I've added the MAC address to my MAC filters changed the IP address, Subnet mask and default gateway along with the Physical address. I've checked and double checked the settings and still can't connect.
View 14 RepliesI have my "block pop-up windows" checked in Safari 7.0.6 and yet I am still getting a lot of unwanted pop-up ads and am getting very frustrated each time I use my computer. If I deselect "Enable JavaScript and Allow plug-ins" as suggested from a May 29, 2014 post, I can't utilize my online banking.

I had my hard drive switched out because the old one was going out. So while I was at work I set it up so I could start getting things together, but there was no internet connection available, so in my confused I accidently clicked "This Computer does not connect to the internet" without thinking. Not I can not get any of my internet apps dont work.I have looked through my settings but cant find anything. It does connect to my wifi, but wont get online.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am connected to the internet via a belkin N+ router..... this is in turn connected to an adsl modem...I am having no problems with the signal to the router but at least four times a day my internet disappears....
When I run Network Diagnostics hey presto, your internet is working fine....The only things I have changed recently was that as I am running osx 10.4.11 I was having that issue where you couldn't access Network in sys pref, it kept saying "your settings have been changed by another application", I found a solution on here whereby you delete the plist prefs and rebuild them... That worked a charm but now I'm wondering is this connected in some way....

I got software from the makers of the belkin N+ wireless usb dongle chip that came with my router (belkin don't provide osx support but said that I could get a utility from the chip makers) I installed this but it never worked so uninstalled it, and ran disk utility and safe boot and pram and fsck (everything I could think of)
I only have one location in network, and airport is the only active network port
any ideas...????

I got a HP Photosmart C4380 all-in-one wi-fi printer and i want to set it up on my wireless network. so i plugged it in to my MBP via USB and ran the HP setup assistant that came with the printer.
at the first step it recognized my printer as being connected via USB the next step when its supposed to detect your wireless network i get this message that says your printer is not connected to the computer, connect via USB to save settings.
My setting on my Imac are messed up and wont allow me to connect to my wireles router. What do i do to get the settings correct?

i recently bought an Airport Express, and i finally took it out of its box after i purchased my new stereo. I connected the audio cable to the stereo and the airport unit and plugged it into an outlet. I opened up airport utility on my mac, AX appeared and i configured it to "join a wireless network". After completing the remaining steps, i updated it.. and waited for it to restart. Now here's my problem. It comes up with an error telling me it couldn't find the device after restarting. I have Verizon FiOS as my provider.. and I know that airport express has a history of trouble with the Actiontec router. Is there anything i can do with my current equipment to get this thing to work? I do not need to extend the network.. only join to use airtunes and print wirelessly... Also, my Actiontec router and FiOS connection are through my crappy dell pc downstairs, while i am using my 24" iMac upstairs in my bedroom trying to connect this. Should i change my router's settings?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI have no administrator accounts on my imac! After upgrading to leopard, everything changed to standard accounts, even my root user. I tried to do what the apple website said, and change passwords and check off the "allow user to administer" box, but when i log out of root user and back into my main account, the box is not checked off. Nor when logged in as the root user will it let me to lock the settings to make sure it goes through.

Using Windows Vista Home Premium. The little wireless icon in the tray just has the big X, so it's literally picking up nothing. I also can't connect via ethernet.
Somewhat new to Mac now. In the Energy Saving settings should I have the 'put hd to sleep' button checked or unchecked? I know with it checked preserves power, but I've read that its bad to do, just wondering if I can get some experts to tell me what I should do.

I have a mac mini, a macbook, iphone and ipad. I upgraded from mobileme to icloud recently. Â
on my mac mini i have 833 contacts, I am syncing with iCloud, but icloud is only showing 750 contacts.Â
I have checked my mac mini for a group that says 'on my mac' and i don't have one, it's not showing in my group list which means that theres no contacts in there.Â
Under the iCloud group on my mac mini, when i click 'All contacts' the missing contacts are in there. (these include my boyfriend and my dad!) yet these contacts are not on icloud.com, my iphone or ipad...Â
I seem to have baffled iCloud support and am still waiting for a resolution
Is there some way they may be in an 'on my mac' account and not showing somehow? but then i dont understand how they'd appear under all contacts in the icloud account.Â
I know there have been lots of questions about no sound on my mac book pro. I have the same issue, I have tried updating all my software, checked the input and out for sound and still no luck.

I have an iPhone 4S. There are some songs that I purchased through iTunes that are not downloading to my phone. The songs are listed in iTunes under both "Music" and "Purchased." The songs are checked. On my iPhone, under SUMMARY, I have checked "sync only checked songs and videos," and under MUSIC I have checked "entire music library."Â
The phone and computer are both authorized to the same iTunes account. The weird thing is that, for most of the missing albums, the first song of the purchased album has downloaded, but the rest are not. Â

View 3 Replies View RelatedDoes anybody know if the WinXP - Boot Camp - Cirrus Audio issue has been resolved? My new MBP has WinXP Home Ed installed. Initial problem was that the volume was very low even with max setting. There was also a 'red light' coming out of the audio jack like a laser pointing device. After some searching in forums, i found a fix wherein i manually changed the Cirrus driver setting (turning off the optics and re-calibrating the volume limit). However, this seems to be a short-term solution only, because there is still a faint crackling sound emanating from my internal speakers whenever i'm running Windows in BC. I'm running SL 10.6.

But when I'm listening to music for my own personal enjoyment, I don't exactly want "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" to come up. Is there a way to keep certain checked songs from playing when in shuffle mode? I mean, besides creating a new playlist with everything BUT the 20 or so songs I have for my daughter.

I'm trying to change my finder settings across all finder windows... I tried the solution posted in the above thread but get this message in terminal. I'm not all that computer savvy when it comes to terminal so not sure what it means.
I noticed that something was running in the background when I . I checked activity monitor to see what was running and saw that a process named "Find" user name "Nobody" was running. It disappeared before I could inspect it. Does anybody know what process this is and what application may be running it? I'm now paranoid!

This is weird, because I have the correct drivers installed and in the system preferences panel, I have the option for duplex printer checked.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI own a 17" g5 imac and today I was just browsing on Firefox and all of a sudden the screen became checkered with thin pink and white lines. It is most noticeable on the menu bar and anything that is grey or white in color. It is not checkered on the blue background behind my desktop photo. I have an external monitor plugged in as well and the same thing is happening to that monitor.

I have two printers connected to my iMac (10.7.3) and I am trying to enable printer sharing for my MacBook Air to utilize the iMac's printers. On the iMac, I go to System Prefrences > Sharing and check Printer Sharing and I ensure that both printers are being shared. Everything is checked, but the second I close the System Prefrences window, the printer sharing stops working. I go back into System Prefrences and the Printer Sharing box is unchecked.
