo, I wanted to get a version of photoshop for my mac, so I googled in and I found out that at the end of March, Adobe is releasing Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 for the Mac. Does anybody have anything to say about this? Is it a good editor that does all the main functions of CS2 and CS3?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI am having a problem with Photoshop Elements 8. The software will not open on my iMac for it says that I am missing applications or something around that ballpark. Once I come home from my gf's house I will be able to give you guys/girls the exact message I get when trying to open PSE8. I do not know if the PSE8 is compatible with my current iMac due to its model/year/specs etc. I purchased my iMac around the year of late 2006 early 2007. Should PSE8 be compatible with my iMac or not?
I believe it should, but yet I do not know the reason why it will not open. I recently purchased the Bamboo Pen & Touch for my gf and it came with the PSE8 software. I Installed the PSE8 on her iMac (Which she purchased the Black Friday that passed.) But before installing the PSE8 on the iMac, the Bamboo installer was installed first. Maybe I need to install the Bamboo installer before installing the PSE8 software that was included with the Tablet product?
I would like to uninstall Photoshop Elements 3 as I have CS2 now. I checked Adobe web site; but their site does not say if I can just drag the folder icon for Photoshop Elements to the trash can or not. Do I need to go through the proper uninstallation step for this? Or, can I just drag it to the trash can?
View 3 Replies View RelatedIs anyone running PhotoShop Elements 4.0 on Leopard? I installed Leopard last week only to discover that PhotoShop Elements 2.0 won't even launch anymore. Adobe says Elements 4.0 isn't designed for Leopard. But, I'm now desperate for photo editing software. I've got about 5 years of learning invested in PhotoShop Elements. So, I'd prefer not to have to learn a new package.
I'm going to try out Acorn to see if I can get it to work. I downloaded Pixelmator. It looks sharp! But, the brother who designed it seem to have gone missing and their forums report many and major bugs when running it on Leopard (even though it was supposedly designed for Leopard). I just need basic functionality to save pictures for my website. Just a lasso tool to drop out the backgrounds, change the contrast and brightness and to be able to save to .gifs and jpegs.
First time using my computer since before Christmas and have just discovered that Photoshop Elements 3 won't open. It starts to open but then quits.
I've tried re-installing the programme from the original disk, and just get the same result.

Anyone running this successfully on the MBA? I tried it yesterday and it got stuck, I think it is too big for the MBA.
View 2 Replies View RelatedHow to deactivate Photoshop Elements 6 for Mac? I want to uninstall PSE 6 but the uninstaller tells me to deactivate PSE 6 first. However, there seems to be no option for deactivation in the applications installed with PSE 6 (i.e. PSE 6 for Mac itself, Bridge CS3, Stock Photos CS3, Adobe Help Viewer 1.1). I have tried to search the web and Adobe's knowledge base... with no luck. Search in PSE 6's internal Help returns one result for 'deactivate' - but it's something about editing pictures. There's no 'Deactivate...' under Help menu.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just bought a new iMAC 24" and was about to buy Photoshop Elements 6 from Amazon. Then I read some disturbing reviews about this latest version not working very well, if at all on Macs. Some recommended going with Elements 4, but finding a new version of "4" is impossible.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI downloaded photoshop elements free trial from the internet on my mac and when i try to open it says this:
"system requirements error this software cannot be installed because the file system of the OS volume is not supported. The OS volume should be local, writable and should have a non case-sensitive file system."
Everything seems ok until I wanted to animate a picture. I guess this version doesn't come with ImageReady because I don't have it. But I have found a way around that. The problem is when I say "Save for Web" and it comes up with all the options. I keep it transparent and click the animation box. The animation options are now available for use. But I can't change the delay per frame or whether I want it to loop or not. When I click on these options nothing happens.

View 3 Replies View RelatedGot a new macbook, installed PSE6. Used migration assistant to put all my other stuff on it. Open up PSE6 and it tells me Custom Shapes not found. I'm missing a palette on the right too, it has the backgrounds and images etc. I have the layers and effects pallette but not the other one. When I go into PSE application, look in the Presets and look into my Custom Shapes folder, all my .csh files are SHELLS? What the heck? I tried to reinstall PSE 6 but this didn't work!

I have OSX Lion 10.7. Before spending $80 on Photoshop Elements 10 Editor from the Apple App Store, I have a couple of questions. Can I download photos from my camera directly to Photoshop Elements, or must thry go to iPhoto first? After I process photos using PSE Editor, can I store them in Photoshop Elements, or must they be stored in iPhoto?

I am running Creative Suite CS5 and noticed all plugins will not work, as CS5 works natively in 64 bit. I have tried opening in 32 bit and the beachball of slow goes on indefinitely and will not open in 32? I can still use plugins in CS4 then export product into CS5, but a bit of a long winded route...anyone else?
1. PSE 4.0. I double-click to open, icon keeps bouncing, never opens. What happened?
2. fonts.Tried to download some fonts but got the message that there was no application to open/unzip them.
I have a MacBook OSX with 1GSDRAM.
Currently using 10.5.6 on an emac 1.25, 768 sdram with 150Gb. I have been using PS 2 for ages to improve my photos from a Pentax camera without any problems. All of a sudden, when opening a pic downloaded from the camera, I am getting a message:-
EMBEDDED PROFILE MISMATCH
The document "..............jpg" has an embedded colour profile that does not match the current RGB working space.
Embedded sRGB IEC61966-2.1
Working : Monitor RGB - Apple RGB
1) Use the embedded profile (instead of working space)
2) Convert documents colours to the working space
3) Discard the embedded profile (don't colour manage)
So far I have converted the pics one at a time without difficulty but it adds an extra process to it all. Why am I getting this message and how can I get rid of it?
I'm using an iMac(seen in sig.) and I had installed Photoshop, and while of course a little slow due to Rosetta it worked. Then maybe a week ago, it just seemed to stop opening up and crashing immediately. I'm running OSX 10.4.8, everything is properly updated and I've reinstalled photoshop a few times to no avial. The problem didn't seem to occur after any change, I might have just not noticed it though.
View 19 Replies View RelatedI just upgraded to Snow Leopard and CS5.5 about three weeks ago. All was working fine and then two days ago Photoshop stopped opening files. The Adobe crash report indicated that it's an Apple bug on file save/open, and when I did some research on the internet it indicated that (even from back i 2009) this is known bug.

I keep getting "problem reports" when trying to open applications that have worked fine for years. Microsoft Word, Photopshop, Illustrator an Avery CD Sticker maker all give me the problem report window with the yellow trianlge and exclmation point when I try to open them and say: "____ has quit unexpectedly. Click reopen to open the application again. This report will be sent to Apple automatically." Clicking reopen offers the same thing again, and again, and again. It started yesterday with Photoshop and Illustrator, so I took them off my computer and tried to reinstall them. Now I get "Install Photoshop has quit unexpectedly. etc.." I ran the disc utility and it said my hard drive was OK.

I have images on my desktop, that are also stored in iCloud. When I open them from my desktop, say in Photoshop, that have an annoying iCloud icon in the lower lefthand corner.. Why is this and how do I make it go away?
