Hardware :: Looking For Wall Mounting New 24" LED ACD?
Dec 3, 2008I just got my new ACD; and after about 10 mins, I seem to have killed it. I bought the VESA wall mount with it, and started attaching it.
As soon I had removed the stand, the block that comes out of the ACD so you could attach the mounting plate to it dropped into the display, and the lever doesn't allow me to pull it back out again....
So basically I cannot put the wall mount on, and I can't put the stand back on either (because I would need that block to attach one of them onto)...
Would Apple exchange it for me if I called Online Sales or should I contact AppleCare?

Sep 27, 2006Is there a way to prevent the PB from going to sleep after the wall charger is unplugged when using the clamshell mode? I'm going to use my PB as a carputer and want it to run for awhile after I turn off the car..I know the PB will go to sleep when it loses power in clamshell mode..

Oct 5, 2007the original optical drive in my G4 had been dying for a while - it would only respond to "eject" commands if there was a disc in the drive. If I inadvertently closed the drive without a disc, it would refuse to eject. It tried. It made a little motor sound, like it was trying to eject, then it gave up with an even smaller motor sound.

May 14, 2009My hard drive from my G4 733mhz wont mount at all. The ? in a blue folder just appears. I have tried to start up from an external mountable drive and the ? again appears. When I disconnect the internal hard drive completely and boot from my external drive it boots up.
Prior to this problem I took the hard drive from my G4 733Mhz and put it in my G4 867Mhz computer to load a new disk image. I did this as I didn't have access to an external mountable drive then. After doing this the hard drive doesn't mount in either computer and when connected all other mountable drives wont mount. I have the internal drive set to master.
IMac :: FireWire Drive Not Always Mounting
Aug 8, 2009G4 IMac, 10.4. I have a simpletech 1 tbite hard drive that does not mount almost always on my machine. I just brought it home from a friends where it does show up instantly. Ran disc utility for permissions on my imac, swapped cords. Power on before boot up, power on after, unplug firewire, etc., nothing works. I want to install OS X 10.4 on the drive to try & boot up my powerbook (panic kernel message there).

Oct 22, 2009I want to buy the 27" iMac, but for various reasons - most importantly height - I need to have it hang off a Vesa mount arm that will swing over my desk. Unfortunately, I need the screen to be fairly low, and the iMac stand would be in the way. MY QUESTION: is the stand on the iMac detachable, or not? When you mount it, do you simply have the stand hang below... seems ugly. Also, what is a good arm that would attach to a wall and extend at least 3 feet? TIA!

Jan 26, 2010My first post and am gutted to say I have a tech problem! I put a cd-rom into my iMac the other day and it didn't mount (ie no little disc symbol on the screen) and I can't eject it. I can hear the disc drive constantly trying to read the disc and then trying to eject it. It is as if the disc is slightly blocked as it tries to eject but then gives up and sucks it back into the drive and tries (unsuccessfully) to read it.any ideas anyone? I am a techno-plonker so please offer advice in simple terms!!

Mounting the powersupply from the 2004 on the 2005 is the powersuply compatible or not?
EDIT: I looked on Mactracker and compared the two:
Max Watts in the first is 604W and 450W on the late 2005.
I want to put a powersuply from a G5 2004 (604W ) on a G5 2005 that had a 450W powersuply is this possible ?

Feb 3, 2009In Firefox and Minefield I am able to post on peoples walls, but often I am unable to load their profiles well. In Safari, I am able to get to Facebook profiles, but when the profile is fully loaded, and I click in the area marked for writing on the "Wall" my text is grey, as it was when the profile first loaded and Facebook alerted me where I can write. When I click post, Facebook does not recognize that anything has been written, and will not post the text.

Jan 4, 2010I have the latest MacBook Pro (see sig) and for some reason when i try to record a video on someones facebook wall or in a message, the camera will turn on for a second then turn off and facebook says "look for camera again" and it never works. When i right click on the video box and go to flash settings, its set to USB for webcam and when i double click to check it in settings it'll show me (meaning the camera is working from the usb setting), but when i go back to the facebook video box my camera will never turn on. anyone have a fix for this? All other macs i've used have done this just fine.

Dec 1, 2008 I'm in the market for a 100mm VESA Desk/Wall Mount that's suitable for the 30" Apple Cinema Display. I already have the sub-assembly, just missing the actual fixture.
To be completely honest, I've looked at a few but I'm not completely sure what weight capacity I should be looking for. I can tell you one thing, the 30" ACD ain't a light mother, it's actually quite heavy, perhaps it's due to the Alu shell?
I wonder are there many people out there who might be using those? If your using one, either at work or in the home, would you mind posting your model and personal rating?

Mar 30, 2012When I depress the center of my mouse to access the calcualtor, I cannot see the documents open on my desktop. With Snow Leopard and Tiger, I could see the documents, so I could actually input the figures I am trying to calculate. Now, some weird lego-type wall paper appears as the background. I see my widgets, but not the docs currently open.

Jul 12, 2010On the advice of various forum members, I recently upgraded my 2008 Mac Pro to 12 GB of RAM (from 4 GB), in order to solve an issue I was having with Logic. Unfortunately the issue is still present and I am wondering what to do as I've already blown my budget to fix it. I'm hoping someone here can help.
I use the Vienna Symphonic Library through ESX24 in Logic 9, on a 2008 Mac Pro (2.8 Ghz octocore). When I attempt to play back some of my compositions, Logic hits a wall with certain sections, indicating "System Overload. The audio engine was not able to process all required data in time. (-10011)" I did check System Profiler, and all the RAM is being recognized.Is there any way to solve this without new hardware? As a side note, I was wondering how I can add more than 255 ESX24 tracks as Logic seems to cap out at that. Please let me know anything I can try.
