Safari :: Open Pop-ups In New Tabs Rather Than In New Windows?
Apr 14, 2012Just recently I took my 13" MacBook Pro (Late 2010 Model) to my local Apple Store. When I brought it there they fixed my problem, but in the mean time they had to completely delete and uninstall Safari and Google Chrome off of my laptop. Before the apple store, my Safari would always open pop-ups and links in a new tab, now they open up in a new window. how to change it so they open in new tabs? The reason I need this changed is I might have unecessary websites open, and they would just be taking up space.

Mar 22, 2012After upgrading to Lion I see a check box at shutdown to refrain from opening web pages currently open in Safari. I did that, unchecked it, but they still open. How odd they would make this a opt out scenario - is there a way to make this permanent? I liked the old way where you could go into History and do it during a new session.

May 1, 2009My unibody macbook that is about 3 months old is acting really weird. When i open 3 or more windows of safari and itunes it starts to lock up and act slugishly. When i open activity monitor it says is still has about 800mb of memory open. It is the base model with all stock components.

Jun 16, 2009In the past couple of days I cannot open any windows in Safari. When I start the program up, I get the toolbar only. Nothing I do lets me open up a window. I even have to force quit the application sometimes to get it to close. I have reinstalled the program, removed the preferences, run Disk Warrior and Disk Utility with no luck. As a result, I have to use Firefox to do my browsing.Has anyone had this problem? Is there a fix for this?

I take care to close all the windows, hoping that they won't launch again next time I start the application, yet they do. Jul 2, 2010I put off doing the software update on Safari... I just HAD a feeling something would go wrong and I didn't have time to mess with it if it did.
So today I ran and update. And it messed up.
Now Safari will "open"... it looks like it is open and I have access to all the menus. But a Safari window will not open.
I am surprised that I haven't seen others with this problem. I have tried deleting the cache and deleting the preferences file. Neither seem to have made ANY difference.
I'm at a loss as to what to do. And I am feeling like I'm missing a body part. I need my Safari back!

Sep 4, 2009So I am trying to open up my bootcamp partition (running windows 7) in VMWare and I get this error message: Cannot open the disk '/Users/brandonquirarte/Library/Application Support/VMware Fusion/Virtual Machines/Boot Camp/%2Fdev%2Fdisk0/Boot Camp partition.vmwarevm/Boot Camp partition.vmdk' or one of the snapshot disks it depends on. It was working just fine before the upgrade to Snow Leopard but I am not sure if that has anything to do with it. I had to reinstall Windows 7 after I tried installing the Bootcamp 3.0 drivers so that may be more of the issue. I didn't test to see if would work still when I upgraded to Snow Leopard.

I'm not sure what hapenned, I must have done something, but one day my address bar decided it wanted to play hide and seek and it won....the "show toolbar" option does nothing upon clicking it, neither does the "customize toolbar" option.

May 12, 2012I cannot open PDF files through Safari. I've read some of the other comments on the same/similar issue and I have tried those steps and have been unsuccessful. I still cannot view PDF files through Safari, in fact, the Preview doesn't even open. When it worked the preview icon would pop up in the tool bar at the bottom of my Mac Book, but it no longer does that. Here is what I've tried; Upgrading my Adobe, even though I know you don't need it for Mac. Removed Adobe from applications and deleted. Went to Library and internet plug ins and there is nothing in that folder. Went to internet preferences and un clicked enable plug ins.

Jan 26, 2009i was browsing the net today and a please restart your computer message popped up. i assumed it was because of my coolbook voltages being to low so i restarted it and bumped the settings up. but when i tried using safari again it would not open. a blank page would apprear and that multicolored wheel just keeps spinning. i force quit and try opening it again. same thing. any ideas what i can do before i uninstall my coolbook and take it to the apple store.

Feb 26, 2012This has been since the most recent update 10.7.3.The pages just hang but chrome and firefox work perfectly. Not sure if this is connected but the macbook also feels as thouhg its getting hotter than usual and uses more power.
