View 3 Replies View Related I'm in the market for a 100mm VESA Desk/Wall Mount that's suitable for the 30" Apple Cinema Display. I already have the sub-assembly, just missing the actual fixture.
To be completely honest, I've looked at a few but I'm not completely sure what weight capacity I should be looking for. I can tell you one thing, the 30" ACD ain't a light mother, it's actually quite heavy, perhaps it's due to the Alu shell?
I wonder are there many people out there who might be using those? If your using one, either at work or in the home, would you mind posting your model and personal rating?
Ive been looking everywhere and I cant seem to find anything that would work. I am in need of a wall mount for a 22" cinema display.
I bought an Express card from here: [URL] I connected an eSATA drive to it. I don't see the drive in Finder and I suspect I need to format it first. But I don't see an equivalent to the Windows Disk Manager. How do I format the new external drive?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have an Airport Extreme, with two USB hard drives connected to it. The Airport Extreme shares these disks to my wireless network via Airport Disks.
Upstairs I have an Airport Express, that wirelessly connects to my Airport Extreme downstairs, and extends the wireless network so I get a good wireless reception upstairs.
My problem is, that it does not seem like me Airport Express does a good job of forwarding my 2 USB Airport Disks to the extended wireless network upstairs.
For example, when I use the AirVideo iPhone app to stream video from my USB Airport Disks I get a server connection error when I go upstairs and the iPad/iPhone switches to the Airport Express networks. I cannot reconnect as long as it is on the Airport Express network. If I turn the airport Express off, and thus switch to the poor wireless reception from the Airport Extreme, I can connect to the USB Airport disks again.
The Airport Express is connected to the Airport Extreme in bridged mode.
Just a question for those who have used the Airports. Can a USB hub be used to expand the number of devices the Airport can use? i.e., an external hd, a laserjet, and an inkjet.
View 4 Replies View RelatedCan it? If it can, would Airtunes still work like normal.
In other words, can I be connected to my Airport EXTREME and Airtunes would still work since the Airport EXTREME and EXPRESS are using the same network wifi-name (the Express is just extending the Extreme's range).
I have an old Airport Express (A1088).I am running OSX 10.9.4 - I have downloaded Airport Utility 5.6 and yet cannot install - I am getting "This version of Mac OS X on this volume is not supported".Unfortunately no PC or old Mac available. I used to be able set up on IOS but cannot do that anymore either.Any clues how to re-setup this old airport that works ok.

I have a 17" Powerbook G4 with a 1.33 GHz Power PC processor. I'm running MacOS 10.5.8
MBP 2.2; OSX 10.4.11; Airport Express 802.11n (version 7.3.2); WD MyBook 320GB (format Mac OS Extended) I'm trying to get the WD HDD setup as a wireless hard drive, but it's not showing up at all in Airport Utility (I don't even have a 'disk' tab in the 'manual setup' menu). Airport Disk Utility just says "no airport disks found." Of course the HDD works fine when plugged in directly to the MBP. I've searched apple support and these forums, but haven't found anything that works yet. All help I have found says use the 'disk tab' in AE manual setup window. What do I do without a 'disk' tab? (or how do I get one?) is this a firmware/software issue with the AE?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI currently have the apple extreme as my wireless router. It works great. I absolutely love it. I have two macbook pro's (wife and I both have one) and use it for my PS3 and Xbox 360. I started a new job and was given a free HP desktop (not my choice, but hey, it's free, so what can I say). The desktop is not wireless and I am not able to put my computer near the airport extreme because my TV already owns that territory. Today I bought the Airport express to use as a bridge (and other things in the future). I have plugged it in. I opened the airport utility using my macbook. It finds my extreme and my express. I select that I want to set up the express. I select that I want to set it up using an existing wireless network. I select my airport extreme. It tells me that it has to restart the express. I wait approximately 3 minutes. It then tells me that the settings to the express have been changed but it's not able to find it.
My main goal is to use the express as a bridge. I have the express plugged in beside the desktop and want to run an ethernet cable from the express to the desktop to allow for wireless capability.
AirPort Express doesn't show up in AirPort Utility 6.0. I haven't updated the AirPort utility on my laptop, and can find it there. 6.0 doesn't even has a scan button... I've done a hard reset of the AirPort Express, still isn't showing up.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently moved into a new apartment that has an Airport Express connected to a cable modem. The network does not have a password. I want to put a password on it so that not everyone in the building can use our internet.
When I connect to the Airport via the Airport Utility, it recognizes the Airport, but asks for a password when I try to configure it. I tried doing a soft reset on the Airport, but it didn't change anything. Are there two passwords for an Airport? If so, how can I bypass the second one? The "Resetting Airport Express" page at [URL] doesn't answer this question. Do I need to do a hard reset? If so, is there anything I need to know about that? We no longer have any of the original literature that came with the product.
I am upgrading from a g wireless router to an n. I have a Belkin right now that I hate. Neither I, on a mac, nor my roommate, on a PC, can get a consistent connection on it. Needless to say it's going back and I want to get an express or an extreme. I had actually bought an Airport Extreme first and it was lightening fast, but I was told that the Express was just as fast, so I went to exchange. The guy at BestBuy told me the Belkin was cheaper and just as fast, so I bought it. I would really like this to be my last trip to the store for a router. Do I need to shell out for the Extreme or is the Express just as fast if all you need is an n router?
View 4 Replies View RelatedAfter a quick search I realized that there may be people who do not know how to do this or haven't thought about doing this. I am about to purchase a new UB MBP and I would like to enable my existing Airport Extreme that is the first release (this means no dual band) to allow only N connections. I would like to supplement this by adding another wireless router I have laying around that is only B/G. To do this, should I just plug the B/G only router into a LAN port on my Airport Extreme and set up a new wireless network with another name such as "PhillStew N" for the Airport Extreme and "PhillStew B/G" for the other wireless router? Even more so, will nodes on my network that are plugged into the LAN ports on my B/G router be able to "see" nodes plugged into or wirelessly connected to the LAN ports/N connection on my Airport Extreme? Will computers connected to the B/G router be able to mount an Airport Disk that is attached to the Airport Extreme? For clarity, I have created a representation diagram of how I think this should be hooked up, which I am fairly certain is correct.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have recently purchased an Airport extreme and all is well with my network. This morning I attached a small USB HD to learn how to use this as network attached storage. It is working, but it will not auto-mount. Per the Apple KB-there should be a setting in the disks section of the Airport Utility to automatically mount hard drives. It is not there.I can access the drive by using the finder>go>network option which is fine for me, but would be too difficult for other members of the family.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have an Airport Express and when I go to configure it it does not appear on the list of available networks. I have the AC plugged in and ethernet cable from my router attached to it. I get nothing! The light on the AE is green but my iBook G4 can't see it. From what I've read this looks to be a fairly simple plug and play operation.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have an Airport Extreme Base Station and a Airport Express sitting in boxes, never being used.
Our house is already equipped with wireless connection through our DSL and Linksys router. (was in place when I moved in)
I was thinking of getting a time capsule for back up, but not sure if I could get it up and running with the Linksys or not.
Can I use my Express as an extender for using my laptop in the backyard? will it talk nicely with the Linksys?
What are your suggestions/opinions? I hate to see my beautiful Apple products sitting in boxes.
I'm looking for a repeater of sorts, similar to the Airport express, but just not as expensive.
The issue is that my macbook drops out randomly, sometimes it just goes through phases where it drops the connection about 20 times in 30 minutes.
The issue is that the modem-router cannot be moved as its phone line based, so I think my last option is a repeater. The Express seemed ideal as its a small, simple unit that can be plugged straight into the socket, which would be perfect for where I wish to place it - is there a cheaper alternative?
Just tried to set up my Airport Express but it shows a flashing yellow light (meaning it isn't connected to my router) and it isn't even recognised by Airport Utility!

