The printer prints copies in a very light grey colour. I would like it to give a normal black print. It is the driver. If so where do I get an update for the driver. Or what else can it be.
I am toying with switching my kids laptops to apple from windows. I bought a Macbook it has OSX 10.5.7. I don't want to have to count on my kids to switch every application to print in Greyscale (black and white). Where do I go to set this so that any printing they do from their account is in black and white by default? This is easy to do in Windows. For the life of me I can't figure out how to do it in OSX. This is shaping up to be a dealbreaker, unless I'm just missing something.
I have a HP PSC 1110 to which I print wirelessly, via an Airport Express, from my ibook. I've been useing it successfully for about a month, but today for the first time I tried to print photos from iPhoto and it wouldn't print in colour...in fact it won't print in colour wirelessly no matter which application the print job is sent from. When I attached the printer directly to the ibook via USB and it worked perfectly so I have a staightforward solution, but, it should work in colour wirelessly shouldn't it?
The sleeve I keep my laptop in got wet tonight and now the bottom of my macbook is a weird grey/green/yellow colour. The sleeve is by logiix. I can't find the product online but the inside of the sleeve is micro-fibre-ish kind of material... I took some pictures but the quality is really bad, i took it from my cellphone.... I'm wondering if there's anyway to clean it up or do i have to live with it forever... Why does this happen? Might Apple cover it?
My Dell printer CN 3000 is not printing any colour with my I Mac, I understand I may need to download something to erase this problem. Can somebody point me in the right direction for the appropriate download.
How do I get Mac OSX 10.6.4 to print to a Canon iRC2380 colour printer? Using the driver in the Mac's list doesn't work., How do I get Mac OSX 10.6.4 to print to A Canon iRC2380 colour printer? Using the driver in the Mac's list doesn't work.
New to using Mac's... this is an older desktop but I haven't had any issues with it yet. I went on to use it and the colour was a yellow/orange looking colour and it changes the way pictures and text look on the computer. Is there a way I can troubleshoot this problem or is it something to do with the monitor itself?
My MacBook screen has started to black out. I have to click the brightness button to 0 and then click to 3 bars to see/read the screen. Any higher brightness blacks out the screen within seconds.
I have had my alum Macbook since its release, and have a personal preference issue about the black keys. Since 08 I have loved my slim IMac chicklet keyboard with the white keys, so much so that I purchased an apple bluetooth keyboard to type on for long typing excursions. I had the bluetooth keyboard right up against my Macbook and realized that the layout, size and shape of the keys were identical. I love the white keys simply for the contrast of the black letters on the white chicklets. I also hate how the keys are getting shiny black, just kinda feels cheap. I should try to swap the keys on these units? I would love the white keys on my macbook, but I am not sure if they attach the same. I don't have the backlit keys, so I wouldn't loose anything.
I really dont like the black chiclet keys on the unibody MBP. Although I would really want them in classic grey, I was wondering: Would it be possible to buy a set of WHITE KEYS from the old Macbook 13 inch series, and put them in the new MBP Might sound crazy, but would be cool if it worked
I am running an older Macbook Pro 2008 model with OSX 10.6.8. I am getting a black and white image on my external TV. I am using the official mac DVI to composite adapter.
I also have bootcamp installed and use the same adapter on the Windows XP side and it works fine in full color out to a TV with the same adapter.
I ran a file to export which converts to a quicktime .mov file.I expected these times but what's nice is that the fans on the MB kick in at full blast in 1 minute whereas the MBA full fans at 4 minutes full. Far less fan noise on the MBA! Looking at the temps, the MBA ran a full 11 degrees cooler the entire time. Fan noise is very important as I can now record voice from a usb mic without the fan noise being recorded as was the case with the Macbook.
Only downside is that the MBA takes longer (didn't time it) to cool down. Does anyone else have a longer than usual cool down time for the fans to go from full 6500 rpm to the norm 2500rpm?
I have the 13" White Macbook but wanna change it to the original black case. I wanted to purchase it on eBay. Is that possible or not? I want to get the black one but the white macbook I have already has Adobe CS4/Microsoft Office 2008/Final Cut installed and I dont want to lose those programs because I really need them for graphic design.
My 2008 MacBook Pro (17in) has just started up with a white screen and strange black marks - almost like ink spilled on white paper. I cannot get anything else.
When I start up my macbook pro white and black lines appear for the startup screen in bunches. After that the screen is black but the keyboard is lit up and you can still hear the sounds of turning up the volume and music can still play.
I have a 15'' mbp previous generation with the silver keys. I had my trackpad repaired by apple back in March 2010. Since then, these little black smudges and white spots have been appearing behind the lcd screen. The black smudges actually look like dust that got between the screen. I took some pictures and circled them. You can see them better against a white screen. Sorry about the quality of the pics. The first one is the whole screen and the second two are close ups of a black smudge and a white spot.
I was wondering if there is such a thing as a sticker to make the white glowing Apple, black. I want the Apple to match my iMac's. I don't want it to be completely black without the glowing light though.
I recently got my laptop back after the logic board was replaced and now black lines with white text keep appearing on the screen. When this happens I cannot do anything except hold the power button in to reset.
There's some known documented issues concerning the Nvidia graphics chip in the particular model of macbook pro I have.
Basically when turning on the machine, the screen is filled with black & white horizontal strips like a piano keyboard, but thats it - it doesn't actually boot up fully at all, you cannot hear the hard drive running !
Would the hard drive have anything to do with this ?
I explained this to apple telephone support & they informed of the article

& stated that the symptoms were linked.
On taking the mac to an apple store they ran a special 'firmware' boot up 'test' using an instore ipod to determine if it was a faulty Nvidia chip, so as to prove to Nvidia, the company funding the repairs whether it is that to blame.
Because the machine didn't even boot up & complete the 'test' they couldn't say whether it was the graphics chip - so 'no free repair' under extended warranty & the final answer was as usual ' buy a new logic board' that will cure it !
So last December my laptop got smashed and everything works except for the backlit screen. In fact I can still use this laptop it is just extremely hard since the screen does not light up. The person that smashed it ended up buying me a new laptop so I have this beat up (and I mean the shell is destroyed) laptop with quite a lot of functioning parts.
Now a few weeks ago my girlfriends Grandad spilled a beer on his brand new 2010 Macbook. The logic board is shot so it is almost cheaper for him to buy a brand new laptop.
Would it be possible for me to take the logic board out of my 2008 Black Macbook and put it into his 2010 White Macbook?
