Aug 16, 2009First it was only my Y key that was getting stuck and now it is my G key as well. I have to hit them a couple times before they register.

MacBook Pro :: 2011 Freezing Multiple Times A Day?
Jul 6, 2012I've had my 13" macbook pro (early 2011) for 10 months now and it's always frozen fairly regulary like once a week, but recently i freezes multiple times a day and says all my alpications are not responding and won't let me force quit so my only option is to restart the computer everytime.It seems like the problem mostly occurs whilst browsing the internet, but i have reinstalled both firefox and chrome and still have the same problem.
Also I'd like to do a hardware check as my year warenty is almost up but pressing and holding 'd' on start up doesn't work - has this changed?

Sep 11, 2014This is my school laptop that I use every year since last year. I had a few problems last year with this laptop but they were enventually fixed. This year my computer was fine until one day I couldn't open my folders on my desktop as easily. I used to just double click very easily and they would open. Now I have to click on each folder 5-6 times before it opens. I restarted my computer about 3 times yesterday and nothing worked.

Apr 16, 2012While using Safari it will quit unexpectedly quite often. This just started happening a couple of days ago, I made sure all updates were done and I am at a stand still as I am not familiar with how to fix these types of issues on a mac. This is a mac os x. Jun 8, 2012My Apple MBP keeps crashing on me multiple times a day. It used to be rare, now it is so frequent, it is easily reproducable. I have tried the Disk Utility and shift+ctrl+option+power btn to reset some unit. but it is not working. Is there a Mac guru that can go through the log and let me know what's wrong? I can't believe Apple makes such crappy products. I fell in love with Apple a couple of years ago and have ended up buying many Apple products, now I have started to hate my MBP I got for almost 3 grand just 2 years ago. May be this is the beginning of the end for Apple, the QA is doing nothing.

OS X Yosemite :: Having To Enter Apple ID And Password Multiple Times Since Upgrade
Dec 10, 2014Since upgrading to Yosemite I am being asked by Apple apps to enter my password much more often than before, to the point that it's annoying. The reason for this usually is not apparent, and happens even though I'm using only my home computers, from which I've signed in many times previously and which should be recognized by Apple, and on which I have elected to stay signed in. Worse, oftentimes when I sign in, the dialog box refreshes, with the PW field empty, giving no indication why my entry was not accepted.
Sometimes I'll have to enter my PW two or three times before it's accepted, all with no alert that the ID was not recognized or the PW was incorrect. It's like the system is trying to call my bluff or having me say it three times before it'll believe me! This happens so regularly that now when iTunes or Mail, for example, asks for my PW, I enter it very slowly and deliberately, so I know I'm not making a typo. Besides, I never experienced this behavior with any prior OS X version.
Is this a new security step—the owner of the Apple ID will continue to enter repeatedly what he knows to be the correct PW even when it's not initially accepted, whereas a hacker will move on to a new guess after a first attempt with the correct PW is rejected?

Now my problem is that I want to control it with the F7, F8, F9 keys which are the rewind, play and forward keys, but when pressing any of them it works both on itunes and cog player. How can I disable the Itunes link to it? I want it to control only Cog player.

I'm not 100% sure so I guess it would be a good time to verify, is there a problem with having the system try to TAR multiple folders at one time? If it is not a problem then I guess this discussion itself is pointless and I can simple right click on each folder and select "TAR Folder" and just wait until they're all finished. I would think that it would be ideal for the system to do each one individually and not try to do them all at one time.
ITunes :: Setup Multiple Users With Multiple Devices?
Mar 12, 2012I'm trying to find the easiest solution to our family music situation. 4 users, 4 devices (ipods, ipad, imac, pc laptops), and 4 different musical song interests. I'm sure there are millions of households that have the same exact situation. I want to be able to pull up only my musical library, not my kid's music, and then easily synch it to my ipod. Everyone in the family wants to do this same thing. I have spent alot of time trying to search the forums/internet and there does not seem to be one "most popular" solution. I did setup iCloud for each family member using a different Apple ID than my main Apple ID, and I'm happy that ALL the music shows up on my ipad. But between iCloud, MobileMe, Home Sharing it all gets very confusing. Some say to setup multiple computer login accounts, and others say to setup 1 playlist for each family member and synch from that playlist.
I would think 1 itunes account allows you to easily share a purchased song with 4 users, instead of buying songs twice.
So here are a few of my questions-
1-Is it best to have only 1 itunes account and then synch all devices off of 1 main computer?
2-Or since we each have iCloud accounts, will they be able to synch their ipods from their own pc laptop?
3-And when they synch, what is the easiest way to exclude other users music in itunes? (other than unchecking hundreds of artists)
4-Or setup 4 separate computer login accounts on the imac and then keep 1 itunes account? If so, how does this work when they open itunes?

We only have one Apple ID and we share our iTunes. What do I need to do to make all devices work together on iTunes with relative ease? Do I need to create multiple Apple IDs? Can we link them together so we don't have to log in and out of iTunes, yet keep it so that what she does with apps / music on her phone doesn't effect what apps / music I move on my phone?

About 3 days ago I noticed that I couldn't burn a dvd using Roxio's Toast 10. I would receive a medium write error.
I tried a second time with the same results.
I then moved to itunes which I have updated to the fullest version and tried to burn a playlist to cd and also received a medium write error.
Finally I tried to burn the original dvd using disk utility and it almost worked up until it hung on finishing. The funny thing about the run with disk utility was that the disk played in my home dvd player with no problems despite quitting the burn prematurely.

Jul 11, 2009I'm new to working on mac, I come from a windows background and I'm having a bit of a problem navigating quickly between multiple windows. Some times you need to open a lot of windows while working, like a couple of firefox windows (with tabs =)), 2 pdf documents, skype, xcode, word documents etc. In Microsoft Windows all your 'windows' are on the task bar and you can click on it to show it or alt tab your way through your windows. In mac if you alt tab it gives you like the root program not the windows and to access the windows you have to choose them from the Windows menu, and I tried expose and its a cool thing =D but still i'm not comfortable navigating with it, so i was wondering if i'm missing sth. Can you tell me what is the way you comfortably handle multiple windows?

So in one "Space" you could have a "work dock" which has all your applications for school or work such as Safari, iWork/MS Office. Then in another "space" you could have a dock for "Play dock" which has iTunes, Safari, iChat, Photo Booth, iLife or any computer games you have on your Mac.

I have 4 x 500MB drives in my Mac Pro and 4 x 500MB external firewire drives.
Currently I use Carbon Copy Cloner to clone each internal drive to it's respective backup. ie Drive 1 > Backup 1, Drive 2 > Backup 2 etc
Is it possible to use Timemachine in a similar way? so that each internal drive has it's own corresponding Timemachine backup?