View 1 Replies View RelatedThis is driving me crazy. I bought a Belkin F5D9050 802.11g compatible usb wireless card, and it will not recognize my airport express!
I have changed the settings in windows, and know the drivers are correct, it just won't find it as a online router/hub.
It says the network is unavailable, and there was an issue setting up wireless, it is like the windows wireless setup and the card are competing, so I cancelled the windows g setup and still nothing.
I am running SP 3 for XP, and tried chatting Belkin support and no one knows.
I installed Airport Utility, and etc and still doesn't connect.
The only flicker I had was when I went into my mac and tried creating another network, and then it signaled a device, but would not connect.
I have two airport express base stations. One upstairs connected to my dsl router and I can see the status of that one in the airport utility. I plugged the printer and speakers into another downstairs and plugged it in the wall but now I have a blinking orange light. I have no idea what my next step is. I have an iMac and two MacBooks that all share the connection.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have osx 10.3.9 and would like to upgrade to to lion maybe and use airport express if possible .

I have an 17" i7 MBP which has connection issues with my Airport Express. Sometimes, it connects on the first try, other times I have to turn the airport, on the MBP, on and off several times before it will connect. Sometimes that won't even work, so I put the mbp to sleep, wake it back up, then it will connect. Once connected, it works fine and never have any of the disconnect problems I have read about.
The other weird thing is that at the office, where we use non-apple wireless access points, I never see an issue.
Just today I received a (refurbished) airport express in the mail. I had trouble setting it up at first, but finally was able to create a network. Since then I've been having numerous problems. I've tried searching the internet and this forum for a situation similar to mine.
I have a cable modem running to the airport express via ethernet. I also have a printer plugged into it. All of my software is up-to-date (including the airport express), the light on the device is green, and I've restarted the modem, airport express, and computer. I am running 10.6.4 on a MacBook Pro (2.26 GHz).
Here are some of the problems I am having:
1. When I try to connect to my network in System Preferences, it will ask for my password. Once I type in the password and click okay, the dialog box asking for a password pops up again after having already entered it.
2. When I try to connect to my network using the Airport tab in the menu bar, it will either:
A) Tell me my password is incorrect (even though it's the correct one, which is stupid because it's a password remembered in keychain).
B) Tell me that the "Connection timed out"
3. Once I finally get connected to my network, I have to ***** with "Network Diagnostics" and "System Preferences" to get the thing to actually connect to the internet. Usually this means renewing my DHCP lease, etc.
4. Once everything is in working order (I'm on the internet, printer can print wirelessly, etc) the internet will drop out after about 5-10 minutes.
