Dec 1, 2008 I'm in the market for a 100mm VESA Desk/Wall Mount that's suitable for the 30" Apple Cinema Display. I already have the sub-assembly, just missing the actual fixture.
To be completely honest, I've looked at a few but I'm not completely sure what weight capacity I should be looking for. I can tell you one thing, the 30" ACD ain't a light mother, it's actually quite heavy, perhaps it's due to the Alu shell?
I wonder are there many people out there who might be using those? If your using one, either at work or in the home, would you mind posting your model and personal rating?

Jul 14, 2009i've been searching for a way to use an iMac G4's LCD Monitor as an external monitor for any other computer. So far i haven't found a solution for it, so during my search i read that it is possible to remove the LCD display from the iMac G4's case and install another LCD display that you know for sure it will work on any other computer. So, my question is, is this possible? if so, what LCD monitor would fit in the case? i know that there's a problem when trying to pass the wires through the arm, but i think i can handle that since i already tried with some random cables, so if you know of an LCD that could fit in the case.

PowerPC :: Imac G4 Flat Panel Was Unplugged - Now Won't Turn On?
Nov 30, 2008I am dog/housesitting for my inlaws. Yesterday, before I left my house I shut down my iMac as always and for the heck of it, unplugged the computer, modem, and router stopped home today, and decided to hop on the computer real quick. plugged everything back in and the computer will NOT turn on. No noise, no lights, nothing. It was fine yesterday--I shut it down, unplugged it, and plugged it back in today---now it is completely dead! So I tried other plugs and no dice. Never had any power or shutdown/starup issue before. I called Mac---but outside of driving an hour to the Apple store--it wasn't much help. The guy did say it was most likely the cord. I would be wiling to try that--as it would be a cheap option, but it looks like I may have to drive to the Apple store anyway to get a cord that fits. I also tried resetting the PMU that Apples site recommends--and nothing. Any suggestion would be great. With the holidays the thought of dropping big $$$ on computer repairs is not appealing.

Jun 10, 2010i just opened my imac g4 1.25 ghz 17" (lamp imac) and found a wire that is taped at the end and apparently not connected somewhere.. as you can see in the pics, the one i'm holding with an orange tip at the tip.. i dont really know the history of this imac.. :c
is this a cause for concern on my part? i'm replacing/upgrading the dvd rom and hard disk.. that's why i saw that wire.

Mar 14, 2010 I have a VESA mount on my 27" iMac. When I installed it, I had to use the white plastic card to make the piece of metal with the screws pop out and lock in place. I have the VESA mount unscrewed and the original stand screwed back on, but the little bolt block thing is still locked in place sticking out of the computer. Anyone know how to unlock it so it will slide back into the machine?

IMac :: Vesa Mount Not Compatible With The New 27 Inch
Nov 22, 2009I bought a VESA mount for my 27 inch iMac (core i7) after confirming with apple website that it is compatible with the new 27 inch.
But, unfortunately it DOES NOT fit!
Someone in apple support page have the same problem as me:
"I tried putting it on the new 27" iMac. The flange went on without any problem. The hole aligned with the pin, and all 8 screws were fastened easily. However, installation of the mount adapter plate was a different story... When it sits on top of the flange, the holes from the sides of the mount plate do not even align with the threaded holes of the flange. It was at least 2 mm off-centre. I had to remove the protective plastic strips at the edge of the mount adapter plate, only then the bolt can be threaded into the flange. Even so, the bolts were so tight that, on one side, I could only drive the bolt half-away in before I strip the hex pattern on top of the bolt."
Wonder anyone in this forum have the same problem? I'm going to call Apple Australia on monday morning!!!!

Nov 19, 2010My buddy and I just finished swapping the airport card for a mini pci-e sata card in his 2008 Imac and all is well. Unfortunately, we could not get it to show or mount anywhere on mine (2010). We tried everything. We loaded the raid drivers and the none raid. We tried both cards (his and mine) in my machine and still nothing. His Imac mounted his ssd immediately after installing the drivers. Could it be that the new logic boards do not support this type of card? Is there a special driver that I need for the i7? I was hoping this would add 2 more sata ports.

Jan 29, 2009I purchased a Q-Drive Q 1TB in Dec for my 24" iMac, purchased it at a Apple Store. I was connected with 800firewire cable, all seemed to be working ok, time machine etc. But in the past month the drive has become a nightmare, it will just disconnect at random. At that point i cannot get it to mount, unless I reboot my iMac. I have tried to connect with 400firewire and usb2, but the same problem persists. Needless to say I am somewhat annoyed, it was not cheap. Anyone have any advice on what I should do, I'm scared to go to G-Tech for support as what I could find appears to be a nightmare. Would I be able to return this to the Apple store that I bought it from?

Dec 1, 2014My 27in late 2013 iMac using Yosemite 10.10.1 will not recognize USB card readers. I've tried 3 different card readers and even a brand new 3.0 reader. I only Lexar Professional Compact Flash cards, so I have to use an external card reader. My 2010 Macbook Pro has no problems reading all 3 of my external card readers. If I plug in an SD card to the external card reader nothing happens, but if I insert the SD card straight into the iMac it can recognize the card immediately. What am I doing wrong?

Nov 17, 2010I was just wondering if anyone else noticed this. I notice this everytime I minimize a window. When my MBP is plugged to the wall, and I minimize a window, the animation is very smooth, but when it is unplugged, just using the battery power, it is still smooth, but not as smooth.

Dec 3, 2008I just got my new ACD; and after about 10 mins, I seem to have killed it. I bought the VESA wall mount with it, and started attaching it.
As soon I had removed the stand, the block that comes out of the ACD so you could attach the mounting plate to it dropped into the display, and the lever doesn't allow me to pull it back out again....
So basically I cannot put the wall mount on, and I can't put the stand back on either (because I would need that block to attach one of them onto)...
Would Apple exchange it for me if I called Online Sales or should I contact AppleCare?

Feb 3, 2009In Firefox and Minefield I am able to post on peoples walls, but often I am unable to load their profiles well. In Safari, I am able to get to Facebook profiles, but when the profile is fully loaded, and I click in the area marked for writing on the "Wall" my text is grey, as it was when the profile first loaded and Facebook alerted me where I can write. When I click post, Facebook does not recognize that anything has been written, and will not post the text.
